Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem (2023)

Turtle Power just got so strong that it made the movie come out two days early, because it's now coming on August 2, 2023 instead of August 4th!

EDIT: Oh, and I guess Turtle Power scored us a new poster too!

I'm liking the art style much more than I thought. Some of the human designs could look way too outlandish for a more realistic style, but this Grunge, sketchy Painted CGI makes them feel organic.

So the villain is basically the TMNT equivalent of Magneto?

Well that explains how they squeeze so many toys characters into one movie. The only one unaccountable are Stockman and Cynthia.

Huh so neither Cynthia or Stockman are the main villain. Their using this superfly dude.

And then it turns out that Superfly is Stockman's Stand or something.

I'm sure Cynthia Utrom is the Greater-Scope Villain, a seemingly human millionaire bankrolling the mutants or something, and then a stinger has her open up her body to reveal she's Krang (cause let's be honest, who else would she be with that name?)

I just hope they don't try to make the Utroms evil (and call them all Krang) again.

Did Ice Cube as Superfly rap one of his old songs in trailer? Nice Actor Allusion.

This movie is a set-up for a cartoon, right? I wonder what that show will look like because there is no way they keeping that art style.

Scumbag among Mutant Gang feels to me like odd man out because a) he is easily the most obscure b) we haven't heard about his VA so it seems like he's mute and c) besides Bebop, Rocksteady and Fly Mutant, all members started evil only to quickly reform or were occasionally portrayed as evil but are better known as heroes. Scumbag is the only side-mutant who was always evil.

During the recent Annecy Animation Film Festival in France, a unfinished cut of the film has been highly praised by attendees. This is paired with an interview with the film's director, Jeff Rowe, and Nickelodeon's Executive Vice President of Animation Production and Development, Ramsey Naito.

Guillermo del Toro, while announcing that he'll slowly pivot towards doing animated features, specifically hopes that this film's success, along with The Super Mario Bros. Movie and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, will serve as "trojan horses" to promote diverse visions for future mainstream animated films.

I know people are saying a series is next, but I REALLY hope we get a theatrical sequel.

TBH: I feel like Nick needs to give stuff like Jimmy Neutron theatrical sequels.

Pizza Hut's teaming up with the Turtles again to deliver pizza through specific parts of the New York City subway system. Furthermore, an augmented reality tie-in game that allows players to beat up some of the mutants featured in the film.

Wow. That might be the ugliest version of stockmans human form. Like its weird but I think Giancarlo looks fairly similar already to his traditional idw, 2003 and mirage look.

Mutating him into a fly would be an act of mercy
