Character-Specific Pages (CSPs) are created when individual characters have so many trope examples that they can't reasonably be included on a shared page.
The Administrivia Character-Specific Pages policy details the rules that apply to these pages. All Character-Specific Pages must also follow the basic How to Create a Character Page policy, as well as the wiki's more general policies about spoilers and examples.
This cleanup thread handles the following tasks:
- Reviewing and approving new CSP proposals. All new potential CSPs must be reviewed and, if necessary, cleaned up before they're created.
- Agreeing on page names for new CSPs.
- Ensuring that wicks are updated when a new CSP is created.
- Reviewing existing CSPs if there's a concern that they need cleanup, or if it's believed that the character may no longer qualify for a page.
- Merging existing CSPs into other character pages when necessary.
- Ensuring that wicks are updated when a CSP is removed/merged.
- Creating, updating and cutting redirects, as necessary, to reflect these splits and merges.
Crowners are not normally required but, where appropriate, can be used to formalise decisions on any of these points.
If a character no longer qualifies for a CSP, it's often more practical to turn the CSP into a redirect than to cut the page entirely. This keeps the page history visible to users, and also helps to steer offsite 'inbound' traffic (search engine results) to the right place. With that in mind, cut requests for CSPs may be declined and referred to this thread if they don't have a clear consensus.
Comments linking back to this thread can be added to CSPs when needed - e.g. to confirm their creation was approved, to warn tropers that a cleanup is in progress, or to note the date and outcome of a more recent review.

Mod update 07 Mar 2024, reflecting new CSP policy, updated again 22 Mar 2024 to mention redirects for removed CSPs
- Other options must have been tried first, like splitting pages into further groups.
- The character's folder is cleaned up beforehand, fixing any Zero-Context Examples and Wall of Text entries and removing any outdated, misused, or non-character tropes.
- A character's folder is at least 6,000 words/40,000 characters (with spaces). Here is a byte counter.note
- The current character page bypasses technical limitations and requires a split up.
- A single character takes up the majority of a page or is disproportionately bigger than other folders.
Splitting a character into their own page is a major change and needs to be run by the community before it is enacted. Even if you believe a character meets these requirements, they should be run through this thread first. Having other tropers take a look can help spot issues you may not notice or believe to be issues.
Per How to Create a Character Page, character-specific pages should only include tropes that describe the character. These tropes should fall under Characterization Tropes or one of its related indexes, unless they're recurring character traits (distinctive things that the character does repeatedly). If you're unsure what counts as a character trope, you can ask the Are these Character Tropes? thread.
If you have concerns with a general character page, they have their own separate cleanup thread, as do the self-demonstrating character pages.

I already cutlisted his page, so I saved its contents on a TXT file in case the data becomes irrecoverable.

Was it really necessary to undo that page split a few hours after it's made? That page was very close to the 40,000 byte minimum and probably would have reached it in a few edits. Cutting pages makes things harder to follow and increases the workload for mods.

Robin from Teen titans go is also long enough at 40,061 bytes.

The “Iron Fist” folder in the “Defenders” page currently has 42,754 bytes. The remaining “Defenders” page without the “Iron Fist” folder currently has 27,460 bytes. Though that got me thinking, what if the “Defenders” page and the “Defenders - Allies” page are merged into one page called “Defenders and Allies”, just like how the “Avengers and Allies” page have both members of the Avengers and their allies that are not found in other pages. That way, the “Defenders and Allies” page will have more than 40,000 bytes, allowing Iron Fist to have his own individual character page.

I am here to post that some hours ago, I made a sandbox for a possible draft character page for General Zod. In addition to the main Post-Crisis/Post-Flashpoint version, I also included the Pocket Dimension, Zed Avrusiken, and Earth-15 Superman iterations into the page. I have done an evaluation with the byte check, and I have rounded up 54,316 bytes.
Based on what has been established, is it okay for Zod to be given his own character page + his three different incarnations being included (I am aware that Zed Avrusiken is also listed in Rogues Gallery - A to L Index, so I presume that he can be moved there)?

I recently noticed that Jill and Claire from Resident Evil have their own pages but they are at 19,679 bytes and 25,943 bytes respectively, the guy who made em, Industrious Arc, states that "[They] belongs in the Recurring Characters list with [their] own page." yet they don't meet the byte criteria. Their pages should really be cut and return to their respective game debut sections.

Merge them back. Being recurring isn't enough. Since they can be listed by first appearance.

If you want to create a Character-Specific Page, the most reasonable suggestion is to make a Sandbox and make as much additions as you can until you hit that 40,000 byte mark.
By principle, I don't mind Jill Valentine and Claire Redfield getting their own pages, but if we were to abide by the rules, I would first suggest, as I've said before, making a Sandbox and seeing if you can add enough before making the real deal. Baby Steps after all.
And yes, revert Jill and Claire to their original place + I don't mind Ethan Winters getting his own page.
Given how I've done Zod, is it possible if I can also add Alexei Luthor and Alexander Luthor, Sr. into Lex Luthor's character page, under the label of Other Versions of Lex?
