Welcome to HGS: Another Side Another Story. It is a roleplay spinoff for the Hunger Games Simulator forum game, akin to both the RP's in the Roleplaying section as well as the ITTs in Forum Games. It tells the story of the Hunger Games in the Arena of Panem, the nominators who sent the tributes, the tributes themselves both in and out of the Arena or even other people relevant to the Games. In addition, it also tells their stories beyond the Arena.
You can jump right in with any character, like your nominator self, your tributes, etc. The structure of this RP will be open-world. Don't worry about not being skilled/experienced enough or being new to RP'ing. Finally, ASAS accepts any skill level or RP style. Other than these, there are some important rules to note, which are:
- No godmodding will be allowed or tolerated here. The offending player will be given punishment depending on the severity.
- Please communicate anything important you plan on another player with the said player first. Don't just execute it without their consent.
- Don't be rude to other players, both out and in-universe. This extends to RP offenses like railroading, guilt-tripping, coercing, or other forms of forcing them.
- This RP is related to the Hunger Games Simulation:Beyond the Possibilities forum game. Thus it will have events based from that game, including the tributes. This means if you want to RP as tributes, please nominate them officially on the thread first, with misses not being counted. This has to be done after an incident with a player who hasn't joined the game itself yet.
- Since this RP is Loose Canon in relation to the main HGS thread, the host's interpretation of events isn't necessarily 100% canon. Every player has the right to deviate from what the host says and go with their own interpretations. If multiple players have their tributes involved in the same event(s), please communicate with each other so that you're on the same page regarding how you see them.
- This RP chronicles the lives of the nominators and their tributes behind the scenes. While dark plots are acceptable, the overall tone of the RP should be light-hearted and comedic. This RP is not a Cosmic Horror Story or action story about defeating evil. It is a Slice of Life comedy with some adventure to it, first and foremost. Our previous RP, Convergence, is not representative of the intended tone, and the grimdark tone of that RP is one of the main reasons it was retooled.
- Nominators and tributes alike can transform into Pokemon whenever they enter a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon World (but they can bypass this with certain items/methods or shapeshifting) or via other means outside it such as a season event, Transformation Trinkets, or shapeshifting. The players are free to choose the Pokéforms that best suit their characters and even give them color schemes outside the standard and Shiny colors, but there is a hard rule for this. If you want your character's Pokéform to be a Legendary, Mythical, or Ultra Beast, please ask the RP mods for approval. Outside the Arena, these Pokéforms are still OP, but we want to give leeway for tributes who theoretically can have them such as deities.

Detective Gamechanger's Base
A sharp-dressed man in a green suit and yellow tie is standing by the entrance of the base. He is of average height and has whitish skin, though still a bit darker. He is Billy, one of the nominators and the organizer of the party.
Indeed, after the nominators' returned and settled their problems, they decide to have fun with a party. Billy also sent invites for all the other nominators out there, as well as basically anyone else, including tributes, non associated parties, interested nominators who haven't participate yet, or even those who just wants to hang out.
The place itself in the base is refurbished for party purposes. Fancy chairs and tables are set everywhere for people to relax, as well as put food and other objects for the latter. There's also various collections showcased, including those belonging to the Detective, like his classic cars. Various themes to the base are set too, including detective noir as GC would have preferred.
Billy is now awaiting for other guests to arrive. He is also ready to give them a pleasant surprise during the party pertaining to his nation.

GC's Base
"Aww, hi!" Zanreo and Neptune hug Kirby back, and then greet Mr. Star. "So you're Mr. Star... don't think we've met before! And cool wings!"Then, another update happened... this time, her Pokemon were attacked by Deneve, but turns out all of them were holding a Return Postage Badge, causing Deneve's attack to be reflected back with half the damage. ...Where did they all get a badge from, anyway? Later, Paintra started turning all the Pokemon into monsters... except this didn't actually do much, as they were all monsters to start with.
Meanwhile, Ika then turns towards the members of the Blue Pun Clan. "Oh... what's this about a group?" she replies. "I seeeee... you've already seen my greatness and want to work with me? Alright! Let's get kraken on taking over this party! ...Ooh, is that..." She then shoots out her tentacles towards the snack table to grab a bunch of shrimp, shoving them into her mouth. "Mmmmm... shrimp..."

"heya squid girl," says Sans as he grabs a Grillby's burger and points to Cirno, "there's anotha challenger here, so... three-way-pun-off?"
"I know," says 6k1 to Psyche. "And I am concerned about their powers because that's against the Bag of Spilling Rule: any powers or weapons acquired by a tribute within a season can't be carried over in their next."
She pauses. "I don't want to instill panic in you or anyone else here, but I'd like you to be the one of the first to know..."
She slowly breaks the news about Zorua's future tributes.
"Basically... they're Timey 2.0."
Toriel stops hugging Psyche and leaves.

She then left.
GC's Base
Mr. Star then replies to 6k1. "How exactly do you know that?"
Marx's Cabin
Marx is watching the current season. His two elites check on him, and asks him about today's plans.
"Same as always, girl. To cause mischief and chaos everywhere i go!"
A loudspeaker turns on, and a female voice emerges.
"Master, T-Doll army reporting, and we got some footage of someone making a plan."
The screen than changes to reveal Zorua planning the nomination with her friends.
"And who is that, exactly?"
"A fellow mischief-maker, perhaps? Someone who wants to cause chaos, just like you do!"
"Hmmmm..."

The group continues their journey. They find themselves in a clearing, and they all decide to take a break, with Frisk SAVING as usual. The base is just up ahead.
GC's Base
"That's one of the rules of the Hunger Games. Every nominator should have the official rulebook in hand. Unless you meant the other thing I said, so..."
6k1 opens her phone and shows Mr. Star the transcript of Zorua's plans that they made back in the Arena.
"If they're gonna follow the footsteps of Timewrecker... we're basically doomed. Again."

As the group stops to take a break, he checks up on what's happening in the Games. So far, Starkiller was continuing his usual antics and eating Siri-shaped ice cream.
"Hey, Power, why were you so suspicious of that girl from earlier? She didn't exactly strike me as outright evil or anything, so... is something bothering you?"

Outside the party
Still tampering with the watch, he finally manages to shut it up. "Why did I even pick you up? I've had you for 2 seconds and you're already getting on my nerves. Annoying little thing," he says, as he finally manages to knock on the door hoping he gets invited inside.
At the games
The deathseeker that she is, Deneve decides to make a dramatic entry to this season by going towards the large pack of various animals, as well as monsters, rapidly slashing around with grace as she lets herself go and enjoys the moment, hoping that one lucky creature will get a blow in and destroy her permanently. Unfortunately for her, they were all in possession of a Postage Badge, which causes a bunch of injuries to suddenly appear on her body as blood spews out from every orifice in her body, her limbs falling down to the ground as she plops down, seemingly defeated. Luckily for her, none of the Pokemon decide to finish her off and she has subtle time to regenerate...
Outside the party
His watch starts flashing again on Deneve's silhouette, this time with no X, as the man stares down dumbfounded. "What's your deal?! I don't understand what you want me to do. Am I supposed to save them? If not, stop ruining my peace," he yells out, fixing the watches beeping yet again, as he sits down on the ground in front of the base.
At the games yet again
After regenerating, she decides to set out on a quest in a search for the meaning of her being here. She gets into water, swimming in the middle of a clearing as she lays down on the impromptu boat, spending the day in the middle of the water. After waking up, the first thing she sees is a person deliberating meeting the gaze of Medusa, who slithers away immediately after petrifying the random tribute. "Wow... That sure is a dumb way to die," Deneve mutters to herself as she lays down back on her boat.
Outside the base
"HELLO!?!? CAN ANYBODY HEAR ME?" he yells out, still awaiting a reply. It appears he was stuck in a limbo where he didn't know where he was, didn't know what the watch meant and didn't know if there were any other people existed in this area except for him. From his point of view, he was created solely to suffer.

"Well, from what I know about the Kirby Universe, she's one of the Three Mage-Sisters, and they're part of a cult called the Jamba Heart."
Power looks at Frisk, who's setting up the campfire.
"I know Frisk wants to befriend her, but they shouldn't be too trusting of everyone..."
"I agree with you, Power," says Ralsei as he scoots beside her. "You tell me when we tried convincing the King to stop his evil plans..."
She continues watching the Games, where a lot of tributes get angry for no reason.
"Are they just mad that they're forced to fight each other to death?"
She also sees Snow commit suicide after Veradux makes fun of his many deaths. She gets her notebook and adds +1 to the Snow Death Counter. It reads:
Snow has died 36 times since the first Reboot season (39 including the times he was a tribute). Most of them were actually Snowclones, but I refuse to believe that...

"Yup,I'm also going to that party of yours. I would've like to stick with you but we're kinda busy. After all that place isn't called the Lost Woods for nothing, there's a lot of Snow's experiments here, wandering around and begging to be killed." Scipion answered as the roars in the distance still continued.
Parting ways with the group, Scipion rushed to see the rest of his party finishing off a giant worm. "So, is there any monsters left?"
"Nope. That forest is clean now." replied Firebrand, holding a goblin's skull with his feet. "Then let's go." said Scipion.
As they walked, the Dark Star not knowing that much about the Deltarune's universe wondered to itself Ralsei... From what I have heard, he is called the Prince of the dark and is from a dark kingdom as well... How curious. I should ask him about any of his dark powers...
He then approached Giegue. "I have to inform you that the human named Ninten and the Chosen Fours will be at this reunion."
Giegue said nothing as he stopped , shocked before moving worried and frustrated. Even if they were alternate versions, he still resented Ninten, considering him as the responsible for his madness and was afraid of the Chosen Fours since they killed him. Giegue still had Giygas inside of him ever since he was resurrected by Scipion and the last thing he wanted was to become that horror again.
"I... should rather not speak with them, or maybe even see them. It's best for me and everyone..."

"Ah... I kinda forgot about that rule..." says Psyche. "I just wanted to make things more interesting from a storytelling standpoint." She looks quite thoughtful. "But if I'd just removed Jimin's powers, he wouldn't have attacked my fanfic school. And I don't know how to get rid of V's immortality or make him die for real..." She smiles a little. "But I hope Suga's powers proved to be useful when he was trying to bring Jimin home."
She then listens to 6k1 explain Zorua's plans and gasps. "No way... we seriously have another Timefucker on our hands!?"

"Maybe the Games are just getting to them or something," he says, glancing at Kabal as the mercenary talks with his boss, Kano, on the phone before looking back to Power.

"Unfortunately, yes," says 6k1. "Forgive my inappropriately timed pun. If they're one of our fellow nominators, why would they want to do this? Do they know that we both hate these kinds of tributes? Do they know who Timewrecker really is? Are they just begging to be killed?!"
She takes a few deep breaths and looks around, making sure her tributes didn't hear her. Thankfully they didn't.
"I know I wouldn't wanna kill one of you... outside the Nominator Games, that is, but it has to be said. GC, on the other hand, at least had standards despite his eccentricity. I respect him for that."
She watches Gotchu and the Squeeze Toy Alien do their thing before continuing.
"Anyway, while BTS technically isn't breaking that rule because they're not in the Arena yet, I'm a stickler for it. I also want my tributes to live normal lives outside the Games."
The Lost Woods
Frisk starts the fire and gets some marshmallows. They pass the bag around to everyone and give them some Sticks.
"While we wait for Dave and the others, anyone wanna share some stories?"
Monster roars can be heard in the distance. Ralsei hugs Power tight.
"They better not be ghost stories!"
"Oh! Carlos and I have a lot of stories about our field trips!"
"But since you're the one who started this campfire tale session, you go first!"
"Alright, let me tell you about my adventures in the Underground..."

Kabal, having finished his phone call with Kano, stands guard near the camp, hookswords drawn and at the ready.

"Woah, really?" Zanreo replies. "I admittedly never minded the huge groups myself - I mean, guess, who nominated all the Pokemon this season - but "another Timewrecker" certainly sounds like bad news...""As for me..." she continues, "I generally restore my tributes to normal after each game, and wipe their memories... especially regarding any kills they made and such. Not really because of any rule, but because I feel like it would be best for them..."
She then hears a voice from outside the base. "Hey, uh... anyone hear someone yelling? Think we might have another guest, someone should check on that"
"Heh, you're on! Ika says, still eating shrimp. I th-ink I got a pretty good chance here..."

Eredars gets up and paces around for a bit.
"I don't know why the hell this Zoura person would follow in Timewrecker's footsteps. That being said, I've heard rumors of a giant demon cloaked in purple flames planning to get rid of that. No concrete proof, though."
The Arena
The Sinow Spigell digs up Velvet's grave and makes a sandwich using her corpse and some sand
"Some entertainment was had here "
Meanwhile, the Zele buys a bottle of snake oil from Seo Taiji
"Thanks for the oil, dude. I don't know if I'll use it, but when I do, it'd be totally radical."
As the sun rises, the Spigell sees a bull charging at Guy-Manuel. It decides to punch it to make it stop charging. Manuel ends up calling it a fool, sadly.
"Current mood for the organism: Ungrateful and confused."
Meanwhile, the Zele kills four tributes and puts the snake oil to use in the process of making a Frankenstein's monster out of their corpses.
"Totally... radical. Totally.... Radical....."
Its visor flashes red for a second
The moon arrives. The Zele attempts to take a picture of Gotcha, but one of its arms ends up covering the lens.
"Sorry, dude. "
Meanwhile, the Spigell learns how to cook by playing Cooking Mama
The sun rises. The Spigell comes across a heavenly crest. It attaches it to its chest, gaining the ability to shoot beams of light.
"New mechanism acquired."
Meanwhile, the Zele gets blown up.

6k1 turns to Zan, who just joined the conversation. She rolls her eyes upon the latter having a different opinion about these massive groups and being the one behind one of them herself.
"Oh well, to each their own, I guess..."
Eredars then brings up the demon.
"If so, then he must have standards, too...
"Anyway, the memory wipe's also for my tributes' protection, especially if they suffered a lot. Sadly it doesn't work all the time due to the underfunding of the Necromancy Department..."
She also hears some screaming outside.
"If it's a nominator, we should let them in! Provided they don't set off the security systems..."
"well then, it's on! and when it comes to puns... i ain't squiddin' around."

Everyone else likewise roasts their mallows.
"Thankfully 6k1 knows what they're made of, so these are vegan marshmallows..."
"Yeah, would've freaked out if I found out they were made of that one ingredient after biting into one..."
The kids listen intently to Frisk's story. Once the Child's done, everyone claps (or stomps their hooves in Power's case).
"So there's an Asriel in your universe?"
"Yep. He's pretty much my long-lost brother..."
"Well... the one in my universe left for college according to Kris..."
"Lucky for him. Our Asriel must be out somewhere since Mom reunited with him in her first party..."
"I hope your family meets with him again in this one," says Power. "And Asgore, too."
She smiles at that adorable moment. Ah, the Dreemurrs... all back together again...
"Wait a minute..." says D. A. to Ralsei. "Isn't your name... an anagram of 'Asriel'?"
"Huh?"
"Just rearrange the letters!" says Carlos.
Ralsei puts a thinking hand to his chin for a moment.
"Oh... I get it now! Does it mean anything?"
"Who knows?" says D. A.
Carlos chuckles while Frisk and Power wonder what would happen if the two goats ever meet.
"So... who wants to go next?" the Child asks the group.
"Well... since you told me the story about your world, I'll tell you mine!"

Ness is chatting with Paula about the party. Meanwhile, Kirby is eating a burger... by swallowing it whole. Taranza is eating some muffins, while Daroach eats some cheeseburgers.
Mr. Star, meanwhile, asks the DM something.
"So tell me about this Zorua and what she wanted."
Marx's Cabin
Marx is trying to call Zorua. Once contact is established, he tells her this.
"Hey, pal. Are you trying to cause mischief? I like to cause mischief too! Name's Marx, mischief maker extraordinaire! Rap sheet? Caused sun and moon to fight and steal ol' Kirby's wish to make them stop. That boy never saw me coming. Heeheehee!"

Upon seeing the Zele's monster on his tablet, Eredars tells Galis to kill it for him and the other nominators
"We can't have that thing running around. And besides, you have the Omnitrix. So get out there, transform into ol' four arms, and beat the shit outta it. Should be easy."
"Alright, fine."
The Arena
As Galis exits the base, she immediately finds herself face to face with the monster.
"It's time to die again, hybridfucker."
She then uses the Omnitrix to transform into a tall, purple-skinned and thin but muscular four-armed alien. She then rapidly punches the monster.
"Atatatatata, I guess."
Upon the final punch, she uppercuts it, launching it into the border, electrocuting it and making the corpses used in it fall into pieces. She then reverts back into her regular form.
"And that's that."
"At first, I was like "hmmm, yeah, buff choccy bunny." But bro: I don't think it's a joke anymore..."
Zorua's Base
A little while after Kano departs from the base, NOV-4 teleports back inside where Zorua's waiting, carrying with it some news.
Apologies for the sudden intrusion. This may be something you need to know.
What is it, Nova?
As you already might have noticed, there appears to be someone from the outside observing our activities.
Zorua rolls their eyes. Look, there's probably a bunch of people out there spying on us anyway. The base is bugged, whatever, don't we do that to everyone and their grandmas all the time? You should know, of all people.
Ah, this time is...different. They're currently trying to contact us.
They raise an eyebrow. Oh? Put the guy through.
As you wish... I'll send through their message now.
As soon as he finishes his pitch, Zorua starts laughing hysterically.
Marx? That backstabbing purple bastard? THE very one Shintarou's soda killed with a blood transfusion? Oh, jeez, this is building up to be something, alright. Tell him I'm interested.
NOV-4 opens contact with Marx on their end of the line.
It seems that the young master wishes to know more about your plans. If that was an offer of an alliance...do tell, what are your goals, exactly?
Well, that’d be jus’ a waste. Why would ya want to deprive the world of such anomaly as yourself?

Marx gets an answer. He then replies.
"So, you want to be buddies, huh? Well, i'm going to cause chaos to this place. And to clobber that there Kirby. Hehehehehe..."

Dave said nothing to Scipion's comments and continued on his way with his group. Secretly, however, he wondered to himself if the Zoroark might actually be afraid of him.
When Zan Partizanne showed up, Dave immediately didn't trust her, as are his group, in particular Riku and Kairi. However, she left before they could make their opinions known.
Soon enough, the group reaches the clearing where the others are. "Sorry for the wait. Had a couple plot points that needed ironing out. Anyway, are we telling stories now? If y'all don't mind, we'd like to join in.... after everyone else, of course," he says.
Det. GC's Base
Fira, who happens to be hearing some parts of the explanations, asks "Is there something wrong?"
In another area, Nemo is just doing his own thing when he suddenly sees the Ramon family approaching. "Hmm? You seem rather anxious. What is it?"
Meanwhile, Starlight and Starfall grimace at the mention of the V Incident.
"Tell me about it. I had seen the live feeds. Calling it a pain beyond compare would be a massive understatement of the millennium."
"Ugh, yeah. He didn't even do anything wrong...."
Hope: "Let's go. We'll be together." Lightning: "I only know... that soon, we'll be together."
An eagle
The Arena
Orin encounters a copy of the Alexa speaker. Immediately, she gets a thought to clone them all. She sees a strange machine nearby and throws the Alexa into it, cloning the Alexa into 20.000. Angus then appears and proceed to destroy all of them, powering him up somehow while Orin cheers for Angus.
Then in the next day, Orin feels disgusted at what a Sinow Zele did. She immediately finds a phone and calls an airstrike on the Sinow Zele's camp. It then happens as a bomber drops a bomb in the shape of a donkey statue, blasting the whole camp into a crater alongside the Sinow Zele and it's Frankenstein monster. After this deed is done, Orin collects the souls of the Sinow Zele's victims in a wheelbarrow.
Detective Gamechanger's Base
Cirno looks at Sans and Ika and responds, "I'm going to show that I am the strongest and best ice fairy." She then says, "I'm going to show you I'm the overlord of puns. I'll make your midsummer to midwinter through the fallvasion. And you'll beg me for the midspring, but then I'll spring you from the pun master title!"
Meanwhile, Billy receives a notification that more guests are entering. He then sees the ones with good intent being processed, including a lot of his tributes. They are particularly Jolyne, Nidorohan, Kiko, Mr. Somat, Ray, Michael, Kirk and his group, Spectralon, Vantablack, Remilia and her group, Hat Kid, Gloria, Judy, Spongebob and his group, Jojo!Upin and Ipin, and Asgore. In addition, Satori, Koishi and Utsuho are also arriving, as well as Yukari, Ran and Chen. Then Eirin, Kaguya, Reisen, and Tewi also come too. And finally, Miko and Byakuren and their whole groups arrive, as well as Yuyuko and Youmu. The guests are dressed in varying clothing for the party. Due to the free dress style, they have a lot of freedom. In particular, Satori and Koishi decide to wear maid uniforms for it while Utsuho wears western style schoolgirl uniform. The guests can also see that both Satori and Koishi's third eyes have a lense like object over them. It's Billy's special goggle for them that will prevent them from reading other's minds without sacrificing their consciousness.
As the guests greet everyone and Satori, Koishi and Utsuho all watch Orin's gimmicks while Yukari approaches Sans, Billy decides to relay the new arrivals what are said earlier, with Yukari commenting that she was the one who saved V. Billy then voices his opinions on Zorua first, saying "Yeah, she looks nihilistic and does not care much for the world. I agree that she should be stopped if she goes too far."
Billy then talks about how he treats his tributes, "For me, I usually do not wipe their memories. I just suppress them when needed, but for the most part, they retain it, with rehabilitation being used too as with Scolippi. By the way, he is not a furry and skeleton cultist anymore fortunately. I also order them to sign a contract to partner with me as well as give them a place in the Tribute's Village. But otherwise, they have a lot of freedom, including spending time in their own world. At least with the barrier finally down, I don't have to work as hard anymore and have more free time as a shrine maiden. I still have to serve my god and help Yukari though." Marisa then says that Kirby is cute while also taking a sip of beer, while Sanae immediately nerds about the Kirby franchise.

Bale reacted to the mention of the fatidic V Incident.
Bale: Yeah, I remember that, that was such a fun turn of events. I can see why they removed it though. And I found it satisfying when that happened to Timewrecker, thag uy got on my nerves badly
He then awaited everyone else's reactions. Meanwhile Alastor was seen reading a book in the base, uninterested in all that was going down, while Gale tried to start aconversation wtih Starfall and Starlight.
Gale: Hey guys, how's it going?
"Bingo! If two species hate each other, they will wipe each other out on their own."

The Shop of Everything
Vulgrim was beginning to worry about the lack of customers. Thinking about it, he decides to pull out a mega phone, goes outside his shop, and says something.
"Attention, citizens of Panem! Want to buy something, but annoyed that there's too many stores? Well, worry no more, for my shop has literally everything in existence! I have it all, from gaming consoles to food to weapons to artifacts and even forbidden knowledge! Come on down and browse. Although I take souls as currency, I can convert your currency into souls at no cost. I'm no stranger to you killing wild animals and taking their souls to spend here, either."
"At first, I was like "hmmm, yeah, buff choccy bunny." But bro: I don't think it's a joke anymore..."
GC's Base
By the time they have moved away from the other partygoers, Jimin is crying, frustrated and stressed and angry. He realises that he'd blown up and shown his ugly side right in front of Mikey and his father, and his heart sinks down to the pit of his stomach.
The other members comfort him in varying ways. V pulls him into an embrace, while J-Hope makes calming motions along his backside. He can tell that they're all in shock, though.
"Jimin, I'm rather disappointed in you," RM tells him. "I understand you're upset, but you shouldn't have threatened Psyche like that."
"I know," Jimin says quietly. "I'm sorry."
"It's alright. I know it's hard." He glances at the other members. "We can leave the party early if anyone wants. I wasn't expecting it to turn out this way..."
Meanwhile, Psyche says to 6k1, "I hope so too, but... this really is my fault... kinda. I don't provide any sort of tribute aftercare after each season. All their powers, their injuries, their memories... I don't cure or erase them. So..." She gratefully returns Toriel's hug.
Jin nods at Sans and allows him to take his leave. He frowns at Billy and his tributes. "I don't believe that," he says. "I don't believe there's another ARMY out there who'd send us in there if they wanted to."
"There really is," Psyche pipes up. "Well, I don't know for sure if they're an ARMY, but they're out there somewhere, nominating Pdogg and Taiji. They mostly nominate ponies, though."
"Well, that's good to know. Someone else out there gets a kick out of our suffering. One more person to avoid, then."
Psyche sighs. After a moment, she says, "Can you go get the others for me? I... I've made a lot of mistakes with you guys. And I want to apologise."
Jin turns to do so without a word.
