Acting Supernatural (Reboot) Signup Sheet

Sorry I'm unoriginal.

Will you be waiting until there's three more signups before starting, or will you still start anyway at some point even with no more signups?

That would require either A. adding in GMP Cs to fill the extra slots, which I've already tried and failed to do, B. putting the RP on hold after a certain point to wait for the three other signups, or C. force the three latecomers to have their characters...come late.

I don't want to do any of those things, especially not A. That being said, if no one else has signed up by tomorrow, we'll start early.

If you want, I can send all of you invites to a Discord server before the game starts (as opposed to when the game starts).

I'm open to joining the server now, lest I forget when it starts :V

Sorry about the holdup, been pretty busy. Made a few adjustments here and there, hopefully it'll still work.

• Name: Robin Travil.
• Age: 16.
• Appearance: Standing at 5'6 and being on the lean side in terms of build, physique and generally fairly androgynous in appearance, Robin has light brown hair, hazel eyes and typically dresses in rather plain, cheap clothing when not in the school's uniform. The only consistent factor between any of their attire is a plain and ordinary locket.
• Personality: Robin is typically levelheaded and open-minded, doing their best to be polite, patient and typically putting others before themselves or at least tries to. There are moments where that calm demeanor cracks though, revealing a more cheerful if rather energetic, VERY confident and competitive youth beneath it all.
• Power/Oddity: Reflect Step. Robin is able to enter and exit from reflective surfaces on contact and being able 'blink' between them, typically to take shortcuts if they're in a reasonable distance of each other. It's not entirely sure if it's simply all reflective surfaces being 'connected' together that they're able to do it, part of the power to begin with or something if it's something else entirely.
  • It...does have the drawback of potentially leaving them stranded if someone were to break the only mirror in a house, nor can they really control it well as unintentionally making physical contact with a reflective surface WILL trigger their power and drawn them into the reflection which can be a mild inconvenience at best, not to mention definitely alert anyone if they saw him disappear and reappear.

  • And Robin doesn't want to know what would happen if Robin got thrown into a lake or swimming pool. There's also the fact their own reflection is rather inconsistent, potentially appearing somewhat distorted, somewhat 'different' or simply not there at all.

• Backstory: Robin's life growing up would be considered uneventful by most beyond getting the idea that hard work and making an effort to be noticed was important from an early age. And while they certainly tried to stand out whether it came to sports or in the classroom only to fall short through both middle (and so far) high-school.

While their relationship with their parents is on mostly good terms, the fact they typically work until very late at night means they rarely see each other, leaving Robin to look after themself for most days. Things got somewhat complicated after they moved to another part of Little Haven at the end of last year and with more work hours, Robin's current high-school too far out of the way by car and that the only school nearby with a bus was Oddity High.

• And while Robin won't say anything about how they got their powers, as far as they know, they've only had them for two months.

• "Why did you decide to join the school?": "Got to get an education from somewhere, right? This is the closest Don't exactly have the luxury of choice around here, too far to walk anywhere else, even with the shortcuts."

Sorry, I didn't mean to be impatient or pushy; I was just excited and curious about how long we would be waiting to start.

Since the topic was brought up though, while I can't speak for everyone of course, in my opinion and experience, I don't think it would be a problem if you had one GMPC student; more than one might become an issue in a way, yes, but just one or even two if they're like close siblings or something, I don't see how that could be super detrimental to the game as a whole. It could even be helpful in any situations where we have our characters interacting without the teachers or other adults around, so that you could continue to engage with the interactions as well.

I'm interested! Think I'll put in a proper signup tomorrow or maybe the next day (I am currently very tired and will be rather busy tomorrow).

Name: Loki Laufeysson

Age: Completely unknown; if Guy is to be believed, basically indefinite. Furthermore, he only remembers anything starting a few weeks ago. However, he woke up looking fifteen, and he sure acts like a teenager, so let's go with that.

Appearance: Technically he can look like whatever he wants; however, he prefers (a variously aged-up or -down, and sometimes female, version of) the form he woke up in, which is as follows: a thinnish, shortish teenager with pale-ish skin, a largish nose, medium-length brown hair, a very expressive (if not exactly attractive) face, and very, very light blue eyes. Oh, and nowhere near as cute as certain renditions of Loki in popular media.

Personality: A self-described "agent of chaos" (just like certain others) who loves pranks and general mayhem. Very clever but tends to overestimate his ability to manipulate others, much to his detriment; actually, he tends to overestimate everything about himself. He doesn't brag or gloat about it, at least not normally; he just assumes he'll be able to do something, especially if it's a mental or social skill. However, he is remarkably protective of anyone he considers a friend, which includes just about anyone who can tolerate his mayhem and large ego, and has an oddly strong parenting instinct.

Power/Oddity: Primarily, shapeshifting. Lots and lots of shapeshifting. He can shapeshift into any person, animal, plant, or other life-form, even a group of creatures that act as a unit, like an ant colony, though those are harder to control. He can even transform into creatures that supposedly don't exist or that physically can't exist, and can do anything those creatures can normally do. The only limitation is that if he gets injured in a form, he stays injured when he changes form, and in as similar a way as possible. Also, the more different something is from a human (and the more overtly magical it is, such as a dragon), the more effort it requires, and the more tired and hungry he'll be afterwards (in other words, he couldn't become a dragon; doing so would probably kill him). Changing his appearance while remaining human is no effort; turning into another vertebrate is a little effort; invertebrate animals, some effort; fungi and somewhat magical creatures, more effort; protists, bacteria, plants, and more-magical creatures, lots of effort. Turning into something really big would probably also require more effort. He might or might not be immortal, he hasn't tested that one for obvious reasons, but he gets hurt just like everyone else, so almost certainly not. (Plus it would be OP.) Another power he has is that, if he wants to, he can insult someone and cause physical injury by doing so, or even death if he insults them enough. He also has a few skills that are allegedly supernatural in nature; for instance, he can consume inhuman amounts of food very fast (usually deftly avoiding all inedible parts in the process), and he is very, very good at weaving and knot-tying. That's right, he actually has super-weaving◊.

Backstory: He woke up one day, on the streets, with some guy (named Guy) who claimed he was the Norse god Loki, and he immediately noticed that he couldn't remember a thing. Not a good thing to notice. (I mean, in theory it'd be worse not to notice...) Loki was the first thing that came to mind when he thought of his name, lending credence to the idea that he is, in fact, Loki. Lending further credence to it is that he has very clear knowledge of Norse mythology, seemingly uninfluenced by popular media on the subject, and of course, the powers. On the other hand, he could be an empowered mythology nerd with a god complex. He doesn't know... but he sure would like to find out.

"Why did you decide to join the school?": I figure if anyone would know who I really am, they'd go to this school. Or, you know, they wouldn't. Who knows? But hey, either way it's a place I can run around turning into birds and shit without anyone batting an eye.

Alright. Accepted.

And with eleven signups, plus the single GMPC that Firock has convinced me to include (if it goes wrong again, blame him), we have enough to start!

HOWEVER, the signups are not closing, and in fact we'll probably need a few extra characters as replacements for the two or three people who inevitably drop out in the first week. I'm intentionally starting the RP about 45 minutes before the actual start of school to provide a buffer for said people.

Name: Artevin Hastur

Age: 15

Appearance: "5,4" Artevin has brown hair combed to the right side, his body is skinny with pale skin, He mostly wears covering clothes and has a cast coving his right arm and hand. "171.40cm" The parasite is Artevin's right arm and right hand it's fleshy red with the hand, now a mouth with teeth made to eat meat and can stretch from his host, the parasite has its organs of lungs, stomach, heart, and more in the host's right arm and hand.

Personality: Artevin is a sociable teen talking to people, finding any way to help them so he can get the trust of others if they see his permanent friend, it wouldn't end badly. Parasite acts in animal instinct feeding off of Artevin and will take action on its own that will benefit both him and his host.

Power/Oddity: Parasitic leeching: With a parasite being his right arm, it needs food to live so it will take the food that is in the host's body as well as the nutrition.

Two in one: from the parasite's body fusion with the host's right arm, having its vessels, nerves, and more fusion into one both of them can feel the same thing of pain, feelings, and food. With the two of them in one body, if one of them perish, the other will suffer the same fate.

Parasitic defense: If the host or itself is being attacked the parasite will fight with bites and grow tentacles out of its body to whip back the attacker and can use the bones inside the host's right arm to add onto the tentacles, the bones in the right arm can grow but will take time.

Backstory (optional): Artevin starts with the parasite in the night at his house, he wakes to a flash from the sky, hearing it landed on their back lawn which have Artevin walking out to see the aftermath of it, finding a meteorite has landed and so made his way to it, With this being the first time finding something like this he goes closer to it and finds an opening to it and was tired or wanting to see what happened puts his right arm into the opening and peeled something it and then a bite it was painful making him pass out. Soon waking up to his parents looking at their face's he can tell they are very much scared and in horror. He turns to his arm to find it all red, and he can't move it at all. Live in the hospital was worrisome to him with his right arm getting worst starting to move on its own and having a small hole in the palm, being visited by his loved one day after day's and day's the doctor comes back some the news about his right arm. And that it has a parasite in it mixing into his body and can't be removed without him dead too and soon has the parasite controls more and more his arm he was pulled from his school because of the damage of this unknown parasite. And was soon homeschool and forced to eat more from the parasite taking from his body.

"Why did you decide to join the school?": "Well, They are sending me here to this school with the hope of me understanding this thing with other people somewhat like me, As well as the home schooling thing not working out, Well I hope this will better me with what I have."

I'd say you come in a little late. Class hasn't technically started yet in the RP, so you coming in later than everyone else should be fine.

We've made it to a point where it's a lot easier to introduce new characters, and a few people have dropped out, so I'm officially reopening this.

So, there's a slot or two open, eh? Welp, character time! Though I noticed it's been over 10 days since you posted that announcement, so I guess I might've screwed up on the timing, but oh well, I'll understand if that's the reason you declined my character.

• Name: Nastya Maximovna Petrov
• Age: 17
• Appearance:
  • Has stark white hair done in the wolf cut hairstyle and pinkish eyes. The reason for her hair and eye color being the way they are is because she's albino.
  • Wears a black jacket with a brown fur collar, a white shirt, grey ripped jeans, black fingerless gloves, ebony combat boots, and glasses.
  • She also physically resembles◊ the ill-fated Grand Duchess, Anastasia Romanov which is far more than a funny coincidence.
• Personality:
  • If she was a DND character, Nastya would be considered Chaotic Good. She is a free-spirited, energetic woman with a side of rebellion thrown in, who only wants to have fun. However, she isn't exactly the most mature woman in the world.
  • She's quite loud and likes speaking what's on her mind, even if it's somewhat blunt.
  • Nastya is known for being mischievous, playing pranks on others, often making jokes on the fly and can be sarcastic at times.
  • She's good at making friends and in fact, she's somewhat devoted to the closest of her friends.
  • Despite her excitable attitude, Nastya hates it whenever she gets flashbacks to the more traumatic memories of her past life which appear every now and then. She'll be in a sour mood because of them. She's been trying to find ways to cope with them as she knows it's impossible to stop them entirely.
  • Whenever someone is bleeding excessively, Nastya would do anything in her power to treat their wounds and stop the bleeding. Even if it's exaggerated, she'll make a big deal about this.
• Powers/Oddities (All of the names were coined by Nastya):
  • Grand Duchess - Round Two!: The main thing about Nastya is that she happens to be the reincarnation of Anastasia Romanov. As a result, she has Anastasia's memories and personality while physically resembling her. Nastya occasionally gets flashbacks about the said memories and if she ends up encountering something that'll remind her of Anastasia's life (such as being held at gunpoint and seeing someone bleed excessively), the flashbacks appear instantly.
  • Big Brain Time - Nastya is a very intelligent girl, using her intellect to come up with pranks, inventions, and snarky one-liners. She even created three little robot assistants named after Anastasia's sisters (Olga, Tatiana, and Maria) - more info on them under Robo-Sisters.
  • Pew-pew Immunity AKA You Can't Die That Way Twice - Ironically, Nastya is somehow immune to bullets and she doesn't know why. The bullets would just bounce off her. While this is useful, she still doesn't like to end up in situations involving guns since that'll bring up the most traumatic memories.
  • Robo-Sisters - Nastya's robot assistants. They accompany her whenever she goes and help her out. Appearance-wise, they resemble M-O from WALL•E expect they have stubby arms and legs and they have a color scheme (red for Olga; blue for Tatiana; yellow for Maria). They have their own personalities that are lifted off Anastasia's sisters:
    • Olga: Usually laid back but can be quite emotional and impulsive.
    • Tatiana: A stern robot who is the most mature of the bunch. She often scolds Nastya when she's in her mischievous mood and reminds her to be responsible.
    • Maria: Kind and helpful. She is empathic about what others are feeling, especially Nastya and the other two robots.
  • "My glasses! I can't see without my glasses!" - The most mundane of her oddities. Due to her albinism, she can't see well without glasses. If she loses then, chances are she'll be on the floor trying to look for them. Her eyes are also sensitive to light, so a flashbang will very well blind her.
• Backstory:
  • Nastya was born as the result of a ritual a supernatural Russian cult performed in order to reincarnate the 1st wife of Ivan the Terrible who happened to be named Anastasia Romanova. They did it in order to appease their leader, who's the reincarnation of that particular Tsar. However, during a ritual where they take souls from the afterlife, they got the wrong Anastasia and placed the soul inside a pregnant woman.
  • When Nastya, one of the cult's priests realized they indeed reincarnated the wrong Anastasia. An undercover Russian agent, Maxim Petrov, who's been pretending to be a member said he'll ditch the baby. Soon afterward, he spilled the beans to the Russian equivalent to the Men In Black, called the Midnight Watch.
  • After the cult was busted by the Midnight Watch, Maxim was planning to put Nastya in an orphanage but his wife convinced him to adopt her.
  • Around the age of 5, Nastya's house was broken in during the middle of the night. Nastya herself was up as she was getting a glass of water. The robber proceeded to shoot her, which failed as the bullet bounced off, but it triggered her past life's memories for the first time. After the now frightened robber ran away, her parents went to comfort her. Maxim then told Nastya what she is.
  • By the time Nastya turned 16, she and her family moved to Little Haven as Maxim had heard of Oddity High even though he's aware of how absolutely nuts the principal is, but the reason they moved was for her safety; the Russian government wanted to experiment on the supernatural stuff the Midnight Watch acquired, which included Nastya, and turn them into weapons. It took about a year of getting settled in and talking with the staff of Oddity High, before Nastya managed to start attending.
• "Why did you decide to join the school?": "Well, my dad insisted that I attend that school since there will be people that are kinda like me and with their abilities, I'll be extra safe. Also, no, it has nothing to do with my albinism. In fact, that's probably the most normal part about me." Nastya proceeds to wink after she said that as she pulls out a paper that lists her oddities.

Name: Noah Rodriguez

Age: 15

Appearance: Short blonde mop of hair, green eyes, and a forehead scar. Noah is about 6'3" and is usually very well dressed, wearing things like suits and polo pants. He's scrawny in build, and has a small gap in his teeth. He also usually rolls up his sleeves on shirts, and has a self-done tattoo of a poker chip on his left palm.

Personality: Noah is a natural salesman, and maybe con artist. He can sell pretty much any thing or concept with enough determination and effort. He also has a huge love of gambling, having grown up in Vegas. Despite all this flashy surface layer stuff, he also is incredibly loyal and will stick by his allies unless they completely shatter his trust or belief in them. Strongly believes in not sugarcoating things, as well as individuality and being a man of his word. Has migraines when over-stressed, and (if okay) occasionally uses alcohol to cope with said stress.

Power/Oddity: Noah is capable of inducing hallucinations in anyone who makes direct eye contact, at his discretion. When inducing hallucinations, his eyes widen and become a vibrant yellow. Usually uses this when someone disrespects him/hurts his pride or tries to get out of a deal.

Backstory (optional): Noah isn't too sure how he got his powers, but he knows roughly when. Years ago, after getting a migraine and running into the forest to cool off, he got dizzy and blacked out. In the midst of falling in and out of consciousness, something stood above him, ink black and probably 8 feet tall or so, with large, round, glowing eyes. As soon as it was out of his sight, he felt a sharp pain in his back, and woke up in his bed. After that point, he accidentally affected a teacher who angered him, driving them to run away screaming. He spent the next few years honing his control over it, and seeing an ad for Oddity High, figured "hey, why not?" He applied and hoped for the best.

"Why did you decide to join the school?": Well, seeing as this place seems filled with folks just as freaky as me, I'll take any opportunity to fit in that I can get. Plus, I thought it might be a nice bit of entertainment, but y'know.
