Is Villain Killer tropeworthy?

Villain Killer is supposed to be a trope for characters who have killed multiple villains...but I don't think that's notable? You see, with Hero Killer, a villain that's so strong that they have a reputation of killing multiple heroes is a good way to create suspense and drama. It also gives the heroes a formidable obstacle to overcome. Inverting it into Hero Killer doesn't very well in my opinion. In works (where people die), the hero/protagonist having a body count of villains is to be expected. So, I am not really seeing the trope here.

Also, I looked through the trope's TLP draft and found multiple people who shared similar sentiments to my own about the VK. Also, the sponsor admitted that they drafted this trope just because Hero Killer existed so there's that.

The description does say that the trope is not merely someone who's killed a villain or two. It only applies if one good guy stands out from the others with their tendency to lethally dispose of their enemies.

I think that if most heroes in a story kill villains, the trope doesn't apply, since it doesn't make them stand out. Likewise, if there's one main character who does all of the fighting, it's probably not this trope.

Oh m, I am aware of that. I just didn't think it was reflected very well in the example section. I see characters like Kirby, Franchise.Sonic The Hedgehog, and VideoGame.Mario And Luigi being included just because they have killed a lot of enemies even that's not a trait that's associated with them. But it's probably just a misuse issue I guess. Hero Killer probably has the same issues.

I've always found both Hero Killer and Villain Killer to be kind of odd, poorly named, all around confusing.

I'll just repost my most recent post on that thread:

"...the fact that because the page is undergoing a (slow) cleanup effort, we have a sandbox that'll be swapped in, so if you add it to TNTRS add it to the sandbox as well to ensure it doesn't disappear when swapped.

Of course, if you're planning to take it to TRS yourself it doesn't need to be on this page at all."

Basically you can do it if you really want to, but you don't need to, it's mostly just a bin for pages nobody currently wants to fix, not everything that needs TRS has to go there.
