I saw that announcement in ATT, but isn’t that not what ATT is for? It doesn't say anything about it being for announcing cut tropes.

We've used it for announcing TRS threads for high-profile tropes before. In fact, I believe that this thread was advertised on there at least once.

It's a new thing people have been trying in order to get the word out. The mods approved it.

We used to have a site-wide news thing over on the left for this sort of thing, but it wasn't used much, and I don't think the mods can access it now.

But not everyone checks ATT, willing or unwilling. Are you guys sure there isn’t a better way of getting the word out? It just kind of feels like it’s derailing ATT’s purpose, since it’s not asking tropers about a problem or question, it’s just telling people what’s happening on the site.

I've changed the Page Type under the Page Info of Bi The Way from a trope to a disambig.

Just saw that someone else added an example to Characters.High School Story Choices. I would ping them, but I don't know if you can ping someone whose name starts with a number, so I'll DM them instead.

On a related note, we could really use a bulletin that says this isn't a trope anymore.

Pretty most popular tropes over 1000 get added back by people who do dont to the actual pages itself. I still periodically clean eye color trope wicks even years after they have been disambiguated so we are going to have to moniter Bi The Way's wicks after the clean up is done because people are still going to add them anyway.

But yeah a bulletin could help

No, it's just gonna be a disambig now. If we want to make a new trope, we can just start in TLP irregardless of this.

So we’re just like deleting all the wicks that are in the related page section for this trope?

There's a few we're keeping, like the ones on tropers' personal sandboxes and the link in Ambiguity Index (which is explicitly for disambiguation pages like this one), but yeah, we're removing all the wicks on work pages.

I removed the entry on Crappy Trope Definitions, because Bi The Way is no longer a trope and has no "correct" definition. It was then added back, now with a note saying that it no longer a trope. I don't see the point in having an entry for a page that is not a trope on this list, but want to avoid an edit war. Should the entry be removed?

I'd say so. Keeping it around even with a note is just pointlessly misleading.

Yeah, I don't think we have any other disambiguated former tropes on there.
