BUPKIS. Current sucks (it's illegible on mobile and low quality besides) and there's little to no way to illustrate this without overlap with Damage-Sponge Boss.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Cropped an HD screenshot:
...So what is a Damage-Sponge Boss anyway and how is it different from Marathon Boss? The description for Damage-Sponge Boss seems to contradict itself. The first paragraph says that it's "a basic type of boss, basically a standard enemy with higher health and stats", while the second paragraph seems to imply that it's a boss that takes an especially long time to defeat.
Anyway, I like and 25.

A Damage Sponge only has a ton of HP.
A Marathon Boss is an incredibly long boss, which can be due to HP or some other reason like multiple forms or a gimmick that extends the fight more than it should. It's a Super-Trope.

Original the Signature. Do not steal.Crowner's hooked.
Votes bump; one in the green right now.
In that instance, I feel like the current caption is necessary, since it points out all the additional gimmicks that lead to the boss fight's ridiculous length. Simply illustrating/pointing out the boss's enormous health pool only shows Damage-Sponge Boss, which is also currently illustrated by a "ridiculously large health bar" image.
... until SUDDENLY DINOSAURS.I think Damage-Sponge Boss needs a TRS or something. This is the second paragraph from Damage-Sponge Boss, and it's basically describing Marathon Boss.
Not really. A Damage-Sponge Boss can have gimmicks of its own are tied to its HP like healing or high defense. It wouldn't be a good damage sponge otherwise.
Again, the Marathon Boss is defined by length. The Damage Sponge is defined by HP. Different concepts, which are clearly defined by their names.
A boss with 5 forms is not a Damage Sponge. Nor a giant boss where most of the fight consists of a half-hour Colossus Climb. Or a particularly complex Puzzle Boss. I've personally met those 3 examples in my gaming life. Meanwhile, there are Damage Sponges that are simple enough you won't take very long to defeat, although the fight will likely be boring anyway.
There are plenty of examples to differentiate it. Damage Sponge again is a subtrope, meaning overlaps will always exist.
Marathon Boss does need folders though.

Original the Signature. Do not steal. Then why is our leading suggestion (28 as if this post) completely reliant on the HP bar?

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Because all suggestions rely on health bar. I don't like either suggestions BTW.
The universe is under no obligation to make sense to us.As I said before, it's very difficult to illustrate that a boss is long without showing absurd HP (which is the territory of the Damage-Sponge Boss). The problem lies more in the nature of images.
Theoretically, there are other ways, but I dunno if I can ever find the right image.
Original the Signature. Do not steal. One more bump; two in the green, one vote separating them.
