Gonna need some mod intervention in the Stigmatized Princess Heroine draft. The argument between NubianSatyress and Sirena is getting too heated, with the former even admitting that they're veering dangerously close to being a dick territory. Nubian is also being passive-aggressive with their rebuttals to Sirena to the point in their most recent comment, they said they'll just straight-up disagree with them without coming to a consensus.

Nubian sort of does that a lot on and off the TLP, tbh. They once got so caught up in a dumb debate about Deadpool that they started taking it to my PMs afterward. Part of me wants to catch up with the debate to try and help moderate (heh, that rhymed), but another part of me thinks it'll be a bad idea and that we need a mod to speak up instead. Plus, I know shit about the trope so there's nothing substantial I could add anyway.

Not even the first long issue with that poor draft.

Not sure where else to bring this up but Segal 991 has been doing that thing of bumping old TLP drafts, sometimes without adding anything new to the discussion. I know another troper (Noah 1) got criticized for similar behavior.

Rock Raider is doing it too.

Requesting a mod discard for this draft.

I wanted to discard that as soon as I saw the title but held off because people thought it could be worth splitting Trauma Button (which I'm personally unsure about, as many examples of Trauma Button are already oddly specific).

Now the bombs are rolling in as I expected and it's clearly not worth it. I'm also extremely uncomfortable with the casual way the sponsor is using their friend's apparent sexual abuse as an example to cheerily propose a new trope, but that's neither here nor there.

Like, the concept might be workable but the draft isn't.

New tool for me. I think I did it right. This ties into my suggestion that first-stage drafts can't be voted on.

This draft seems like a deliberate troll draft to attract bombs. It's nothing but "SpongeBob" on the title, laconic and description.

We may have an excessive hatting issue with Stock Lolita Vampire Queen. It's only been around for half a day and, as of this writing, it already attracted five hats. However, the draft clearly has issues such as a poor laconic, a description that doesn't cover non-Japanese examples and a wrong Trope Codifier.

Requesting a hat check for this draft. It has 10 hats for absolutely no reason, given that there's only four on-page examples and not a lot of time has passed.

All of the tropers who added a hat to that draft are active editors, with the OP as pretty much the least active editor on the wiki, and they've got several hundred edits.

Weird. Very weird.

Actually, I find it reassuring that it's merely a factor of having a large number of tropers that aren't always good editors (ZCE, Fan Myopia, lack of crosswicking, etc...) instead of having people knowingly trying to circumvent the rules.

Yeah, it just always weirds me out when one draft arbitrarily gets all the attention. If it was every single draft or specific kinds of drafts I'd be less concerned, but it's just entirely random as far as I can tell.

Or, maybe I'm just salty because drafts I put my blood, sweat and tears into never get hats that quickly.

It's been proven that for a lot of tropes; a draft only has to look superficially good enough to get a hat. A draft with a concept people like, decent description, and 3 or more examples attracts hats even if there's a lot of issues below the surface.

This one started getting hats before even having more than one example, I think, which is even odder.

Oh I missed that.Well, sometimes you just need a concept that people like then haha. To some people, hating means “this should be a trope”.

That's a bug that happens when the draft's too long, I think.

Once again, we've got people being really bomb happy and snarky on a draft, this time being Himbo. I'm at my wits end with this; no matter how hard I try, people refuse to be a little bit more restrained. They just keep flocking to these bad drafts and throwing bombs and comments at them, and ignore drafts that actually need attention.

One troper who's popped up a lot regarding this is SN1063, who I've brought up before.

Not to mention there's legitimate discussion on whether the concept can be salvaged, which gets ignored when people get bomb-happy.

(I felt a little guilty commenting on that "Foot Stomp" draft that it was very likely posted to fulfill the OP's fetish, because it did bring attention to the draft that probably wasn't productive, but then I quickly requested an early discard anyway.)
