During the investigation of recent hollers in the Complete Monster thread, it's become apparent to the staff that an insular, unfriendly culture has evolved in the Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard threads that is causing problems.
Specific issues include:
- Overzealous hollers on tropers who come into the threads without being familiar with all the rules and traditions of the tropes. And when they are familiar with said rules and traditions, they get accused (with little evidence) of being ban evaders.
- A few tropers in the thread habitually engage in snotty, impolite mini-modding. There are also regular complaints about excessive, offtopic "socializing" posts.
- Many many thread regulars barely post/edit anywhere else, making the threads look like they are divorced from the rest of TV Tropes.
- Following that, there are often complaints about the threads and their regulars violating wiki rules, such as on indexing, crosswicking, example context and example categorization. Some folks are working on resolving the issues, but...
- Often moderator action against thread regulars leads to a lot of participants suddenly showing up in the moderation threads to protest and speak on their behalf, like a clique.
It is not a super high level problem, but it has been going on for years and we cannot ignore it any longer. There will be a thread in Wiki Talk to discuss the problem; in the meantime there is a moratorium on further Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard example discussion until we have gotten this sorted out.
Update: The new threads have been made and can be found here:
Please see the Frequently Asked Questions and Common Requests List before suggesting any new entries for this trope.
IMPORTANT: To avoid a holler to the mods, please see here for the earliest date a work can be discussed, (usually two weeks from the US release), as well as who's reserved discussion.
When voting, you must specify the candidate(s). No blanket votes (i.e. " to everyone I missed").
No plagiarism: It's fair to source things, but an effortpost must be your own work and not lifted wholesale from another source.
We don't care what other sites think about a character being a Complete Monster. We judge this trope by our own criteria. Repeatedly attempting to bring up other sites will earn a suspension.
What is the Work
Here you briefly describe the work in question and explain any important setting details. Don't assume that everyone is familiar with the work in question.
Who is the Candidate and What have they Done?
This will be the main portion of the Effort Post. Here you list all of the crimes committed by the candidate. For candidates with longer rap sheets, keep the list to their most important and heinous crimes, we don't need to hear about every time they decide to do something minor or petty.
Do they have any Mitigating Factors or Freudian Excuse?
Here you discuss any potential redeeming or sympathetic features the character has, the character's Freudian Excuse if they have one, as well as any other potential mitigating factors like Offscreen Villainy or questions of moral agency. Try to present these as objectively as possible by presenting any evidence that may support or refute the mitigating factors.
Do they meet the Heinousness Standard?
Here you compare the actions of the Candidate to other character actions in the story in order to determine if they stand out or not. Remember that all characters, not just other villains, contribute to the Heinousness Standard
Final Verdict?
Simply state whether or not you think the character counts or not.

Grace.
Also, a Breaking Bad movie starring Jesse Pinkman has been announced for October. Haven’t caught up on the series yet (only on Season 2), but for those interested, go nuts.
"No running in the halls!"Researching this, guys? I'm not sure we should take V-cinema as 100 percent canon as the shows. It seems to be places where the directors can just do whatever they want regarless of continuity or anything else.
So, from the Kamen wiki: "The more common term OVA (Original Video Animation) is applied when the film in question is anime."
So is it like how OVA's may have a CM while the manga doesn't (or vice versa), or a character being a CM in one but not the other (looking at you Thouzer)?
CM Dates; CM Pending; CM DraftsYeah Tbh it's designed as Free for all that will often ignore the show so I don't think we should remove anyone because of it
These guys would still keep in the show itself.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Is it? Screw it, ignore them then.
Oh right no to Jenkins, Grace and Ratoshi
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Thanks for your research, Lighty. I'm still kinda confused since V-Cinema spinoffs are acknowledged as canon in The 'Verse even if they ignore their origins and are rarely expanded upon, unless we consider the shows themselves to be separate timelines? Ugh, curse you Toei. Anyway, if that's the case, keep them both.

Just keep discussionn to the show itself.
That's the main Canon anyway.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."In that case switching to keep both Kamen Rider guys.
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup thread@TheMadCr0w: To be fair, this same shit happened with Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark, and is why Lockdown is a CM in the game, but he isn't in the movie. The game is said to be fully canon to Transformers: Age of Extinction, but absolutely nothing in the game makes it physically possible for this to be remotely true.
This kind of bullshit is infuriating though. It seems like certain directors seem to enjoy fucking up the continuity altogether, or just erasing it entirely and starting over. They're equally frustrating.

I write stories and shiz. You can read them here.Wasn't Movie!Lockdown cut for not being heinous enough?
CM Dates; CM Pending; CM DraftsSwitching to keep on Masamune.
@ACW: I can't remember. Even if he was? He's definitely heinous enough in the game.
Which takes place during the same timeline as the movie.
Which isn't physically possible.
I write stories and shiz. You can read them here.Guys could I ask for some help.
There's a book villain which I'm really not sure off upon rethinking it
I wrote her off but upon thinking about it. I'm not 100 percent certain that stuff would be disqualifying.
Would anyone mind giving me a second opinion
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Sure. Who is the character?
Sure, I'll take a look later.

Mother/Olivia from woman in the the walls by amy lukavics
I can send you a link of you want.
Be warned book is not the optimistic.....
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."Okay, let's see... to Grace and Ratash. I'll abstain on Dan and Evolto, I can't make head or tail of the canonicity issue. As for Harold... yeah, I'll go with cut.
Alright, I’ll say keep for Kamen Rider baddies.
"No running in the halls!"I'm fine with the KR baddies staying.
Kevin is an seemingly emotionless serial killer cannibal while Ratash is just another demon overlord. Hence wh I think Ratash is generic and Kevin isn't.
This KR stuff reminds me of Go-Onger, whose Big Bad keeps but is brought back for a Gokaiger film and is made much sillier, but it was ultimately ignored by the thread.

You talked about Ratash having little to none personality, actually. Which is where Kevin and Ratash are similiar, as personality traits of both shown indirectly, mostly through other characters.

Judging by the trailer of the new V-Cinema, it appears that this is going to be the case for Zi-O's Big Bad.
I did but before then I said I felt Ratash was too generic. Him having little personality does not help him.
Kevin is less "big dumb monster" and more "cold, unfeeling killer" I will also add.

"Making screw-ups and mistakes was I ever really good at. Because everything I touch went to hell."
Nay there and yeah, cut Jenkins with that in mind. This was badly exaggerated.
As for the V-cinema...I'm kind of inclined to give this a pass, as it seems dubiously canon at best
