Welcome to HGS: Another Side Another Story. It is a roleplay spinoff for the Hunger Games Simulator forum game, akin to both the RP's in the Roleplaying section as well as the ITTs in Forum Games. It tells the story of the Hunger Games in the Arena of Panem, the nominators who sent the tributes, the tributes themselves both in and out of the Arena or even other people relevant to the Games. In addition, it also tells their stories beyond the Arena.
You can jump right in with any character, like your nominator self, your tributes, etc. The structure of this RP will be open-world. Don't worry about not being skilled/experienced enough or being new to RP'ing. Finally, ASAS accepts any skill level or RP style. Other than these, there are some important rules to note, which are:
- No godmodding will be allowed or tolerated here. The offending player will be given punishment depending on the severity.
- Please communicate anything important you plan on another player with the said player first. Don't just execute it without their consent.
- Don't be rude to other players, both out and in-universe. This extends to RP offenses like railroading, guilt-tripping, coercing, or other forms of forcing them.
- This RP is related to the Hunger Games Simulation:Beyond the Possibilities forum game. Thus it will have events based from that game, including the tributes. This means if you want to RP as tributes, please nominate them officially on the thread first, with misses not being counted. This has to be done after an incident with a player who hasn't joined the game itself yet.
- Since this RP is Loose Canon in relation to the main HGS thread, the host's interpretation of events isn't necessarily 100% canon. Every player has the right to deviate from what the host says and go with their own interpretations. If multiple players have their tributes involved in the same event(s), please communicate with each other so that you're on the same page regarding how you see them.
- This RP chronicles the lives of the nominators and their tributes behind the scenes. While dark plots are acceptable, the overall tone of the RP should be light-hearted and comedic. This RP is not a Cosmic Horror Story or action story about defeating evil. It is a Slice of Life comedy with some adventure to it, first and foremost. Our previous RP, Convergence, is not representative of the intended tone, and the grimdark tone of that RP is one of the main reasons it was retooled.
- Nominators and tributes alike can transform into Pokemon whenever they enter a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon World (but they can bypass this with certain items/methods or shapeshifting) or via other means outside it such as a season event, Transformation Trinkets, or shapeshifting. The players are free to choose the Pokéforms that best suit their characters and even give them color schemes outside the standard and Shiny colors, but there is a hard rule for this. If you want your character's Pokéform to be a Legendary, Mythical, or Ultra Beast, please ask the RP mods for approval. Outside the Arena, these Pokéforms are still OP, but we want to give leeway for tributes who theoretically can have them such as deities.

Detective Gamechanger's Base
A sharp-dressed man in a green suit and yellow tie is standing by the entrance of the base. He is of average height and has whitish skin, though still a bit darker. He is Billy, one of the nominators and the organizer of the party.
Indeed, after the nominators' returned and settled their problems, they decide to have fun with a party. Billy also sent invites for all the other nominators out there, as well as basically anyone else, including tributes, non associated parties, interested nominators who haven't participate yet, or even those who just wants to hang out.
The place itself in the base is refurbished for party purposes. Fancy chairs and tables are set everywhere for people to relax, as well as put food and other objects for the latter. There's also various collections showcased, including those belonging to the Detective, like his classic cars. Various themes to the base are set too, including detective noir as GC would have preferred.
Billy is now awaiting for other guests to arrive. He is also ready to give them a pleasant surprise during the party pertaining to his nation.

"So, the season is ending, huh?"
Meanwhile, Kirby looks at Scipion's group in apparent fear, while Ness and Paula goes towards Ninten and high-five him. Magolor, meanwhile, went out of the restroom. He asks the DM "What'd i miss?"

"Yep, Death Battle's next," she says to Mr. Star. "Wish Mikey and Kernel luck. BTS and Navi, too."
She turns to Magolor and says, "a lot, really. Power and co. have just arrived while Tabby over there unknowingly drank Nightmare Fuel. Thankfully Scipion extracted it from her before it could get any worse."
"So... you're not that Susie?" asks Ralsei. "Sorry for that honest mistake..."
He sees Asgore approaching him.
"Ah... so you must be the 'Ralsei' Frisk was talking about?"
The goat wizard bows to the king. "Yes, your majesty."
"How was the trip?"
"That was a scary and rude prank Scipion pulled, but other than that, I had fun!"
"Good to hear."
"I saw you with Toriel while I was chatting with that Susie earlier. Are you friends now?"
"Uh... We're getting there."
"Aww... I hope you're back as a family again."
"Rarity, are you okay? We gotta get you and your friends outta here soon!"

Eredars facepalms at learning that while the Zele did in fact kill those tributes before turning them into a Frankenstein monster, it was two kills away from participating in the DB

"At first, I was like "hmmm, yeah, buff choccy bunny." But bro: I don't think it's a joke anymore..."

"Well, that sounds pretty interesting," Psyche replies to Eredars.
Jin gasps, amazed at the Pun Pony. "How dare she!" he says in jest. "Everyone knows that true pungeon masters are blue!"
On the subject of family members' thoughts on their puns, he says, "My bandmates think my puns and dad jokes are corny. But I'll show them! I'll have you know that I made them all laugh plenty of times!"
The season ends, and it's time for him to go. He chuckles as Sans and Carlos wish him well, appreciating Sans' little joke. "Thank you! I'm glad that we could meet. BTS will do our best this season, for you and for ARMY!"
"Before Ms. May summons you boys back to the school," Psyche tells Jin, "I need to quickly sort out you guys' powers. It shouldn't take long."
Jin nods as he follows Psyche back to the rest of BTS.
GC's Base
"...I forking called it. Anyway, let's see what's going down in the Games."
He checks out the feed on his phone... and promptly facepalms when Starkiller winds up being offed by evil sentient pizza of all things, and lands in fourth place.
"I can't even with these Games sometimes..."
With a sigh, he submits his five mass murderers for this season: Skarlet, Sarge, Shriek, Voldemort and Kylo Ren

6k1 then sees that the season has ended with Arimo's first tribute making the podium and Maid!Orin winning and becoming the final Death Battle contender.
"Congrats Billy, Ari, and uh... Cel, if you're still out there! Good luck to your tributes in the Battle Royale, and especially to Orin for the DB!"
She calls her scientists to do the usual tribute aftercare, then emails Claire to write to Jumba so he can send Kernel to the Arena. She also calls Ralsei over.
"What do you need me for, 6k1?"
"Just to check that Mikey's ready to go. Psyche's taking care of BTS."
He nods, and they both go to the Ramons. They also see Carlos parting ways with the Clan to see him off.
"Bro... I guess it's time for me to go."
Carlos hugs Mikey one last time. "Again, I wish you the best of luck!"
"Same with me," says their dad.
"And me, too!" adds D. A.
Ralsei checks Mikey for any injuries and says good luck as well. Power also catches wind of this and says her well-wishes also.
6k1 does the same and calls Perri to summon the portal, and they all wave as Mikey passes through it.

Bale saw that the time of the DB was nigh and with a wave of his hand summoned Eris back from the dead.
Eris: Wh-What? Where am I?
Bale: Oh hi Princess Eris, I welcome thee back to the Hunger Games, I have brought you back from the dead, and permanently under one condition: Become a podium finisher in the next Hunger Games Season, the Death Battle. I'll send you a booklet when you arrive to Panem.
Eris: Right...
Bale then teleported her away to Panem.
"Bingo! If two species hate each other, they will wipe each other out on their own."
Léodagan, the Bloodthirsty
Scipion waited for Ralsei to heal Tabby before violently picking her on the ground, angry.
"You really are stupid to drink nightmare fuel like this... Don't move." he hissed as he put his hand inside her throat, absorbing all the Nightmare Fuel he could find. It took a while before Scipion finally let go of Tabby, thinking he have disposed of all the nightmare fuel. Alas this wasn't exactly the case...
He heard then a loud frustrated roar as Ridley flew towards him. Scipion simply sighed. "Well at least you made it to top 8. It's not that bad. Let's hope that Urbosa is ready for the Death battle, these are my favourites, Eyahaha!"

Zorua's Base
Leaving Marx with a temporary alliance and the request for a meetup, Zorua and NOV-4 discover that the season ended, with the winner being the maid-costumed Rin Kaenbyou.
Zorua looks over the broadcast one last time-noting the brand new tribute, Cyborg Noodle, managing to make third place.
Awww man, talk about beginners' luck. How come I never had that, huh.
But finally, it's over, jeez. Who are we sending in again for this season? ...we do have contenders for this, right?
Your tributes for the Death Battle are Takane Enomoto and DIO, of Seasons 35 and 45, respectively.
Riiight, hopefully DIO does better than he did in the Battle Royale this time.
Meanwhile, in the Arena, a certain vampiric Stand user holding what bizarrely looks like a blue-haired teenaged girl trapped inside a phone, arrive at the podiums.
Well, that’d be jus’ a waste. Why would ya want to deprive the world of such anomaly as yourself?

Power then just realized something.
"Ich, isn't our watch party scheduled to be the Death Battle? While it's fun to watch it with the crowd, didn't we plan it to be just for the two of us?"
In the far end of the room, there's a dance floor with a DJ system. Anyone can choose their own music and groove to it.
Twilight flies to it, puts on one of human!DJ-P0N3's dance mixes, and does that silly dance again.

An eagle
The Arena
Orin decides to hack Cyborg Noodle in the night. Finding a laptop that apparently came from her master, Satori, she finds a manual on how to hack a cyborg, before using it to hack Cyborg Noodle. After doing so, she gains access to her powers somehow. She then eats a red flower in the day after hearing it gives power in a certain universe, but it fails as she overhears the Midnight Crew calling her ugly.
She then goes out in the night, and sees three tributes slipping on the same banana peel over and over in horror. After witnessing this, she rests for the night and then goes to a building in the day alongside Cyborg Noodle. Despite the cyborg warning her, she somehow trips and falls down a flight of stairs, though she is still fine due to actually being a yokai.
Then in the night, they have a yo mama fight. After Cyborg Noodle insults both Satori and a cat that gave birth to Orin before she became a yokai, Orin gets so angry she fires her knives toward Cyborg Noodle, killing her. She soon witnesses as Veradux dies while working on his camp, before President Paylor arrives to congratulate her as the champion and mass murderer, and also her being the final contender for next season.
Detective Gamechanger's Base
As Billy sees the season unfolding after greeting the new arrivals, he receives a notification that Kagerou's body has been returned to his mansion and then revived, and that she'll come to the party after the workers administered the werewolf surpressing serum to her, which is temporary. She still retains her werewolf body parts, but at least she won't get hairy during the full moon.
He then sees Scolippi saying "looks like my fate is to come, alongside these people." Scolippi then points to Mikey and BTS as his Stand randomly rolls around them. Then, Billy decides to call Orin into the base so she can have fun for a short time before she has to return to the Arena again.
Once he does this, Orin returns as Billy says, "So this is my standard procedure for my tributes. I train them first for the Game before sending them in an hour before the Game is scheduled to start, as I learned how a Game is done." He then explains how a season is made.
After this revelation, Billy then sees Kagerou arriving, while Koishi runs back to Satori, Utsuho and Orin, escaping Felix's or the others' attempts to capture her, though admittedly they seem to be distracted by Billy Mays. As for Billy Mays himself, he hands the potion to Felix. The other characters just react in their own ways, with Reimu and Marisa not minding it and Yukari still lazing around, though she answers to Sans she can manipulate boundaries. Byakuren meanwhile tries to deliver a Buddhist speech on peace to stop the fight.
Cirno then introduces herself to the new guests and punners, introducing herself as the greatest fairy and making more puns to them. Meanwhile Billy responds to Psyche first, revealing the power balls after producing a cube from his pocket, before thanking Power and congratulating Arimo.
Billy then operates the power balls, two of them. He first spins them up quickly, before having his Stand lift and throw them at the BTS members with powers. Once they make contact with them, they drains their powers in a blue energy. Billy soon explains that their powers have been removed and stored in the balls, and it can be returned through a procedure if they want.
And finally, Orin invites Satori, Koishi and Utsuho to dance together once Twilight is done. Orin decides to set the music as her theme, before the four all dance.

Kirby
GC's Base
As Kirby watches Orin dance, Mr. Star asks Magolor if he could drive the Spacepod. He responded with yes.
Then, Kirby and Ribbon walk outside and watch the full moon. He then saw someone coming. It's Zan Partizanne!
"Kirby! Do you need help?"
Ribbon and Kirby lead Zan Partizanne to 6k1 and introduced her to her.
Marx's Cabin
Marx, satisfied with his alliance, presses a button on the wall, revealing a hidden elevator. He and his elites take it, and it leads to a huge underground base, staffed by Tactical Dolls and various less-humanoid, but still cute robots. Marx then states to them his alliance with Zorua.

Flashback, Earlier during Season 72
Zarblin's antics, however, didn't amuse the Hero of Time, who swiftly moved to punch the Bokoblin in the nose before jumping further back. "I wouldn't do that if I were you. From your moves, it seems I remind you of someone else, perhaps another hero. But I am NOT them. You'll be better off staying away from me; you do not realize just how dangerous I can truly be if I want to," Link warned before leaving Zarblin behind.
Present Time
Soon enough, it's time for Death Battle. Dave, Fira, and Nemo are among the ones to bid farewell to Mikey, wishing him luck. Then, Link and his companions approach them.
"You be careful out there, 'kay? You wouldn't want me to have to babysit Link by myself, I'm sure," Tatl tells Navi.
"You do realize I'm standing right here, do you?" the man in question replies. "But yes. You know.... when you left me that day, I wondered to myself.... was it my destiny to lose everything? But with you here beside me again, I feel like I can handle the world.... well, mostly."
"I too wish for your safety. Do keep track of BTS while you're at it, will you? You know, try to make sure what happened with Jimin last time doesn't happen again?" Dave requests.
"I'll try my best. Though I think that'll be quite a hard task to do, especially in regards to Jimin himself."
"You know that we all trust you, don't you? We believe that whatever happens, you'll be alright. We're certain of it."
"Alright, thanks," the fairy says, thankful for the support. While she knows she's not very liked by certain people, at least there'll always be someone to back her up.
Hope: "Let's go. We'll be together." Lightning: "I only know... that soon, we'll be together."

As the Peacekeepers were cleaning up the remains, they find the Spigell's brain chip.
"Hey. We could use this in a future project."
"Are you sure about that? Research indicates that due to a little something called the D-Cell virus, their AI has gone rogue."
"Oh, what's the worse that could happen?"
The chip sprouts mechanical tentacles and jams them into his brain
"Takeover complete."
"I don't remember them being able to do THAT!"
"At first, I was like "hmmm, yeah, buff choccy bunny." But bro: I don't think it's a joke anymore..."

6k1 sees Kirby and Ribbon approaching with Zan, who introduce her to her.
"Zan... is there something you need? I heard that Frisk wanted to befriend you, but Power was doubtful of that..."
Deep inside, she also doubts it because Zan declined the offer, only for Kirby and Ribbon to bring her here anyway.
D. A. and the Ramons are seated at one table, watching Mikey wheel his way to his podium. The popcorn popper-like Experiment waddles right next to him.
"Is that an alien?" asks Dad.
"We never encountered aliens in any of our space field trips!" says Carlos.
"According to my research, he's one of the 629 Experiments created by Jumba, including Experiment 0 (aka Cyber), 627, and the as-yet-unactivated 628!"
Twilight approaches Power.
"Wanna dance with me? In the friendship sort of way, of course!"
"Sure thing, Twilight! Wanna join us too, Ich?"

Frisk, Toriel, and Asgore are seated at another table, having golden flower tea.
"Bill Cipher?!" says Asgore, having just overheard what 6k1 said. "You know he pulled cruel pranks on us, why did you try doing that?"
"I'm sorry, but I just wanted to stop him the Pacifist way, like I always do."
"Remember what your sister said? That you can always Flee if Sparing doesn't work?"
"Yeah..."
"And that not everybody can be trusted or wants to be friends with you, like in Ralsei's story?"
"Uh-huh..."
"Make sure you keep those words in mind... okay?"

As he watches his tributes head up to their podiums, he suddenly remembers Voldemort's history with BTS, specifically Jimin. This ain't gonna be fun for them, is it?
Then he looks to Power.
"Well, Pow-Pow, if you wanna leave early and head to your place or the bunker, that'd be alright with me. As for dancing, well... I'm not the best dancer, but I guess there's no harming in giving it a shot. Could be fun."
He walks over to the dance floor, puts on No Roots by Alice Merton, and begins dancing like Ron Swanson when he was drunk on Snake Juice.

Power shoots a glare at Partizanne before joining Ichi and Twilight on the dance floor, stomping their hooves like fillies.
Meanwhile, Sans is asleep standing up on one side of the room. Ralsei's watching guard over him.

After taking over the Peacekeeper, the brain chip begins to scan its surroundings to find another robotic body to take over.
"Scans indicate that the Ravager robot known as the Hector should be underground around here somewhere. Guess they actually bothered to give it a proper funeral before that."
It then begins its search.
"At first, I was like "hmmm, yeah, buff choccy bunny." But bro: I don't think it's a joke anymore..."

After regaining consciousness after the whole Nightmare Fuel Incident, Tabby comes face to face to Scipion while laying down.
"Oh hey there. You seem to be the last person to help me with this problem, maybe you have a Hidden Heart of Gold. I'm such an idiot to drink out of that without inspecting it first, so that's something I need to learn from. "
After Scipion returns to his usual activities, Tabby gives up and straggles to Pecan.
"Hey there,Pecan. I feel so weak after that. Thank god."
"Well, he did stick his hand down your throat. The sight was horrifying but the Nightmare Fuel had to be extracted"
"The fuck? No wonder... Maybe he didn't get it all. It does strengthen dark powers,I guess?"
Tabby makes a dark energy ball, its bigger and more eldritch than usual.
"Shit,He did forget to get it all. Does Nightmare Fuel grow back or get bigger?"
"I really don't know, I'm not an expert on the topic but I know what it looks like. Maybe you can drink Sweet Dreams Fuel as a contraction? It's a hypothesis I have."
"I have to take it at least as a prescription for possibly the rest of my life.Jesus Christ and all of that for drinking something suspicious."
"Well, maybe so. We do have to find a supply of it first. Come on, let's dance."
"Yah,okay."
And so, they went to where the others are dancing. They then have a sudden realization.
"This season is the death battle, right?"
"Yeah, we should go ahead and send Spiderham over to the arena soon. He's the only one I have for this."
"Yeah,let's do this later."

Léodagan, the Bloodthirsty
The Arena
Urbosa emerged from the portal on her podium. She wasn't exactly thrilled to kill people, especially innocent one. But she wanted to do her best, for the honor of the Gerudo's tribe.
She looked as the other constestants arrived, smiling at them, especially at Navi, having heard of the fairy in ancient legends about the Hero of Time. Maybe if they'll meet, she could ask her about Nabooru, the ancient sage of spirit.
At the same time, green flames appeared, revealing Maleficent herself, smirking evily. Urbosa recognising an evil aura from the evil fairy drew her sword.
"Ah. You must have been nominated by that pathetic fox, am I wrong? Fool, I am qualified as well for this Death Battle. And it seems that the famous BTS's band will arrive as well. I met 2 of their members: Jung Hoseok and Min Yoongi. I remember well burning the boy to death, and look forward to do the same with all of his friends, that is unless they decide to serve me..." Maleficent then turned into her dragon form and waited on her podium.
The Party
After being punched by Link, the Bokoblin tried to think about what he understood from Link's speech. The Bokoblin then got up, like if he suddenly understood what Link said... Only to run to the buffet, taking 2 chicken wings and running back at Link while doing happy noises, wanting to share his food.
Not only Zarblin didn't understood a word from Link, he also mistook him with the Hero of the Wild wearing the Bokoblin mask and thought that he was one of his kind.
"Poor Link. I'm not someone who pity others, but getting stuck with Zarblin is certainly a pain." whispered Firebrand to Scipion. "Yeah. I can't stand that hideous pig."
Meanwhile, Giratina sat down, looking intrigued at what a party looked like. He ten got up and flew towards Psyche. "Greetings, young one. Psyche, I presume? I Don't think we have met before. I am Giratina, lord of the Distortion World and adoptive father of Scipion. I have heard that you were involved into what is called "fanfiction". What are exactly these?"
The Dark Star aimlessly wandered around, flying near Asgore, Toriel and Frisk before suddenly stopping as it looked at Frisk with visibly great interest.
At the other side of the party, Thorax approached Giegue. "What do you want? I would like to stay alone."
"Well... I know this is something very personnal to you but... Why are you staying out of the party?"
The alien growled. "How do you want me to join that party when my murderers and the ugly human that ruined my life are here?"
Thorax raised an eyebrow. "I can understand for the Chosen Fours. But isn't Ninten a member of your family?" "Don't even mention this bastard's name! I was foolish enough to give him a chance to join me, but he refused my offer! He is responsible for the creation of Giygas! He is just like my stepfather, an ugly traitor!" shouted Giegue at the shocked Thorax who replied back, a bit angry.
"You are also to blame! Aren't you the one who sought more power to get your revenge on Ninten? Scipion told me about what you did to become even more powerful, what you did to your own alien kind because you blamed them for your mother's death! And Ninten confronted you because you wanted to destroy his kind! The very kind that raised you!"
"My step parents were traitors, just like all of these ugly humans." tried to say Giegue, shaking in rage, only for Thorax to put an hoof on his shoulder.
"You're lying. Even now you still care for your mother and not anymore about the destruction of humanity or revenge. This Ninten may be from an alternate timeline or your past, but he is still a part of your familly, a part of her. Giygas was born from your hatred and unstability, not because of him. I'm not asking you to become the best friends ever, but at least to make peace with him, especially if he's the one from your timeline."
Giegue calmed down, looked at Ninten in the distance before sighing. "Why would you even care?" he said in a sad voice. "Well, althought I met all of you not so long ago and despite what you did, I believe you're not really evil inside, unlike this scary Dark Star. I'm sure you can be more happy, even with Giygas still inside you and your past."
Giegue looked at Thorax, visibly concerned. "... Very well. I will try, but only for you. I hope that Giygas won't interfere..." he said quietly as he began to float towards Ninten, before turning back. "What if... he rejects me?"
"Don't think about that, it will get things worst." Thorax replied, smiling at Giegue before noticing the alternate Twilight and happily went towards her, followed by his annoyed brother. "Oh, they are dancing! How about we join them?" "No way. I'm not dancing, especially with ponies." replied Pharynx. Thorax then gave a cute and sad face to his brother who sighed. "Ugh, fine!"
Taking a long breath, Giegue floated towards Ninten, very anxious about the boy's reaction and unsure about his own feelings. "Nin... Ninten?"

As soon as the Dark Star appears in front of them, Frisk SAVES and summons their barrier while Asgore and Toriel prepare to throw fireballs at it. Said barrier is only big enough to protect the Child.
"Don't you dare hurt this child!" both goats shout at it.
"W-What if it j-just wants to t-talk to us?" asks Frisk. Their face may not show it, but deep down, they're still afraid of the artifact possessing any of them.
Meanwhile, Ralsei continues watching over Sans. He looks back and forth between him and the Dark Star and shakes the former awake.
"huh, wha-? what's goin' on?"
He looks at the artifact, and his left eye glows blue.
Power and Twilight were still dancing when the Changeling Brothers pass by them.
"Power, I hope you don't mind if I ask them what they're up to."
"Alright, just tell me about it when you come back."
