I'm really only casually a furry, but here's my fursona◊, Lapeko! Ze's a pardine genet, native to Western Africa. They're seriously◊ adorable◊ animals!! I'm still working on a more complete ref of hir.
Trope-tan is here! ➯ my pronouns are ze/hira cute
be nice to benjamin it's not his fault he got beat up by a microbeis just liking furry art enough to be considered a furry?
It can be, but you don't have to consider yourself a furry if you're not comfortable with the label.
A great Mascot Mook.It doesn't automatically make you a furry, necessarily, buuut if you also heavily associate with the fandom itself, you might as well just embrace the label. "I'm not a furry you guys" starts to look a bit silly/desperate after a point.
Being a furry is something to be proud of, not deny. Cringe culture is dead.
Honestly I feel like the hate against furries has really died down these past few years
She/they. Hirrus Clutumnus is my comfort characterI feel like when Zootopia was released, and when articles on how hating furries equal to thinly-veiled homophobia popped around, the hate died down.
ᜇᜎᜈ᜔ᜇᜈ᜔|I DO COMMISSIONS|ᜇᜎᜈ᜔ᜇᜈ᜔I have no problem with furries, and I wouldn't mind being considered one, I was just wondering if the term applied to me or not
If you have an interest in anthropomorphic characters and anthropomorphic art and don't mind the term being applied to you then sure, you're a furry. Of course, not everyone who likes those things consider themselves furries.
She/they. Hirrus Clutumnus is my comfort characterI think one of the reasons furry hate isn't as bad now is because of the furry community trying to exile pedophiles and zoophiles, like the whole Sappho situation. A lot of people hated furries because they thought they use their suits to lure children, or that they genuinely think they're animals (and by extension, fuck dogs)
I also noticed how much less vitriol there is towards furries. There was a furry who released a game called Tribal Hunter that uses weight gain and inflation as game mechanics. While furries obviously loved it, I saw in many reviews that non furries also liked the game with most of them being non plussed about the fetish potential the game presents.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order. And I'm just off over here in my little furry bubble writing dark fantasy novels about a wolf girl with a tailmaw.
^^ well, I guess because as long as the mechanics are fun I think most reasonable people can ignore potential fetishistic aspects that don't disturb the game's enjoyability either way.
Just saying there's nothing wrong with folks who identify as animals. Not all of them are furries, but some are.
"Don't cry because it's over, cry because it happened."Therians and otherkin are cool with me, they're just being themselves. I just meant people who think they're actually physically animals and use it to justify bestiality. Otherkin are still sane and know they're inhabiting a human body.
Legend of Ahya: As above, so Below is out! You can find it on any Amazon page (for your country!) or on most online book retailer stores! If you haven't checked out book 1, Legend of Ahya: Target of Interest, you can find it as well online. There is e-reader versions for a variety of formats, and paperback and hardback options! It's a gritty, dark fantasy series set in a world of high technology with an underpinning of magic laced throughout - following a wolf girl with a tailmaw. It's meant for an adult audience and does deal with dark themes. Very proud to have a second book published and almost done writing the third!

How animal-like does something have to be considered a furry? From what I see little bit beastly is usually not enough for most.
It depends on the person, I guess. For me, Little Bit Beastly and Talking Animals don't count as "furries". However, they still count as anthropomorphized animals to an extent (little bit beastly characters less so), and movies like The Lion King are obviously very popular within the fandom.
I suppose the character at least has to be animal-like in appearance. Like, having an animal head, fur/feathers/scales, and a tail.

She/they. Hirrus Clutumnus is my comfort characterJust so you know, there is no way a grenade would be able to hurt my fursona. He's reinforced pretty dang strong, despite also being pretty squishable.
grimdark is for losersCool?
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order.
I don't really worry about my family finding out that I'm a furry. I don't think my parents even know what furries are, and I'm pretty sure my brother already knows and is cool with it.
A great Mascot Mook.
