I can imagine a lot of stoner comedy , like if Mikey starts hallucinating when he eats a bad slice of pizza.
And thus my point about Seth Rogen's shitty humor is proven.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.I'll wait for a trailer before I make any judgments.
I'm not that familiar with Seth Rogen beyond one of his voice roles and his other animated film Sausage Party (which I didn't see much of, but didn't really enjoy), so I'm gonna try and be fair.
I've kind of learned my lesson about judging something before any marketing materials such as trailers have come out after Rise (which is honestly pretty awesome. Not for everyone, but I like it.).
Rogen is only listed as a producer not a writer or director so it's not a given that this is going to be a "stoner movie (with turtles)."
"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."It looks like the movie is coming out August 11, 2023. Seth Rogen posted about it on Twitter.

Hearing the words "Mikey" and "Seth Rogen" in the same verbal space makes me recoil in anticipation. I hope the entire thing is not just an unfunny stoner joke.
"I like girls, but now, it's about justice."Just a heads-up, the movie will be directed by Jeff Rowe, who holds the distinction of being one of the co-directors for The Mitchells vs. The Machines, so silver lining for anyone getting nervous for this movie because Seth Rogen's the producer.
He also worked on Gravity Falls, which is another good sign of the movie being good.
And Seth Rogen helped to make The Boys, so the action’s most likely going to be good too.
It's been 3000 years…I don't know if The Boys (2019) is a mirror any TMNT adaptation wants to look at itself in, considering its tone.

"I like girls, but now, it's about justice."He also produces Invincible (2021). He has had a weirdly good executive producing career recently.
Honestly a darker and edgier Mirage era/2003 style tmnt film does sound like it would be interesting if that's what were getting.

"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."I'm gonna say nah on that.
I really don't need Darker and Edgier and/or Bloodier and Gorier turtles. The reason the classic series underwent Adaptation Displacement in regards to the comics was because they were sillier and more fun.
Compound that with the fact that recent attempts at "gritty reboots" of kids' franchises have been absolutely atrocious (see Fate: The Winx Saga or that horrendous leaked CW script for a live-action The Powerpuff Girls), I'd really rather they didn't.
In fact I'd very much enjoy a new TMNT series more in line with the 1987 incarnation. That's in fact my favorite and none of the subsequent series have quite been able to hit the exact tone.

"I like girls, but now, it's about justice."Eh I'd rather something more 2003 in terms of tone or at least look.
Not a fan of 1987's whole style.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I remember I used to find 2003 boring as a kid. I didn't start liking the TMNT until one channel started rerunning the 1987 series.
"I like girls, but now, it's about justice."I consider the 1987 show as I consider the other classic cartoon shows like Transformers, He-Man, and Thundercats.
Fine enough shows then but franchises and the cartoon medium have improved a lot since and nostalgia towards such old programs is more a hinderance than anything.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I agree that I'd prefer something more along the lines of the 2003 series.
1987 could be fun (I recently had a chance to watch it again), but that doesn't mean you can't do something closer to the source material.
Both series have their merit however. Rather than choosing one over the other, why not take the best stuff from both and make something new.
One Strip! One Strip! To be fair, I was a late-90s kid who had a lot of more "modern" stuff to watch. But I still enjoyed the 1987 series. Must not have held up too badly.
The unabashed love for 2003 sort of puzzles me because again I never truly enjoyed it as a kid. That is pure nostalgia talking, but what can ya do.
In any case, I'll take anything as long as it doesn't end up looking like The Boys or Invincible. Eep.
"I like girls, but now, it's about justice."2003 Turtles were my starting point for the Heroes in a Half-Shell, but 2012 and Rise's aesthetics grew on me quite a lot, so I'm fine with either or.
I somehow doubt that Rogen is going to go for Bodycount style violence.
And yes that was a canon TMNT story. Raph and Casey,
I hope they lean for a more 2012 feel, where there's a good balance of 87's fun factor and 03's seriousness.
Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonPerfect tone IMO. (Though it begs the question of what Rise's tone was. Yeah, it started off as high-octane energy with immature humor, but towards the end of season 2, stuff hit the fan REAL HARD. Like cripes, man!)
If they go for a 2012 feel, I hope they don't go for a 2012 look. That's the worst the turtles have ever looked, IMO.
"I like girls, but now, it's about justice."I also prefer the 2012 feel where it knows when to be serious and when to kick back and eat a slice.
It's been 3000 years…I kinda lost track of 2012, and only watched a bit of rise.
I've heard good things of the latter, and the former did seem to try harder to blend the styles.
One Strip! One Strip!
Most of his "comedy" movies. Which are basically all the same thing. I anticipate a lot of the same shitty kind of humor from this, animated or not.
