Welcome to HGS: Another Side Another Story. It is a roleplay spinoff for the Hunger Games Simulator forum game, akin to both the RP's in the Roleplaying section as well as the ITTs in Forum Games. It tells the story of the Hunger Games in the Arena of Panem, the nominators who sent the tributes, the tributes themselves both in and out of the Arena or even other people relevant to the Games. In addition, it also tells their stories beyond the Arena.
You can jump right in with any character, like your nominator self, your tributes, etc. The structure of this RP will be open-world. Don't worry about not being skilled/experienced enough or being new to RP'ing. Finally, ASAS accepts any skill level or RP style. Other than these, there are some important rules to note, which are:
- No godmodding will be allowed or tolerated here. The offending player will be given punishment depending on the severity.
- Please communicate anything important you plan on another player with the said player first. Don't just execute it without their consent.
- Don't be rude to other players, both out and in-universe. This extends to RP offenses like railroading, guilt-tripping, coercing, or other forms of forcing them.
- This RP is related to the Hunger Games Simulation:Beyond the Possibilities forum game. Thus it will have events based from that game, including the tributes. This means if you want to RP as tributes, please nominate them officially on the thread first, with misses not being counted. This has to be done after an incident with a player who hasn't joined the game itself yet.
- Since this RP is Loose Canon in relation to the main HGS thread, the host's interpretation of events isn't necessarily 100% canon. Every player has the right to deviate from what the host says and go with their own interpretations. If multiple players have their tributes involved in the same event(s), please communicate with each other so that you're on the same page regarding how you see them.
- This RP chronicles the lives of the nominators and their tributes behind the scenes. While dark plots are acceptable, the overall tone of the RP should be light-hearted and comedic. This RP is not a Cosmic Horror Story or action story about defeating evil. It is a Slice of Life comedy with some adventure to it, first and foremost. Our previous RP, Convergence, is not representative of the intended tone, and the grimdark tone of that RP is one of the main reasons it was retooled.
- Nominators and tributes alike can transform into Pokemon whenever they enter a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon World (but they can bypass this with certain items/methods or shapeshifting) or via other means outside it such as a season event, Transformation Trinkets, or shapeshifting. The players are free to choose the Pokéforms that best suit their characters and even give them color schemes outside the standard and Shiny colors, but there is a hard rule for this. If you want your character's Pokéform to be a Legendary, Mythical, or Ultra Beast, please ask the RP mods for approval. Outside the Arena, these Pokéforms are still OP, but we want to give leeway for tributes who theoretically can have them such as deities.

Detective Gamechanger's Base
A sharp-dressed man in a green suit and yellow tie is standing by the entrance of the base. He is of average height and has whitish skin, though still a bit darker. He is Billy, one of the nominators and the organizer of the party.
Indeed, after the nominators' returned and settled their problems, they decide to have fun with a party. Billy also sent invites for all the other nominators out there, as well as basically anyone else, including tributes, non associated parties, interested nominators who haven't participate yet, or even those who just wants to hang out.
The place itself in the base is refurbished for party purposes. Fancy chairs and tables are set everywhere for people to relax, as well as put food and other objects for the latter. There's also various collections showcased, including those belonging to the Detective, like his classic cars. Various themes to the base are set too, including detective noir as GC would have preferred.
Billy is now awaiting for other guests to arrive. He is also ready to give them a pleasant surprise during the party pertaining to his nation.

6k1 notices that Platinum's name in the chat has changed back to CAC. She then hears her mom say, "Dinner's ready!" so she quickly adds:
Um... the rest of my family are still on the line, and Dad and Azzy are getting kinda worried about me, so before I go, I'd like to ask you a few more things. How long can you retain your form? I can't recall rn if there was a time when you suddenly transformed back to normal during a season. And more importantly... where/when/how did you get your powers? I only began seeing your alternate forms as early as the 2nd Reboot season, so was it some kind of mutation you got when you jumped between timelines?

He tries calling her, but instead, Ally answers it.
We are sorry for the inconvenience, but TRP-6001 is currently preoccupied with talking to her family and CosmosAndChaos/Platinum the Fox. However, I am still available if you need assistance. What is your request?
He tells her that she should ask the Science Center staff to summon a portal that would take his doppelganger back to his homeworld.
I shall see if they can, but it might take them a little while to pinpoint its coordinates, even if they are almost identical to your world's. Is that alright?
"Hmm, okay I guess, hope they don't take too long..."

"Thanks."
Berdly Prime ends the call and tells the "other" Berdly about the plan.
Underground Bunker
Pepper doesn't know what Ichi's talking about, but he giggles when he pets him.
"Still, ya gotta take a chill pill!" says Spice. "You need a better outlet for all that anger!"
But then Power notices what seems to be a certain Morgrem on his podium this coming season and snorts at "him".
"Morgan?!" she shouts. "What is he doing there?!"
"Excuse me, but who are you talking about?" asks Star.
"He's one of Scipion's lackeys who's an absolute piece of work!"
"Is that so?"
"Yeah, take a look!"
Star peeks at Ichi's phone, and Moon and Spice follow suit. Whoever they see in that tribute is certainly not the evil Morgrem, but the three ponies are just as enraged as Power is at them, even Spice.
The blue unicorn continues hugging Ichi, but does she really want to know who that mysterious tribute looks like to him?

"Yes. You have to believe us. If those people get to the fox, something bad will happen." Tokage said.
"We need to rescue him and get him somewhere where it's safe. With all of his counterparts." Aaron added.

"I don't see Morgan, just Umbridge."

Works for me. We should probably let Zuma know that we got out of here alive anyway. (Joaquin says.) ...And that maybe they should be on the lookout for people like Ridley.

(The 'Brijes teleport themselves and Fire Eyes away and to the entrance to the land of the alebrijes.)
(The gateway to the land of alebrije looks unchanged from when the 'Brijes were there last.)

Uh huh! And we can do crazy stuff, like this! (June poofs into a double of Rebecca for a moment, visibly startling the real Rebecca.)

Yeah, if you're serious about this, then I hope you know what you're gettin' into. (Baloo says.)
Eh, we've been through crazier stuff. (June shrugs.) So where do we find this Carnage guy?
I bet he's in the Iron Vulture like usual, planning his next scheme to get into Cape Suzette. (Kit says.)
That's his big airship, by the way. It's big enough to hold about fifty Sea Ducks. (Baloo motions to his plane outside.)

"Okay, I'll see if I'll go next time. As for my shapeshifting powers... I gained them from a magical artifact 7 EP years ago, but I only decided to use them as of the Reboot. As for how long can I stay in an alternate form? For however long I want. I also have light powers like light beams, and can conjure weapons or tools made of light energy.
Well, I'll leave you and your family be. Bye.😄"

Fire Eyes closed his eyes one last time for a moment as the 'Brijes got teleported outside of the Chozo temple, a small act of respect to the now-extinct tribe.
The Mawkin looked around himself, recognizing at least the world he was in. He put a hand on his now missing eye.
"The wound still burns... I suppose now I fully earn the name of Fire Eyes." he muttered.

Aaron also summoned an Aura bone, Tokage some vines, and Alex breathed harmless fire to show that they were from another world.
"We're aware of the risk. But it's best that we act as soon as possible." the Lucario explained.
"So he is in a big airship... So that means..." Tokage guessed.
"Oh yeah!! We can use planes to find him!!" Alex exclaimed.
"You're married like me, you know monstrosity can take many forms."

Haze started to nominate his tributes, only for one of them to strike a nerve in his new "friend"

Yeah, I kinda forgot you and Scampton weren't the best of friends. Fortunately, it's just a clone, and I can have his real self leave the museum if you really want to.
Suddenly, Haze heard something swooping above… and he suddenly got ink in his face
AAAHHHH! My glasses! My glasses! Haze quickly ran off into the nearby bathroom, quickly washed himself and his glasses off, before returning to see Venomicon soaring through the museum overhead
Oh, Venomicon! I didn't see you there!
The Pokémon flew down to Haze's level, simply staring at him with that swirly eye it had, which was twitching violently
Man, you're kind of freaky up close… Haze attempted to touch the book… only for it to screech before instantly soaring away, spitting ink at some pictures on the top floor of the museum. Hey! Get down from there, those are my paintings! Haze climbed the stairs to chase after it, causing it to fly away again
…WELL, THAT JUST HAPPENED, HAPPENED. I GUESS I GET BACK TO MY WORK, WORK! AFTER ALL, I SAID HE'D DO HIS THING, AND I'LL DO MINE, MINE! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

(Veena looks at the space where Fire Eyes' eye is supposed to be with a sad sigh. She still wishes a little that they had gotten to Fire Eyes sooner.)
(She and Joaquin do the special dance to open the gate once more. Much to Joaquin and Veena's relief, the land of the alebrijes doesn't look any worse than it did when they first got here.)
(It'll quickly become apparent to Fire Eyes that the gloomy atmosphere, stormy-looking skies, and the overall dour mood of the alebrijes in the world is not how things are supposed to be. A few of the alebrijes do look at Fire Eyes curiously.)
Wonder if any of these people recognize what species you are. (Knox whispers to Fire Eyes.)

You got it! (Baloo says.) You have experience flying, right?
(June's face falls slightly.) ...Sorta? Maybe?? We've flown in planes, but...it was more of a ride.

Team Fruit Salad's Pit
Strawbrey finished data cloning the tributes and went back to Letooce. They finally moved away from the workplace and to the sofa near the screen so they could be more comfortable.
"There we go! Anything you wanna talk about before this season starts?" Strawbrey asked her.
"I got an idea for next season."
"Ooo, what is it?"
"I'll tell you when it actually happens."
"Oh, alright. That's fair."
There was silence for a few seconds.
"Do you ever want to reach out to the other nominators?" Strawbrey asked, and to Letooce, the question seemed out of the blue.
"Um..." Letooce thought about how she should answer. 'I'm... not sure. I would like to, but..."
"You're friends with us. What's the problem with adding a few more?"
"It's not as easy for me to interact with people than for you. I can't just be all open with new people. Some of them probably wouldn't like that."
"I'm sure you and the nominators will get along just fine. Plus, even if a nominator doesn't click with you, who cares?"
"I would..."
Strawbrey frowned. "It isn't going to be as bad as you think it is. I promise. I contacted the Database Manager a little while ago, and she seemed really nice. She told me about a lot of the nominators too." she gave Letooce her phone and showed her all the messages.
"A grumpy polar bear and an evil Zoroark don't sound like the friendliest nominators around."
"I mean, you never know. Guess you'll just have to talk to them and find out. 6k1 said she'll send me their numbers if they're okay with it, and we can chat with them. How does that sound?"
Letooce thought about it again. "I guess that would be fine."
Strawbrey smiled again. "Sweet! I'll let you know if 6k1 sends me contacts then!"
"Alright." Letooce gave a weak smile back, but she still couldn't help feeling nervous about it.
Arena
Polly didn't remember how he got here, but then again, he didn't remember a lot of things. He looked at his surroundings to try and figure about what was going on. On the podium next to him was a ghostly girl with a similar name as him, and on one of the podiums, it seemed like there was nothing at all.
They weren't worried or anything; not much could be worse than the hospital they were at before. They just found the situation very, very strange.

After Joaquin and Veeena's dance, Fire Eyes followed the 'Brijes into the realm.
The gloomy, stormy sky was nothing new to Fire Eyes. That was what ZDR's surface always looked like, though it was more barren outside of the structures of Hanubia. Yet even he could tell this was not how the realm originally was. The depressed alebrijes only confirmed that.
"So this is what happened... I should have done something to prevent the Hypnos-stone from being stolen." the Mawkin sighed before turning to Knox.
"Perhaps... Asides from eventual contact they had with my people, I would not be surprised if one of them mistakes me for Blood Moon if they have seen his Chozo form."
But speaking of which. Blood Moon... Fire Eyes couldn't remember where his blood brother was. An unfortunate side-effect of his healing.

The Rescue Squad had the same reaction as June.
"Ah... Because actual flying is more complicated?" Alex asked.
"I'm not sure if we have time to learn how to fly a plane." Tokage said.

The Expanded Delta Warriors then wait for the portal to open. While they can trust the Science Center that they'll be able to take the "Other" Berdly home safely, they still hope that it's the right one...

Star, Moon, and Spice then calm down, and Spice cuddles Pepper again, apologizing for blowing up, too.
"But how come it's Morgan for you and not Umbridge?" Moon asks Power. "You know that she's as downright despicable as him!"
"I know, but I had to put up with his toxic behavior personally!"
"And here I thought you and Ichi would see Timewrecker," says Star.
Spice gently puts a hoof on his wife's belly. "I'm just glad that our little one here survived his reign of terror..."
"Yes, I remember..."
"But we've long moved on from Timey's wrath," says Power, "and he'll never harm us ever again!"
Belissima's Realm
The prankster hobbles out of the sandbox and shoots a glare at the other foals. As Justice leads them out, he tells them, "You shoulda known better than to use a copy of the dress that 'Nana' used to wear, just for a silly prank!"
"I'm sorry, great-grandpa, we didn't know..." says the green filly.
"But why does that mean a lot to you?" asks the yellow one.
Justice grumbles. "I think y'all are old enough to know what happened to her, but that's another story for another day. Right now, we're gonna take your cousin back to his mom."
"Okay..."
He exits the dome and finds the prankster's mother splayed out on the ground, fast asleep.
"Mommy! Mommy! Big Bro is back!" says her daughter as she rapidly pokes her awake.
"Ugh..." She struggles to wake up, and then sees Justice with the other foals. "Oh, you're back... so you were able to find him, right?"
"Yep," says the old stallion, "but he was bein' mean to everyone when Eye-Sicle found him..."
"Hmph, they just can't take a joke!" says the prankster.
"That still wasn't nice, cuz!" says the pegasus.
The Database Library, Basement
So you got your powers at around the start of your nominator career? I see... Also, you should use your light powers more often. I don't think I've seen you use them in the Arena unless I'm mistaken. But anyway, I'll see you around, and thanks for helping me cope with my asexuality. :)
However, 6k1 is still left with more questions about CAC's powers. Why did he only start shapeshifting one season after the Great Destruction? Was it his way of coping with it? And how did he already master it on that very season itself? Did the artifact instantly give him the knowledge on how to use it without training? And if there's no time limit on his transformation, is there a limit on how many forms he can take on instead?
Ally then turns off the Arena feed. I will watch the season in the other room so that Asriel Dreemurr will not be disturbed. Is that alright?
"Sure thing," says 6k1.
OK.
After Ally takes her leave, the DM turns back to face her family. She sees Toriel, in her teacher's outfit, bring out her signature pie while Frisk, also wearing their backpack, sets the other food on the table.
"Mmm... that smells delicious, Tori!" says Asgore.
"Why thank you, Gorey!" she replies.
She and Frisk settle down, and 6k1 tells her family that she's just done talking to CAC.
"Really?" asks Toriel. "What have you been talking about?"
"Um... Hunger Games stuff, and also I learned more about his powers."
"Ah, I see! But if you don't mind me asking, how have the two of you been since yesterday?"
6k1 pauses, for she knows her mom is probing her about the Nom Games incident. Her hands shake as she looks at her rings, and then back at her family, and then at her rings. Remembering what Cadance and CAC advised her, she sighs deeply.
"Mom? Dad? Did you see my AU self in that EVERYTHING variant two seasons ago?"
"No, we didn't," says Toriel. "I was busy teaching my first kindergarten class, remember?"
"While I was busy with royal duties, as usual," adds Asgore.
Frisk and Asriel also shake their heads at 6k1.
"Well, it's because I have something important to tell you..."
"What is it?" they all ask.
She tears up again as she shows them her rings. "I'm a-spec."
The Arena
As soon as the horn sounds, D. A. looks up bomb making in her Hunger Games guidebook and sets it off, but Crazy Frog, Mezato, and the Merchant survive it and kill her in retaliation. Meanwhile, Photoshop Flowey laughs maniacally with the other tributes when Aunt Arctic kills Team C, while Carlos just awkwardly laughs along because another person sharing his name was killed by her. Flowey then throws more bombs at Derek, Hoover, John, and what appears to be his least favorite character in Super Smashing Fighters, but Flowey screams in rage when only John perishes from the blast.
As the sun rises on a Sunday morning in the Arena, the System of Lemurs gives Flowey a death threat if he fails them, but he just laughs at them.
"DO YOU THINK YOU CAN ACTUALLY KILL ME IN THIS FORM?! THANKS TO THE SOULS INSIDE ME AND MY DETERMINATION, I CAN JUST BRING MYSELF BACK TO LIFE! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!"
Meanwhile, Carlos runs away crying from D. A.'s body, when suddenly, Spring Lucina RKOs him outta nowhere by body slamming him. He struggles to escape her grasp, but he successfully gets out, his whole body aching.

The horn sounded, but Polly didn't know what to do. Should she run? She could see Polly Geist getting out of there. She could also see lots of bodies start to pile up. Guess she should run.
Polly turned around and started to run, away from everyone else. Maybe it'll figure out what to do once it got away from everyone. It suddenly stopped though and gasped.
Someone shot an arrow into their abdomen.
"Wha- what the..."
Polly fell to the ground, dead, just like that.
Meanwhile, on Day 1, Polly Geist used a sauna so she could use her ghost abilities easier. As for [REDACTED] (at least in Letooce's point of view), even after surviving a explosion in the Bloodbath, Mirage still tried to attack him. He told Mirage to cut it out, as if he doesn't survive here, he won't be able to come back to his love.
Team Fruit Salad's Pit
"Polly..." was all Letooce could say as she saw Polly die in the Bloodbath. This was almost as bad as when Nurse Mood immediately died 4 seasons back...
"F." Strawbrey said.
What didn't help matter was that "he" was still alive, even with everyone after him.

The Museum's Upper Floor: Get that Venomicon!
Haze was still chasing after the flying book, as it continued to fly out of his reach, knocking over a small statue of Anti-Shroomy (Celebrating his win in Season 117) and squirting ink at more of the tribute's paintings
Hey, that stuff's probably expensive! Pf course, since it was created when he was asleep, he had no idea exactly how much it costed. Since they at least looked expensive, that's what he was going with
VENO! VENO! It flew around wildly, before it suddenly shifted and dive bombed into Haze, who dodged it at the last second
Gah! Haze took a quick breath. Since he was asleep for so long, he still wasn't used to massive movements like this. Okay, okay… (Pant, pant) You… you're fast… The Venomicon's swirling eye rapidly darted around the room, before looking at Haze and fleeing again
Wait a sec… the Vile Vial! He quickly sprung to life, realizing how he should go about taking the vial, which would turn it back into its much slower Prologue form
Meanwhile, on a Lower Floor…
Junkil was watching the chaotic hunger games on one of Haze's TVs, laughing at Scampton dying almost immediately HAHAHAHAHAHA! SHOWS HIM RIGHT, RIGHT!

(Admist the massive number of explosions going on around the Cornucopia, Moe inadvertently leaves Joe behind, KOing Polly on the way out, and leaving Joe nobody to team up with.) MOE! WHERE ARE YOU?!
(Joe ends up falling into the ocean and nearly "drowns" (as much as one can actually drown in the lair's VR chambers), but ends up being saved by mermaids who give him a magic starfish that enables him to breathe underwater.) Sssssplendid!
(Meanwhile, Moe is...trying to hold Jazz Jackrabbit back on a leash for some reason.)

Realm of the Alebrijes
The only people who saw Blood Moon as his normal self are...are dead now. They likely just see you as another visitor. Though if they have met Chozo in the past before as the frescos on Tallon IV suggested, then perhaps they may recognize your species at least. (Sticky tells Fire Eyes.)
(Zuma is outside and facing the monument in front of the castle again. He seems to be so deep in thought that when Joaquin puts a hand on Zuma's shoulder, Zuma yelps and briefly flies into several pieces in surprise for a second before turning and realizing it's Joaquin and the others.)
Joaquin! Veena! You're back! Was your quest a- (Zuma trails off when he sees Fire Eyes.) Oh, it WAS a success. It is a pleasure to meet you, sir. I am Zuma, and I am serving as Elder Alebrije in the interim before Joaquin and Veena take their place here.

Fire Eyes got surprised when Zuma split up for a moment, but kept his composure, knowing the world he was in.
"So you are the leader of this realm..." the Mawkin muttered. He lowered his eyes in shame.
Fire Eyes bent the knee in front of Zuma.

By the way, this is Ally the Databot, Caretaker of the Database and Protector of the Database Library. I am 6001's robot assistant, who was built by one of her old nominator friends in Season 54.
She then nearly glitches out at Flowey almost killing the "Database hackers" and runs through her Databanks to make sure none of "them" were from the Underground.
Meanwhile, 6k1's family examine her rings and nod in curiosity.
