I'm now more curious than ever to learn more about why Robotnik became an orphan in the first place. They mentioned it in the first movie, but they didn't really follow up on that. Maybe the third movie will be the chance to explain more about Robotnik's backstory and how he became an orphan in the first place and his relationship to Gerald Robotnik.

I for one used the fact that Jim Carrey's version of Robotnik was an orphan as further proof that the shit that went down with Gerald and Maria, fucked with him. Perhaps there is this… deep-seeded reason for Robotnik's animosity, that we can explore.

Maybe that's why Robotnik was stating in the first movie about why he doesn't like humans. It probably had something to do with what happened with Gerald and Maria.

I'm not familiar with John Campea but on his Youtube channel he posted that Hayden is not voicing Shadow and while he can't say who is voicing him, he's confident people will be very happy.
Well if Robotnik has any sort of interaction with Gerald I'm sure it'll be eggcellent.

I don't know. Sonic fans were pretty okay with Idris Elba voicing Knuckles, even though most people were thinking that the Rock was going to voice Knuckles.

It's not Hayden Christianson, so it must be Matt Lanter. Seriously though, Lanter would be a good choice.
I imagine a celebrity will be chosen. It will be stunt casting in that respect, but probably still be the best possible person who's also a box-office draw. Like Elba, who was clearly cast partly due to stunt casting, but was also absolutely perfect in the role.

I am a bit surprised that they didn't announced Shadow's voice actor during Cinema Con. I guess they are still looking for an actor to voice Shadow.

It might be a situation similar to Tom Holland, ie an actor who seems incapable of keeping his mouth shut about spoilers before the movie arrives. They might be hiding the actor's identity to prevent overzealous fans from badgering him about spoilers.

Honestly the fewer leaks and interviews abouy a new film the better. I like being surprised.
Like imagine if it was Hayden Christensen and we got a wave of Skywalker memes on Twitter, or if it was some Tom Holland and then people boycott the movie because they don't believe Tom Holland was a good pick?
Like, credits exist so we can know who played who.
People dodged and doomed Wonka because they didn't think Timothee Chalamet was a good fit. People thought Batmam v Superman would be lame because of Ben Affleck playing Batman. The movie was lame buy Affleck ended up being the best part of it.

Looking around he was the first one to reveal Andrew and Tobey for No Way Home and has a good reputation far as Hollywood scoopers go.
My personal theory is that Ivo will still be Gerald's grandson, and an orphan because the government disappeared his parents, Maria's sibling.
