Besides death and taxes, nothing is more certain.
Silly question. Why did Link's Awakening have so many references to Mario?
Watsonian answer: The entire island is All Just a Dream and the Wind Fish and probably Link's mind are creating weird creatures as well as all of the Funny Animal people.
Doylist, they just felt like it I guess. And the nature of the game lends itself to breaking a lot of the boundaries of the universe.

Adventurers: homeless people who steal from tombs and kill things.Although even the Oracles games, which are supposed to be set in the real world, have a few Pokeys, Goombas, and Cheep Cheeps here and there.
Hey, Capcom, can we get remakes of those next after you're done with RE2?

Well, Mario and Zelda might take place in the same universe if Link's cameo in Super Mario RPG is any indication, so...
There's a lot of Mario references in Zelda games, and vice versa. In Ocarina of Time 3D, you can see an image of World 1-1 from the original Super Mario Bros. through a window in Zelda's room in Hyrule Castle, for example.
Ya know, chibi artstyle does look pretty similar to gameboy zelda's artstyle in a way
As I understand it Link's Awakening started out as more of a side project where the designers were goofing off and just adding whatever they liked.
This announcement kind of blew me away. My favorite 2D Zelda of all time is getting a remake?! (Okay, technically a second remake, but I only ever played DX.) I never saw that coming, but I am very very pleased.
Also, hi. I'm new here.
> Also, hi. I'm new here.
Welcome!
As for remakes,I'm hoping they port some of the DS Zelda titles to the Switch
New theme music also a boxThat’s not gonna happen. Those games are entirely reliant on touch controls.
I almost about that, surprised it's not something they carried with the next generation of hanhelds
New theme music also a boxYou're not new here, Berserker 88! :D I see you over on other forums! :P
Anyway, I was pleasantly surprised at this announcement. Funny thing, my son is actually working his way through this game for the first time right now. Amazing timing that....so maybe after he finishes, we can go through this one together.
Oh, while we're talking about Nintendo enemy cross-pollination: the Moto. The moto was an enemy in Metroid 2. It was one of the most recgonizable enemies in that game. But, in Wario Land II there is an enemy called a Togemen that looks just like a moto, though it is smaller and jumps instead of running back and forth.
I'm new to this specific forum. That's what I meant.
And I was just thinking of playing through the game again myself. Good timing indeed.
Never did play Link's Awakening. I'm very much looking forward to this.
Same. Never had a Gameboy. Glad to see it come to the Switch.
I'm bitter about Marin being so cute. I've always wanted to see her and the ALTTP!Link in nice, true-to-the-art models. But they're so cutesy and Super-Deformed here. I hope the opening cutscene isn't the only animatic, but it likely is. Oh well, I guess Hyrule Warriors was as close as I'll get.

I hope Hyrule Warriors also gets a sequel eventually. There are a ton of characters I'd love to play as, like Groose and Saria.
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?Chancellor Cole would be fun with his lightning, ghost mice, and puppet strings.
And you know what his gold material drop would be.

You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique!Linebeck would also be great.
Don't forget our boy Beedle, wielding the Beetle from Skyward Sword!
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?We'd probably get a few of Champions as well.
We never got Nabooru did we? She could get in there as well.
One Strip! One Strip!I'd rather have Nabooru than Urbosa, personally. But Sidon? Now that is quality Hyrule Warriors material.
Maybe Rauru would also be cool, if he can turn into Kaepora Gaebora on the fly, like King Daphnes turns into the King of Red Lions.
Is that a Wocket in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?
If there's one consistency in the universe, it's Zelda artstyle debates.
