Question. I added an in-universe intentional example of this trope from one of the stories in my fanfic series to both this page and the works page for the fanfic. Best I can tell, it qualifies as such. Is there a problem doing this?
Thanks.

Intentional/In-Universe examples of Cliché Storm belong under Troperiffic.
I'm not...sure that's true? Isn't Troperiffic just like, a work uses many tropes? It's not necessarily intentional, but it is more tongue-in-cheek most of the time.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessThe example does use stock examples of cliche phrases traded back and forth in dialogue spoken by the characters. They even acknowledge them as such. I’m not sure Troperiffic is the best fit here, given what I read of the trope description.
This was just added to MeatCanyon.
- Cliché Storm: This character is secretly a psychopath. This character is actually a sexual predator. The whole show was somebody's delusion. This character kills this character in a Subverted Kids' Show. This children's show is now Darker and Edgier, with murder, abuse, rape-allusions, and hideous character designs. These aren't really new ideas and adding real-life horror to them doesn't help.
The example originally had a Sarcasm Mode pothole saying "How original", but that was removed.
That's 100% bashing.
Yeah, that’s pure bashing. I removed it.
back lolThis was just added to Shrek.
- Cliché Storm: Probably the most glaring criticism of the film is that the Third-Act Misunderstanding between Shrek and Fiona plays out exactly as you expect it would.
This is just one scene and not the whole movie.
Well it's more like a major portion of the film. It does follow familiar beats, however it genuinely subverts the expected climax with what happens to Fiona. So I would cut it on the grounds that it only plays part of the romance straight.
Do we have a better working definition than "has a lot of clichés"? I might suggest one like "the plot structure is predictable for anyone familiar with the genre, even if specific plot points are not".
Stories don't tell us monsters exist; we knew that already. They show us that monsters can be trademarked and milked for years.
A discussion on the TRS meta thread (starting with the linked post) decided that Cliché Storm was a trope in need of a cleanup, rather than TRS.
With that in mind, Cliché Storm is a trope for works that have lots of cliches. As you can probably tell, this trope attracts a lot of complaining. As noted on the meta thread, this trope also attracts lots of gushing in the form of entries trying to justify the large number of cliches, general examples, ZCEs, In-Universe intentional examples, etc.
This cleanup thread has been created in Long-Term per the discussion to help clean out these issues and more.
