This is the thread we use to talk things over with people who have received a suspension notice. A lot of the time the notice goes out just so we can explain how seriously we take certain things, not because we want the person to feel bad and go away.
If you're suspended, give What to Do If You Are Suspended a read, then post here to begin your appeal. We try to respond to appeals in order via batch posts every few days. If a moderator has responded to your appeal, you will receive a notification in your private messages, even if you're suspended from PMs.

Don'ts
- Don't be rude. Rule 1 applies here, too.
- Don't try to negotiate your suspension outside of this thread, such as by sending Private Messages to moderators or posting elsewhere. Such activity may be thumped or otherwise removed, and may warrant an additional suspension block if it keeps happening. All communications have to take place within this thread.
- Don't respond to other suspended users. This is a place for you to discuss your suspension, not others'.
- Don't post multiple times about your appeal if it hasn't been a few days since your last reply from us, since it makes it more difficult to compose responses. If you've posted, we're likely looking at it, and kindly request you to be more patient.
- Don't make another account to try and get around your suspension. This is called ban evasion and will get you bounced. (Again, read What to Do If You Are Suspended if you don't know what these words mean.)

Hi mods! Yesterday (or the day before that maybe) I "got known" on this site after years of lurking, for the purpose of asking something on "ask the tropers". And I got edit banned for that. I never made a single edit (afaik). My first reaction was "wtf mods, this was extremely rude", but now I'll just assume you guys just were warning me.. of something.. no idea what tbh. I'd like to ask this.
On to the contents of my post*: I asked why the Boku No Pico page was deleted, if there was an discussion about it (I was expecting something like wikipedia's AFD) or if it was directly violating any rules. Having read the Welcome To TV Tropes page completely and the linked pages, the closest mention of a policy against pornographic content is Family Friendly, which says that discussing mature content is allowed as long as the tvtropes page itself is Family Friendly. In my post I linked an archive.org version of the deleted page which seemed mostly OK with a few details that could be fixed and wouldn't justify deleting the page.
Anyway, a while after posting that I refreshed, found I got banned, and asked a friend if my post got deleted. My friend told me the post was there and copied me the only reply, which linked to two pages, No Lewdness No Prudishness and Five P. Which was exactly what I was asking for, pages detailing the policy that justified this. Apparently rule 6 on the first link seems to target this kind of show specifically. I found the What Is Porn page too, which made things even clearer *
So now I can only think of a few reasons for me to get banned.
- Maybe you believed that because I mentioned Boku No Pico I was some sort of troll. I was trying to be polite; please inform me if I wasn't at some point.
- Maybe "not reading the rules"? As I said before, I did read as much as I could before asking, but there were no links from the Welcome To TV Tropes page to the other pages with the actual answer I was looking for, and the few pages I found just confirmed my suspicion that talking about nsfw stuff was ok. If this was the actual reason for the ban, please, PLEASE restructure the pages detailing the rules to include everything. Actually, if that wasn't the reason, please do it anyway.
- Maybe mentioning the name Boku No Pico is a bannable offense. Who needs freedom of speech anyway? If this is the case, I'm screwed because I did it three times in this post, which would mean this post may never reach the forum and I'll be stuck forever without an account.*
Oh and sorry for the long post. Something that happens quite often when I write posts like this is that the other person says something that invalidates 90% of what I wrote, a typical example being "Oh, sorry for the misunderstanding!". This time I won't mind if I get a reply like that :D

Why was I block from editing? It is because I put Pokemon Special on What Do You Mean It Not For Kids when it belong on What Do You Mean It For Kids?

dx: We've been getting a lot of crap for our new policies, and some people have been using sockpuppets to stir up trouble, so a new account with no edits making their first post asking about a cut page and using wording that unfortunately raised red flags was deemed suspicious, so it was a better safe than sorry case. Now that you've come here, explained the problem, and shown you've found the pages on our new policies, I'll undo the bans. Have a nice day!

A PM saying "style is inappropriate" with no mention of what page is concerned is unhelpful. And a prohibition on editing the talk page of a given page is plain stupid.
bauer 24: You were sent a natterfier, a PM which explains the problems of Natter and includes the date and page of your problematic edit. That's plenty helpful. You ignored that PM and continued making natter-y edits.
As for prohibition for editing discussion pages, an edit ban means you have done something inappropriate for the wiki. Discussion pages are an integral part of the wiki, and therefore someone who needs to talk to us about their edits cannot participate in them.

Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.Panctice Squad Cutterback, experience has shown you don't appear to be able to handle issues relating to the new policy responsibly. To lift your suspension, you will have to promise not to use the cutlist, especially not for pages you find objectionable.
