Welcome to HGS: Another Side Another Story. It is a roleplay spinoff for the Hunger Games Simulator forum game, akin to both the RP's in the Roleplaying section as well as the ITTs in Forum Games. It tells the story of the Hunger Games in the Arena of Panem, the nominators who sent the tributes, the tributes themselves both in and out of the Arena or even other people relevant to the Games. In addition, it also tells their stories beyond the Arena.
You can jump right in with any character, like your nominator self, your tributes, etc. The structure of this RP will be open-world. Don't worry about not being skilled/experienced enough or being new to RP'ing. Finally, ASAS accepts any skill level or RP style. Other than these, there are some important rules to note, which are:
- No godmodding will be allowed or tolerated here. The offending player will be given punishment depending on the severity.
- Please communicate anything important you plan on another player with the said player first. Don't just execute it without their consent.
- Don't be rude to other players, both out and in-universe. This extends to RP offenses like railroading, guilt-tripping, coercing, or other forms of forcing them.
- This RP is related to the Hunger Games Simulation:Beyond the Possibilities forum game. Thus it will have events based from that game, including the tributes. This means if you want to RP as tributes, please nominate them officially on the thread first, with misses not being counted. This has to be done after an incident with a player who hasn't joined the game itself yet.
- Since this RP is Loose Canon in relation to the main HGS thread, the host's interpretation of events isn't necessarily 100% canon. Every player has the right to deviate from what the host says and go with their own interpretations. If multiple players have their tributes involved in the same event(s), please communicate with each other so that you're on the same page regarding how you see them.
- This RP chronicles the lives of the nominators and their tributes behind the scenes. While dark plots are acceptable, the overall tone of the RP should be light-hearted and comedic. This RP is not a Cosmic Horror Story or action story about defeating evil. It is a Slice of Life comedy with some adventure to it, first and foremost. Our previous RP, Convergence, is not representative of the intended tone, and the grimdark tone of that RP is one of the main reasons it was retooled.
- Nominators and tributes alike can transform into Pokemon whenever they enter a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon World (but they can bypass this with certain items/methods or shapeshifting) or via other means outside it such as a season event, Transformation Trinkets, or shapeshifting. The players are free to choose the Pokéforms that best suit their characters and even give them color schemes outside the standard and Shiny colors, but there is a hard rule for this. If you want your character's Pokéform to be a Legendary, Mythical, or Ultra Beast, please ask the RP mods for approval. Outside the Arena, these Pokéforms are still OP, but we want to give leeway for tributes who theoretically can have them such as deities.

Detective Gamechanger's Base
A sharp-dressed man in a green suit and yellow tie is standing by the entrance of the base. He is of average height and has whitish skin, though still a bit darker. He is Billy, one of the nominators and the organizer of the party.
Indeed, after the nominators' returned and settled their problems, they decide to have fun with a party. Billy also sent invites for all the other nominators out there, as well as basically anyone else, including tributes, non associated parties, interested nominators who haven't participate yet, or even those who just wants to hang out.
The place itself in the base is refurbished for party purposes. Fancy chairs and tables are set everywhere for people to relax, as well as put food and other objects for the latter. There's also various collections showcased, including those belonging to the Detective, like his classic cars. Various themes to the base are set too, including detective noir as GC would have preferred.
Billy is now awaiting for other guests to arrive. He is also ready to give them a pleasant surprise during the party pertaining to his nation.

Power raises her hoof. "I will!"
"Alright, I'll just be at the dessert bar if you need me."
As soon as 6k1 leaves, Power steps up to the machine and pulls the lever. This time she rolls a random Night event.
Alma Coin approaches the pony and orders her to execute President Snow with a bow. Power grins maniacally as she draws up one and aims it at him... but refuses at the last second and gallops away as the two presidents chase her until the simulation ends.
"why did ya drop the order like that?" asks Sans. "i thought ya liked seein' him geeettttttt dunked on!"
"Well..." says Power, "I kinda sorta realized that he was a bigger threat in the Arena than I thought, given everything that he did during his presidency... I'm just glad he and Coin were reduced to proverbial punching bags in the real one."
Not far away from the buffet table is the dessert bar, where various sweet treats from across the Multiverse are served, along with all sorts of beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. 6k1 pulls up a chair and orders a cookies n' cream milkshake, and out of curiosity, she decides to take a peek at the alternate timeline.
Not only is Mikey crying himself out, he's also turning his head away from BTS.
"Dad... Brother... I wanna go home already..."
6k1 can't help but watch the poor boy suffer. This is why she always wipes her tributes' memories after every season. Mikey's lucky that it worked for him, but same can't be said for everyone else...
The DM remembers how chipper Carlos was despite having witnessed this 21 seasons ago. It seems that while it still hurt to watch his family suffer and die, he pretty much accepted that this all happened, and he knows that Dad and Mikey would come back just fine.

Kirby
The Spacepod
Kirby has dozed off, snoring quietly. Ribbon looks at the digital clock in his room. It is currently 9:50 PM. Ribbon then prepares to sleep as well.
GC's Base
Magolor runs outside and towards Lor Starcutter. He calls inside, and the young girl he found in the Voidlands comes out. Magolor introduces her to 6k1, telling her where he found her.

Zanreo is instantly amused at the idea of the RNG Machine, and looks as 6k1 and Twilight, and then Power, try it. This sure seemed interesting... and kinda fun! "Ooh, let me try!" she says. And after that, it would be time to get some snacks...

Alibi
After dancing, Tabby goes to her tablet to send Spiderham a message of the Death Battle coming up.
"Death Battle? I'm already at the Arena! I went there myself because you didn't respond in time! did something happen?"
"I had a little incident at the party, that's why I wasn't available. See you soon!"
Tabby turns it off and starts to get some desserts.
"These foods better not be tainted or anything."
She grabs a couple of brownies and then she felt a cold touch down her back.
"I have finally have found you, vessel..."
"Who are you and what do you want from me?'
"You..."
Tabby steps back in fear.
Meltdown
Meanwhile,Pecan witnesses Scipion's meltdown about 6k1's remark.
"You do realize that it was an accident! I hate large group tributes as much as you do!"
She is glared at weirdly but then it's time for Billy's reveal of the RNG Machine.
"Woah,I don't like luck-based events but I'll give it a go."
As other nominators give it a go, A disgruntled Tabby walks up to Pecan. She doesn't look like her usual self.
"Tabby, what happened to you? Did you have a sugar crash?"
"NoNe Of YoUr BuSiNeSs! "
"Uh,okay... You want a turn on the RNG Machine?"
"HuH,aLrIgHt..."

With Carlos and his dad going home, Frisk's dialogue will be italic blue from this point forward.
"So this girl hatched from that stasis chamber?" 6k1 asks Magolor. "Intriguing..."
She sees Tabby eat some seemingly innocuous brownies and step away from the bar, shaking.
"Oh no..."
Power and the others each take turns playing with the machine, laughing at the wacky things happening to them and sometimes cringing at the... less than savory ones. Once it's Frisk's turn again, they suggest that they simulate a random fatal event.
"Seriously?!" cries out Toriel.
"Don't worry, it's just a simulator. No one will really die in it..."
They step in front and pull the lever. The others brace themselves for who'll be the unlucky victim and their killer, respectively.
Ralsei and Sans reluctantly step into the virtual battlefield. The goat wizard shudders in his robes as the skeleton's left eye glows while he summons his wave of bones at him. Ralsei tries dodging them the best he can... but there are just too many.
"Guess I'll die..." he says while shrugging. A long bone strikes him in the head, and his body dissipates, leaving his clothes behind.
Sans's eyesockets turn empty as the base comes back into view. The others are just as shell-shocked as him, staring at the clothes pile in the middle. A few minutes later, Ralsei rises up in his clothes as if nothing happened to him.
"sorry i had to dunk ya like that..."
"It's okay, Sans. Besides, my body does recover that fast."
Power's tummy rumbles. "Whew... all that simulating made me hungry! Let's go get some dessert, shall we?"
"YEAH!"
They were about to head for the bar when they notice a deranged Tabby approaching the machine.
"Looks like she wasn't extracted of all the Nightmare Fuel..." says Power as she steps back.
Ralsei wraps himself in his scarf while Sans prepares to dodge Tabby's first move. Toriel calls 6k1 as she grasps Frisk's right hand while the latter promptly SAVES.
"My child, Frisk and I need to go home already. Your nominator friend doesn't feel fine... at all."

Gale decided to take a break from the dance and went to get some tamarindo candy, he did hear from Bale that they were a perfect mix between sweet and spicy.
Gale: Alright, I am going to get some food, anyone else wanna come?
He was followed by Charlie, Meta Knight, Diny and Mr. Godzilla.
"Bingo! If two species hate each other, they will wipe each other out on their own."

The Arena, Main Timeline
Mikey waits for the horn to sound. It's been only several hours since 6k1 sent him here, but for him, it certainly felt like days. He looks at BTS, who are also waiting for it, too, with varying degrees of patience.
"BTS?" he asks them. "I know we only just met, but... if we ever kill each other, promise that we never speak of that again?"

"RNG machine, huh? As if I needed RNG to keep haunting my ass. Still salty over losing some good looking glam due to someone having a number that's ONE number higher than mine in FFXIV."
Galis' House
As Galis was about to sleep, she hears loud footsteps.
"What the fuck is it this time?"
She goes outside to find the Spigell-controlled Hector outside.
"Hello, the Highlander Hyur known as Galis Janbelle Runkals. Do you know where the human known as Eredars is?"
"Nah, not really."
"I understand. Sorry for bothering you, Janbelle."
It then leaves.
"Now, to get some shut eye... Wait, how did it know my name?"
"At first, I was like "hmmm, yeah, buff choccy bunny." But bro: I don't think it's a joke anymore..."

The Arena - Main Timeline
Indeed, several hours have passed since Ms. May had sent them into the arena, and the more the boys wait, the more their confidence is starting to fade. They all huddle close to each other, silently reassuring each other.
When Mikey speaks to them, they all give him a gentle look. "Of course," says RM. "But we hope you're safe out there. We know how dangerous it is. Try not to get into too much trouble, okay?"
"Yeah, don't go bullying any dragons," Jin advises whimsically. Suga sends him a death glare, and the boys chuckle, feeling a little better now.
The Arena - Alternate Timeline
The members of BTS are tapping their feet against the podium and generally feeling quite restless. They just want it to be over already. The tension and anticipation is overwhelming.
Jimin looks around the cornucopia and sees several tributes who have wronged him and his friends in the past. Mikey. Maleficent. Voldemort. Navi. He glares at them all. "I'm going to kill every single one of you," he says.
His bandmates turn around and give him various worried or angry glances. V just gives him a blank, unmoving stare. Jimin almost feels like he's going to break down crying at the sight, but he maintains his angry composure and turns away from them again.
Light and Hope
Det. GC's Base
Ninten just sighs again as he opens his eyes, meeting Giegue's. "I USED to hate you, I suppose. But nowadays.... I find myself questioning even that. These days, I wonder if there was something I could have done to reach out. You.... you were a lost one, torn between two loyalties. And then, revenge.... it's always a consuming thought....
"I've been thinking: how about we mend our bridges? It seems there is more to each of us than the other knows before today.... so perhaps we could be something like friends? It may not be easy to do, but I'm willing to try and put everything that happened aside, if you want to do the same.... for her memory, at the very least. I've seen it in Magicant; she loved you dearly until her death." There was no need to mention who "she" was, for they both already know. The leader of the original Chosen Four offers a handshake. "Will you accept it?"
Hope: "Let's go. We'll be together." Lightning: "I only know... that soon, we'll be together."
GC's Base
Figuring that Scipion would be smart enough to notice that Tabby was still infected with NF, Ichigo walks over to Power and whispers to her.
"Think you could draw up a tranquilizer dart for me, Pow-Pow, in case Tabby starts going on a rampage?"

Power nods to Ichi and sneaks under a nearby table to do so, hiding under her Cloak. Once she's done, she signals 6k1's tributes via earpiece to step out of the way, and gives the dart to Ichi.

Alternate timeline
Alt!Maleficent in her dragon form smiled evily. She saw through Jimin's sadness. As the evil fairy she was, she intended to do everything to break the BTS down and, even better, make them serve her.
The party
Scipion sighed as 6k1 argued against killing Zorua. "Fine. I'm not against nominating large group of tributes, but there's no way I'm letting another Great Cataclysm happening. However, if Zorua provocate another mass destruction, I'll make sure she will regret it personally."
Then Billy reveals the RNG machine, wich caught Scipion's interest. "Hmmm... How about we do some fatal events? Do you want to try Giratina?" he asked to Giratina who nodded. Scipion pulled the lever and found himself fighting his master. Giratina ended the fight quickly, teleporting behind Scipion before crushing his body with one of his legs, save for his head. Giratina removed the skin from Scipion's skull and carefully created a morbid Calavera with the Zoroark's skull before showing it to the crowd with a certain pride. The skull laughed as the dragon was finished. "I didn't knew you were that artistic, father!" he said before Scipion reformed himself as they exited the machine.
Scipion growled when he saw Tabby. "It seems that some of the fuel was already absorbed by the time I tried to remove it." He then smiled evily. "Then again, I'm not against causing a bloodshed. If she try anything funny, you just have to ask me and I'll jump at her throat."
The music then changed to a Metal song, and a drunked Firebrand finally started to dance on the dancefloor, spinning rapidly on his head and randomly screaming. This sight intimidated Pharynx as he was still learning from his brother. Althought he wasn't very good, he had to admit that dancing wasn't that bad. "How about we try that RNG machine instead?" "Sure, why not?" replied Thorax.
Meanwhile, Giegue widened his eyes briefly in shock as he heard that she met Ninten. That would explain how he knew about that lullaby. He smiled sadly and said "Yes... Thank you..."
He extended his hand to shake Ninten's one. He didn't realised it, but instead, he ended up hugging him and began to silently cry as he dropped some tears.
"You're married like me, you know monstrosity can take many forms."
"Thanks, Pow-Pow."
He hides his new tranquilizer dart up his sleeve, ready to deploy it if Tabby tried anything funny.

Deciding to let Ichi or Scipion take care of Tabby, whoever goes first (though she'd prefer it if it was the former), 6k1 calls her tributes over to the dessert bar. Even Asgore joins them, too.
Power comes out of her Cloak and orders a cookies n' cream milkshake, just like 6k1. Twilight orders a Sugarcube Corner-brand cake to share with everyone. Asgore buys a Bisicle and splits it between him and Toriel. The latter's a bit surprised by this gesture, but she gladly takes a piece.
Frisk and Ralsei look at the menu and exchange glances.
"Frisk, may I try something from your world?"
"Sure, and I'll try something from yours, too."
Ralsei orders a Starfait while Frisk orders a Lancer Cookie.
"Are you sure this isn't his actual head?"
"Um... I'm sure that's just a sugar cookie." Ralsei takes a sip. "Mmm... this Starfait's nothing like the food back in my world! Whoever decided to use actual stars could easily beat Topchef in a Multiversal cooking show!"
Ralsei giggles while Frisk simply says "heh". Sans buys some Nice Cream and reads what's inside the wrapper.
"have a wonderful day!"

An eagle
Detective Gamechanger's Base
As Billy looks on the guests having fun in the party, he looks around to show many other facilities in the base. Among them are the otter tank, movie theater, another TV for gaming with all recent consoles with all the games in them, a pool with covered water slide, lazy river and a hot tub, a stage, etc. Next, he sees the vacation home connected to the base.
Then, he sees Patrick eagerly running into the pool alongside Spongebob before they dive into it, while Squidward goes into the stage to perform his usual clarinet performance, saying "hey everyone. Let's enjoy my clarinet performance.". As this is happening, Billy sees some of the groups from Touhou universe and Giorno's gang trying the RNG machine, while Marinette's group plays the consoles. Billy then hears someone drunkenly screaming about how she is going to manipulate dimensions to save V, before being distracted by Squidward. He also hears another girl swearing and saying she is going to blast Squidward with her laser for the bad performance.
He looks back to see it's from Reimu and Marisa respectively, who are both hammered drunk with several empty alcohol bottles in the table. There's even empty ice cream cups among the bottles, the ice cream in the cups before they got eaten resembling those from Goofy Goober. Immediately, Marisa produces a mini Hakkero and aims it at Squidward while threatening him in a drunken rage, causing Squidward to scream like he did when Spongebob and Patrick stumbled upon his bathroom. Billy however knocks it easily with his Stand, by firing a light beam at it as Sanae tries to calm Marisa.
Billy then hears what Ichi says. Immediately, he has his some units of his Stand fire tranquilizing beams at Reimu, Marisa and Tabby to tranquilize them. For Tabby, the beam also has a purifying property that will purge the nightmare fuel inside.
The Arena
As the gamemakers revived President Snow again and restored President Coin, they are now running the season that all the tributes are on their podiums. They however are currently struggling for hours with the up to date regular save, with a second female gamemaker being called to help after the first male one failed. However, she too is struggling. Despite of this however, she eventually finds a good scenario.
Eventually, the Game is started and recorded from start to finish. Once it's over, the recordings are collected together, ready to be edited and broadcasted for the host to comment on.
Gensokyo
It's now night in the land, which is becoming more modernized thanks to contact with the Outside World, though it still retains all it's magical charms. While a lot of it's notable populations are gone for the party, there are still some who stay right now. In addition, some of them even have new clothing from the Outside World, as well as travel to places outside of Gensokyo.
Naples, Italy, Jojo Universe
Meanwhile in that universe's version of Naples, the Passione is doing well despite Giorno leaving for now alongside his group. In their places, some loyal mafia members, including Cannolo Murolo, are temporarily controlling it. Cannolo is now out in the streets of Naples in the morning, eating a Neapolitan pizza.
Paris, France, Miraculous Ladybug Universe
Meanwhile the world there goes on for normal without Marinette and some of her classmates, including Marinette's class. It's a peaceful day with no akuma attack. In addition, Lila Rossi is also gone for now.
Bikini Bottom
In Bikini Bottom, before leaving, Sandy had to clone the group, especially Spongebob as the city needs him for the krabby patties. It works as there's no riot so far and the city is running smoothly as Spongebob, Squidward, and Mr. Krabs' clones run the Krusty Krab well. Plankton is also gone for now, so there's no attempt against the Krusty Krab and it's Secret Formula.

Kirby
GC's Base
Ness yawns as he tells his friends that it's getting late and that they should go home. He then asks 6k1 if they could go home.
Meanwhile, King Dedede greets Meta Knight loudly.
"Hey, old chum! How are you doing today!?"
He then grabs a chocolate smoothie and drinks it, and offers Meta Knight and his friend Lucina some.
The Spacepod
Ribbon sleeps in a different room from Kirby's. The Spacepod tones down her light until it becomes black with soft orange lines.

Noticing that Billy seemed to have the Tabby situation under control, he shrugs and pockets his dart, then makes for the dessert bar before helping himself to an orange creamsicle.

6k1 sees the Chosen Four approach her, saying that it's time for them to go home. She checks her watch, and true enough, it's almost midnight.
"Sure you can, but don't be surprised if you see Ninten hugging Giegue on your way out. It seems that they forgave each other over their past."
She waves goodbye to them and goes back to eating. By the time she and her tributes have had their fill, Frisk makes a little yawn.
"Aww..." says Asgore, "even for someone who's filled with determination, they sure get tired."
Toriel goes down from her seat and carries her child over her shoulder.
"6k1, thanks for inviting us. We had a lot of fun despite the... chaos that happened."
"No problem, Mom. I hope that Alphys would do something about the dark soul once you two go home."
Frisk is now fast asleep, and Ralsei can't stop smiling at how adorable they look.
"I hope they have good dreams about the party, too."
"And before you go," says Asgore, "there's something I should ask you."
"What is it?" asks Toriel.
He clears his throat. "Will you... forgive me for what I did during the war? It's been years since it happened, but I understand if you're not ready yet."
She thinks hard about this. Power sheds a single tear while 6k1 looks at the royal goats with hope in her eyes.
"Not yet," says Toriel, "but at least we're on good terms now, Gorey."
The king smiles. "Thank you, and until we meet again... Tori."
The former queen sighs, but smiles back as she says goodbye to the others. 6k1 leads her and Frisk outside and calls Perri to summon the portal home.
As the others check out the other facilities, 6k1 just watches the big screen TV, waiting for the Death Battle to finally begin.

Bale decided to go back home, he had enough partying for a while, he teleported each of his companions to their worlds, before warping himself and his assistants back to the base, he waved goodbye to each of the other attendants.

Seeing that Gale's going home already, Power draws up a crystal ball and gives it to him, instructing him on what to do with it.
"I'm glad you had fun! Hope we see each other again!"
She then sees him off.
Meanwhile, Sans and Ralsei come across the gaming TV.
"is that... super smash bros.?"
"You mean Super Smashing Fighters? Kris loves that game!"
"cuz they can play as that 'me' cosplayer?"
"Nah, it's their childhood favorite along with Asriel's!"
"your azzy liked it, too?"
"Yep, he liked playing as the green dino!"
Sans surveys Ralsei's clothes and touches his scarf.
"i think ya kinda look like yoshi!"
"Oh, really?" the wizard laughs. "I didn't realize that until now!"
Sans gets a Joy-Con and gives one to him.
"wanna play? it's to make up for dunkin' ya in the rng machine."
"Oh... No thanks, I don't think I'm as good as Asriel..."
"c'mon, it's just a game!"
"Ooh..." Asgore shows up. "May I join, too?"
"yeah sure." Sans throws another Joy-Con to him.
"I've never played a video game before, but let's see how well I do!"

After finishing his frozen treat, Ichigo sends a message to his base as he waits for the Games to begin.

GC's Base
On the big screen TV, the season's interrupted by an announcement... from none other than Mr. Sutton himself!
"Good morning/afternoon/evening, everybody! I heard that Billy's hosting a party at GC's base, so I hope everyone's having a great time there! And for those who have already left, I hope you had fun, too! Also, I heard that several blue people who like puns banded together and made their own club, so if you're one of them, this season's dedicated to you!"
Sans and Power immediately turn their heads at the last statement. They both laugh at the host's puns as he commentates on the season. 6k1 just smirks at his occasional sass and the staggering amount of research he did about the tributes as she roots for Mikey and Kernel.
The Arena, Both Timelines
While Kernel sets off to gather resources, Mikey finds a fighter jet and flies away. In the Alpha Timeline, Mikey waves goodbye to BTS as he pilots the jet, but in the Beta Timeline, he just takes off without looking back at them.
A few hours later, Mikey lands his jet near the shoreline and wheels himself down the ramp. There's a surfing contest there, and he presses a button on his wheelchair to activate a surfboard underneath. Alpha!Mikey performs some wheelchair-friendly stunts as he competes against Wiggins and the Fairy Queen, and waves at BTS, one of the judges while at it. Beta!Mikey, on the other hand, avoids eye contact with them as he does the same.
The judges tally the scores... and Mikey wins the competition! For his beta counterpart, however, it was nothing but a miracle that he won the judges' favors, especially BTS's.
