If a trope is heavily undercontextualized or misused, the logic is that there has to be something inherently unclear in the description or the name. If people rewrote all examples of all tropes to be correct, it still won't fix a problem if it's there.
Also, the crowned proposal isn't cutting the trope. It will get the trope a chance to be cleaned up and re-launched in a clean state.

Also, I did specify that these are works not all of us are familiar with. It's TRS protocol to scrap examples we can't personally fix because it's not our job to verify that every example is accurate. If you know these works, great — but you can't hold it against us that we can't operate on a "repair the examples" policy when it comes to ZCE.

Will also add that it has been suggested that the name might be too unclear and misleading in its own right.
So if we're discussing changing the name, rewriting/reworking the definition for added clarity, and cleaning up the wicks that don't fit, the outcome would be effectively a new page anyways. Ship Of Theseus, you know

This obstructive contrarianism isn't productive, so knock it off. The thread creator looked for problems and found them, and we came up with a way to fix it, so providing input on the TLP draft is an option that would work better than complaining about the thread that came up with the idea to make the draft.
Edit: Thumped the posts after discussion with the other mods, but if that isn't enough, then I'll have to do more than thump next time.

Cleared out the Characters/ namespace; down to 300 wicks now. So far not many have had sufficient context to move to the draft, though special shoutout to the example that was about two non-sapient dogs with different fur colors.

Salt And Pepper suffers from heavy misuse, so sending the trope back to TLP (using the draft at Sandbox.Salt And Pepper TLP Draft) was suggested to gather examples and refine the description. Should Salt And Pepper be sent back to TLP?
Regardless, if this trope does get sent back to the TLP, that's not the same as a cut. We already have a draft for and it can be rebuilt there so it's not getting "mangled". It can be rebuilt again. Just because you are familiar with those works doesn't mean everyone else and we don't expect people to research work they don't know or aren't interested in just to fix ZCE's.
