This is the thread we use to talk things over with people who have received a suspension notice. A lot of the time the notice goes out just so we can explain how seriously we take certain things, not because we want the person to feel bad and go away.
If you're suspended, give What to Do If You Are Suspended a read, then post here to begin your appeal. We try to respond to appeals in order via batch posts every few days. If a moderator has responded to your appeal, you will receive a notification in your private messages, even if you're suspended from PMs.

Don'ts
- Don't be rude. Rule 1 applies here, too.
- Don't try to negotiate your suspension outside of this thread, such as by sending Private Messages to moderators or posting elsewhere. Such activity may be thumped or otherwise removed, and may warrant an additional suspension block if it keeps happening. All communications have to take place within this thread.
- Don't respond to other suspended users. This is a place for you to discuss your suspension, not others'.
- Don't post multiple times about your appeal if it hasn't been a few days since your last reply from us, since it makes it more difficult to compose responses. If you've posted, we're likely looking at it, and kindly request you to be more patient.
- Don't make another account to try and get around your suspension. This is called ban evasion and will get you bounced. (Again, read What to Do If You Are Suspended if you don't know what these words mean.)

Hello there. I was trying to put Jacob Tremblay in the page for "voice actors whose last name is between S-V" when I saw I was suspended from editing. I would like to know why this is.

~Fighteer it's the truth of the matter. All you have to do is look at the action history. It was ONE reverting.
The first time I got this was from Zero Context mishandling. Second I admit was an edit war since it had been going on repeatedly.
And yes, I was avoiding since it was changed back after mine, I just made a minor addition and let it go, not bothering with it anymore.

Can someone lift my suspension, please, but with the condition that I'll not repeat my past mistakes?
It's been a while since my last post, so I hope it isn't rude if I repeat my questions. Again, I am asking not in order to be passive-aggressive, but to recognize my error and learn how not to repeat it. Restating my questions as succinctly and to the point as possible, they would be:
- Which of our rules specifically did I break, causing my suspension?
- What is now required of me in order to have it lifted?
- Which is the proper procedure for contesting defamatory or factually false information being added to a page, if another editor persists in adding it, without getting myself into trouble?
As I said before, it was never my intention to offend against any of our site's policies. If I have now done so, this happened only inadvertently. Likewise, in the future I will try my best to abide by any such recommendation as you or the other moderators may see fit to make.

So. Yesterday. On the 28th of February. 2021. I made an edit to a page.
Someone made a query bringing this up. As well as the fact that this was an edit that I made on May of Last year. An edit that I forgot I had made.
This query was brought up on 28th Feb, 2021 04:54:29 PM according to the timestamp of the first post.
On 28th Feb 21 6:17:11 PM. I was sent a private message by 'Michael Katsuro' to let me know that this discussion was happening. Importantly, however. When I look at the message on my Inbox. It tells me that the message was sent on 1st Mar '21 2:17:11 AM. Showcasing to me that there is a 14-hour difference between my timezone, and the Timezone that I see on the Forum Timestamps. Needless to say. Being that it was 2AM. I was asleep at the time of this message.
On 28th Feb, 2021 07:21:32 PM. Or, in my timezone. 1st March '21 03:21:32 AM. When I was still asleep. A Moderator by the name Willbyr suspended me because of 'Edit Warring'. Without allowing me a chance to explain my decision, or even simply waiting an appropriate length of time to allow me a chance to respond. This is unacceptable.
If people have an issue with an edit I have made. I have the right to respond and explain myself. Making the decision to suspend me. Without giving me a chance to explain my reasoning. And explain the fact that I had legitimately forgotten that I had already made this very same edit before. Is unacceptable. Not only that, but taking less than 3 hours to implement a suspension, without consideration for timezones and the possibility I am asleep. Or even making sure that I even knew about this myself. Is also unacceptable.
My suspension needs to be removed because it was illegitimately made without giving me a chance to explain myself. Not only that, but the call to suspend me for 'edit warring' was incorrect. I have not even been given a chance to discuss the situation, and explain why I believe that my edit was correct in the first place. There has been no 'edit warring' going on.
I hope that this situation will be resolved promptly and that I can respond to the thread discussing the edit I have made and explain why my edit was done in good faith.

~Tempest Fury: An Edit War consists of an add-remove-readd or remove-readd-remove cycle, which the latter is exactly what you did on Characters.Star Wars Obi Wan Kenobi in regards to the entries for both The Chessmaster and Broken Pedestal. The moment both those entries were restored after you removed them the first time, the proper step would've been to discuss them on either the page's Discussion page or the work's forum thread to straighten out the issue, instead of putting them back on the page.
I should note that this makes the second time you've been popped for edit warring.

It was a |Mistake|. An innocent. Easy to make |Mistake|.
It is |Not| Edit Waring. The Suspension was |Not| Deserved. And I would have simply explained that it was a |Mistake| if I had been given time to explain it, and the Moderator - if |You| Willbyr - hadn't jumped to immediate Suspension without waiting for me to explain that I had |Forgotton|.
There is no need to 'Note this is the second time I had been Suspended for Edit Warring' because this Suspension is |Incorrect|
Or am I expected to have |Perfect Memory| now and that any |Mistakes| made must instead be immediately labelled as intentional acts or Edit Warring?

Hi, is my suspension to do with indentation issues? I thought you were supposed to add another bullet point when you had more than one example when on a trope. I know you must add the show/game/etc, then do multiple bullet points with examples if you're adding a new entry to the actual trope page, so I assumed that was the case when adding a trope to a character page and so on. Is it that I need to list it as a paragraph instead of bullet points?

~Tempest Fury: The expectation is that if you're suspended, you'll learn the exact rule(s) that you broke and adjust your editing practices so that they don't happen again. Last year, you were suspended in part for edit warring on YMMV.Star Wars The Clone Wars, which you were specifically told and which you acknowledged in your posts in here for that suspension. That would imply that you read Edit War and understood how and why to not do that, and yet here we are again.

~Fighteer And I'm trying to explain that it was something I was trying to avoid. Just look at my history on said page. I made an entry, then it got moved. Okay, fine, then was altered. I reverted it back once because I thought something went wrong. When it was changed back, I simply added to it and left it alone to go elsewhere. Went a week without incident, so I thought things were fine. If it had been repeated edits within the same day I could understand, but this was just once in one page.
