Welcome to HGS: Another Side Another Story. It is a roleplay spinoff for the Hunger Games Simulator forum game, akin to both the RP's in the Roleplaying section as well as the ITTs in Forum Games. It tells the story of the Hunger Games in the Arena of Panem, the nominators who sent the tributes, the tributes themselves both in and out of the Arena or even other people relevant to the Games. In addition, it also tells their stories beyond the Arena.
You can jump right in with any character, like your nominator self, your tributes, etc. The structure of this RP will be open-world. Don't worry about not being skilled/experienced enough or being new to RP'ing. Finally, ASAS accepts any skill level or RP style. Other than these, there are some important rules to note, which are:
- No godmodding will be allowed or tolerated here. The offending player will be given punishment depending on the severity.
- Please communicate anything important you plan on another player with the said player first. Don't just execute it without their consent.
- Don't be rude to other players, both out and in-universe. This extends to RP offenses like railroading, guilt-tripping, coercing, or other forms of forcing them.
- This RP is related to the Hunger Games Simulation:Beyond the Possibilities forum game. Thus it will have events based from that game, including the tributes. This means if you want to RP as tributes, please nominate them officially on the thread first, with misses not being counted. This has to be done after an incident with a player who hasn't joined the game itself yet.
- Since this RP is Loose Canon in relation to the main HGS thread, the host's interpretation of events isn't necessarily 100% canon. Every player has the right to deviate from what the host says and go with their own interpretations. If multiple players have their tributes involved in the same event(s), please communicate with each other so that you're on the same page regarding how you see them.
- This RP chronicles the lives of the nominators and their tributes behind the scenes. While dark plots are acceptable, the overall tone of the RP should be light-hearted and comedic. This RP is not a Cosmic Horror Story or action story about defeating evil. It is a Slice of Life comedy with some adventure to it, first and foremost. Our previous RP, Convergence, is not representative of the intended tone, and the grimdark tone of that RP is one of the main reasons it was retooled.
- Nominators and tributes alike can transform into Pokemon whenever they enter a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon World (but they can bypass this with certain items/methods or shapeshifting) or via other means outside it such as a season event, Transformation Trinkets, or shapeshifting. The players are free to choose the Pokéforms that best suit their characters and even give them color schemes outside the standard and Shiny colors, but there is a hard rule for this. If you want your character's Pokéform to be a Legendary, Mythical, or Ultra Beast, please ask the RP mods for approval. Outside the Arena, these Pokéforms are still OP, but we want to give leeway for tributes who theoretically can have them such as deities.

Detective Gamechanger's Base
A sharp-dressed man in a green suit and yellow tie is standing by the entrance of the base. He is of average height and has whitish skin, though still a bit darker. He is Billy, one of the nominators and the organizer of the party.
Indeed, after the nominators' returned and settled their problems, they decide to have fun with a party. Billy also sent invites for all the other nominators out there, as well as basically anyone else, including tributes, non associated parties, interested nominators who haven't participate yet, or even those who just wants to hang out.
The place itself in the base is refurbished for party purposes. Fancy chairs and tables are set everywhere for people to relax, as well as put food and other objects for the latter. There's also various collections showcased, including those belonging to the Detective, like his classic cars. Various themes to the base are set too, including detective noir as GC would have preferred.
Billy is now awaiting for other guests to arrive. He is also ready to give them a pleasant surprise during the party pertaining to his nation.

Heart does a double take. "Someone's calling me?!"
"No Mom," says Power, "that's what the Waterblight calls 6k1."
"Uh... who?"
"It's the monster that gave us these scars. Long story."
"Oh Celestia..."
6k1 then hands Mimi to Fluttershy and escorts her to her seat, which is next to Twilight.
"Do watch over her please, I won't take long."
She then goes down to where the Blight Ganon is. Meanwhile, Ichi enters the room, and Power goes down from her seat to hug him.
"Sorry that the meeting got delayed, 6k1 has someone important to talk to."
"Anemone dear, I know you want to be more independent from me, but... please take care, okay?"

Waterblight slowly turned to face 6k1, silently nodding.
"Greetings Heart. How surprising. I thought you had an important meeting at hand. In that case, I shall be quick to not waste any time." it said.
"I have come to told you that Scattered Brain in person will arrive in Panem. Right now, they are at the entrance of the solar system where this planet is located. At best, they should land on this planet some days after the party that you are currently planning will end. We know that they are using your scar to locate themselves, so it is very likely they will come to you or one of your counterparts first." The Waterblight explained before raising one of it's fingers.
"Do not panic. They did not come to cause troubles, it would be counterproductive. You can say that they simply wish to at least reveal who they are. Scattered Brain is someone you, nominators, actually know well, that is the only thing I can tell you about their identity. That is all I have to say."
Waterblight moved it's head from side to side, analysing it's surroundings.
"...It has been a long time. Is Ball also here?"
"In this insane place, love is all that stands between us and the great beyond."

Outside the Conference Room
6k1 simply nods at the Waterblight's announcement.
"Oh, you mean Mimi? I'm bringing her along because she insisted, but I don't think her or her sitter would like to meet you right now."
Inside the Conference Room
Power then escorts Ichi to his seat and lets him sit right next to her. She then just remembered something.
"It's Starfall's birthday, but I forgot to buy him a gift!"

Everyone except for Frisk laughs, with Sans' and Twilight's being the loudest.
"I didn't know you had a brain like Pinkie Pie's!"
"paps would prolly do that to one of his friends on their birthday!"
"Hehe..." says Power, "maybe I should just make a quick drawing of him? But I already did that last Hearth's Warming..."
"Anemone dear, I know you want to be more independent from me, but... please take care, okay?"
"Why don't ya just draw up a gift for him with your art magic?"

Power gets her art supplies and works on the gift while waiting for 6k1 to finish her talk with the Waterblight.

"A shame. After this meeting of yours maybe? It will be up to you to decide. You can talk to your comrades about Scattered Brain's arrival if you wish."

Tabby gets impatient for waiting for 6k1 to finish. She decides to eavesdrop on their conversation. The nominator decides to listen along.
"So this Scattered Brain he told me about is coming to Panem real soon? I dunno if he's hostile or not but this doesn't seem good. What does he mean by someone we've met before? I better not jump to conclusions about this."
"Hey Tabby, what are you doing pressing your head against that door? Come talk to us!"
"Ugh,fine. What are we talking about?"
"Dave and Starfall's birthday."
"Oh! I could give him something of mine! I do have artistic knowledge so I could also paint something for him as well. I hope you don't mind."

"Maybe some other time, since we'll be going to the party right after. See you."
6k1 goes back to the conference room and tells everyone what the Blight told her.
"Are you sure about that?" they ask.
"Well, it played with Mimi a few Earth Prime months back, and while she was scared of it, it wasn't so bad after all."
The Starble shakes in Fluttershy's hooves, but says to 6k1, "tell it I said hi."
"Still," says Toriel, "it attacked you before, so if this or 'Scattered Brain' hurts you anyway, I won't hesitate to fend them off."
Sans and Twilight agree with her while Fluttershy, Ralsei, Miranda, and Heart advise 6k1 and Power to stay on guard.
"Well then, shall we start?"
"Sure thing!"
Power summons her gift and wraps it while 6k1 distributes the earpieces, explaining to the newcomers how to operate them. The latter ordered extra to account for the additional guests, and she can just track Mimi with her GPS collar.
"As I've always said in our previous meetings, there are three simple rules: always keep your guards up, don't stray too far away from each other, and have fun! Any questions?"

Scipion smirked to himself as he summoned his tributes. This time he chose Giegue, Ori, Mewtwo and Lemmy. He prefered not to call more evil tributes like Ridley to avoid troubles as much as possible.

While waiting if Tabby and Pecan have anything else to say about the meeting, 6k1 just remembered that it's Dave's birthday as well. Perhaps she can buy something from the gift shop just before they all leave for the party...
Power then raises her hoof. "So... what are we gonna do while waiting for the base to be fixed up?"
"I say that we all hang around here and check out some books!"
"Anemone dear, I know you want to be more independent from me, but... please take care, okay?"

"Well, we don't anything else to say at the least. We could hang out in here once Dave is probably done with helping Bale."
"Yeah, I want to read something or check out the Nominator Archives."
"Yeah seems interesting but let's stick to the main section of the library for now."
"Oh okay..."
"I just want to find some books on how to recover from trauma like being s-se-sexua."
She bursts into tears and anger.
Pecan comes to comfort her.
"I know,he did bad things to you but we will get justice in the end. I'm sorry he had the audacity to that thing...but you'll get better. I know it."
The Servant
Akumo sits down in his room looking at the ceiling moping. Noire enters the room with bravery on her face.
"You know it's weird just being her. I'm the person I've been hunting all along. Just why did you start this?"
"Oh boy, Noire. Before the Destruction happened, I've come across a dark entity, who I still don't know to this day, gave me an offer that he'll revert my old "friend" back to her old self before the Magical Girl bullshit happened in exchange for dark powers unknown to the eye. I took that offer because I was a dumb kid but it changed me for the worse. Now that I'm a slave to the master of Darkness and all sorts of evil deities because of this offer. I sometimes wish a lot of things never happened to me and her."
"I'm Crazy,I'm obsessed with her! She's never off my mind and I want the thought of it gone! I want to break her,I want her to feel my suffering! You saw me taking advantage of her while she's exposed! Something inside of me and her! Gah,I'm never heading back there to the "good days", they are gone. I'm ready to take her down again and I will win!"
"Akumo,please. Take your medicine and calm down. Practice self-care."

End of the Quarters
Flashback
As the battle against the Legion raged, Rainbow Dash performed her signature technique, the Rainboom, putting all her might into it she devastated the Legion's sub-base, taking out several Mooks and lesser villains. From afar, the Neon Quarters were affected by the explosion, their main base was leveled and completely ruined, with all it's occupants being caught in the explosion. Only a few survived, most remarkably Markus. The once proud scientist and maniac reduced to a whimpering barely living being, along with his few surviving minions, with none of his more notable ones being accounted for. Dragging his mechanical and near-destroyed body on the ground as his real body was destroyed in the explosion, he attempted to escape to safety as he saw the fight against the Legion from afar.
Markus: Th-This cannot be... I cannot be beaten this way, I won't allow it!
Soon he saw in the distance what appeared to be a group of humans led by a Nazi general, much to his confusion the humans wore a black suit with skeleton-like features on them and with masks that covered most of their face save for their eyes and mouth, the leader of said squadron approached him and smirked before introducing himself.
???: Greetings, Markus Hasselhoff, I am Colonel Bakarashin Iinodevitch Zol, great and noble General of the glorious organization Shocker.
Markus: THE Shocker? Here in Panem, but how?!
Zol: Indeed pathetic human, we've watched from afar in the shadows, studying your every move and those of the Nominators, when the time comes a new age of prosperity for the Multiverse will begin, with Shocker leading it all. Lamentably you and your allies have been deemed... Obsolete, and must be killed.
Markus: Hah! You think I will go down this easily? Do you know who I am, I AM A PHARAOH, A GOD, THE ULTIMATE-
He was cut off as Zol changed into Golden Wolfman and ripped out his head from his body before crushing it easily with his claws. Due to his base's destruction, there were no backup bodies left nor any escape routes for Hassel from this. In an instant, he was officially... Dead, his ambitions now a thing of the past, forgotten about in a world that wouldn't miss him. His age was over before it even began, for a new one was beginning to be set up for the future. The monstrouos werewolf kaijin smirked before turning to his troops.
Golden Wolfman: Minions, hunt down and kill all the stragglers, now!
He then reverted back to his human form and pulled out a whip to order his battalion of Shocker Combatmen to scramble and kill the remaining staff of the Neon-Quarters Main Base. He then opened a communication device to speak to fellow Shocker Operatives, General Black and Doktor G who were busy taking out the sub-bases of the Quarters stealthily.
Zol: Are the bases sieged?
Black: They are, as we speak we're massacring those who aren't willing to join us or give us information.
Doktor G: We have Ouja helping us out in murdering those who try to fight back or escape, he's currently hunting down Yegor of the KCCO Brand and Alina Gray of the Magius Wings, whom my forces also are decimating as we speak.
Zol: Very good, our leaders are going to be very pleased with the news.
Zol exited through a Madou Portal back to ???'s place to inform his leaders of the destruction of the Quarters and it's allies, as well as organize in order to execute the next step of their plan regarding Panem's government.

"Let's see. She said there was going to be a party." said Magolor. Magolor then makes another videocall and asks 6k1.
"Miss, is it going to be a long time until the party started? Kirby and his pals are about to investigate the Winter's End! They're investigating what happened to the crew."

"Alright, that ends the meeting!"
Everyone claps while Fluttershy adjusts Mimi's leash, muzzle, and collar. 6k1 emails the construction company to expand the Recovery Room, then lets her guests exit the conference room in single file, reminding them to keep their voices low. She then turns off the TV, follows them down, and watches the latest season on her phone.
She sighs when Screwball!Daffy kills Link with Toon Physics, but is intrigued by the cunning plan that Blu and Jewel hatched after struggling to retrieve an axe from the Cornucopia. They also try to chop off the goop that's binding them, but to no avail.
6k1 then answers Magolor's call: "I don't know when the party will start since I still haven't heard from Dave, and I don't think I have time to investigate the Winter's End with you. I do recall their owners fighting in Season 86, though..."
She then goes to the gift shop to buy her present for Dave. Power, who overheard the conversation, finds a book about the café and reads all about it.
"Anemone dear, I know you want to be more independent from me, but... please take care, okay?"

The Psycho Duck
Bale and his crew looked in shock as Clampett Daffy went on a killing spree, first beating Link to death with a mallet, mashing him into an unrecognizable lump of flesh, before stabbing Mysharik to death with knives taped to his eyes.
MG: Holy hell, that's no Daffy Duck, that's a Psycho Duck!
MD: To think he's my idol.
MG: Then again, he did have a murderous streak in "Nasty Quacks"
MD: Yeah right, anyways, want some punch?
MG: No.
MD: ''Too bad!
He then pulled out a Jack-In-The-Box, but with a boxing glove on it and used it to punch MG away into a corner, he then looked at the Grumpy Daffy falling into the Death Star's shaft where he exploded, shouting his last words in anger.
Grumpy!Daffy: Agh, you're dethpicableeeee!!!!!
Bale decided to transport him back afterwards, then revive and send him back to his home universe.
Bale: Well, this certainly gives me mixed feelings on the Season.
Bale then checked his messages and saw Billy's, quickly acting on it he wrote a response to Billy, telling him to send his workers at his old base at once.

Dave's Home Base
Some time has passed, and Hans has finally finished some paperwork leftovers as well as nominating a younger Harry and Ginny. He idly wonders where Dave and Fira are, before then realizing something: the men who were supposed to fix Bale's base hasn't arrived.
"Damn, where ARE they? The message was sent a few seasons ago!" he muses aloud. Clearly, Bale won't be happy about this....
Then, a portal opens, to reveal a team of men lead by a particular young man with golden eyes and hair. The Vice Head Adviser's raises his eyebrows at them.
".... Alphonse Elric, brother of the former Fullmetal Alchemist, Edward. What brings you here?"
"Oh, you are Mr. Hans? Where is Mr. Dave?"
"I am not. My name is Hans, and I'm the Vice Head Adviser, and third-in-command. Lord Dave's currently offworld."
"I happened to meet some men and robots who mentioned that they serve here and that they're supposed to be heading to someone else's base for repairs, and I was able to assemble a team of alchemists with a little help from General Mustang."
"Oh? I am intrigued. Lord Dave and I had sent them quite some time ago."
"Well, you see, they mentioned that something happened with their transport, so they've been hopping from world to world hoping that they'll get there eventually. They also mentioned that."
".... Damn."
Just then, the Soundwave Network representative announces his presence from a monitor.
"Greetings. We have received a call from the party sent to Bale's base."
"Hit it."
He silently nods, and the transmission switches to the leader of the men.
"Mr. Hans, Sir! We are terribly sorry for this, but we've finally arrived at the base."
"Explain yourselves, men. Why are you so late?" Hans replies, miffed.
"We truly do not know. There must have been a malfunction in our hyperdrive system, and thus we were sent hopping from one universe to another. We've just arrived at Mr. Bale's base, in fact."
".... I see. I will have your ship towed back to the Home Base after you've finished the work."
"Yes, sir."
"And what of us? Can we assist?" Al interjects.
"You may do so, I suppose. The more, the merrier."
The younger Elric brother nods, and the team departs by portal to Bale's base, leaving Hans by himself again. Sighing, he begins checking on the Arena and further status reports.
Bale's Base Remnants
Alphonse's team arrives just as the first party beams down from their ship. The leader nods to him.
"Oh, I happen to forget about introducing myself before. Name's Duncan Woodstack. Nice to meet you, Mr. Elric. I do apologize for troubling you before."
"Oh, it's no problem, really, Mr. Duncan. We're happy to assist in any way we can."
"Well, then, let's get to work, shall we?" Duncan replies, getting ready to work.
And soon enough, after some explanation as to the issues to Xochi, the work begins. The construction party handles the bulk of the work, while Al's team assists in restoring certain damaged equipment and other things the main workers need some help with.
Alphonse, however, takes a look at Minato's group, and decides that for some reason, the group makes him feel slightly uncomfortable. But maybe that's just him, and there's nothing to worry about. Besides, he and his team can handle themselves just fine, and he's certain Duncan and his team can do so as well if necessary.
Hope: "Let's go. We'll be together." Lightning: "I only know... that soon, we'll be together."

Meanwhile, the other guests split up and pass the time. Twilight borrows many books from the Universes Wing to study how to forge diplomatic relations with other worlds; Fluttershy does extensive research about Starble care while keeping Mimi from lasering the books; Ralsei reads with Frisk about Harry and Ginny in the Tributes Wing; Sans and Toriel look for joke books and education pamphlets, respectively; and Miranda and Heart research about Panem Law and Medicine, also respectively.
As for Power, she finishes her book and thinks of taking Ichi out to the café someday, perhaps for their next watch party. They could even go shopping in the underground mall or sign up at the guild and take on a quest together! But as Magolor said earlier, its staff mysteriously disappeared, so it's most likely closed.
6k1 then exits the gift shop and shrugs at the ad for a crossover work featuring characters from Kingdom Hearts, Nintendo Wars, Smeshariki, Rio, and Dillon's Rolling Western. She then watches Blu teach Jewel how to cook like his owner, Linda, by manipulating various cooking utensils with his beak and talons. Jewel imitates him by frying her favorite food, Brazil nuts, and she becomes so good at it everything she cooks turns into them.
"I'd try her recipe, but I've a nut allergy..."
Tabby then approaches her and asks where she can find a therapist.
"I would recommend Twilight but the problem you're having with Akumo might be beyond her field."

Xochi was glad to see some help arrive as he was scanning Bale's Base measures and determining how to fix it.
Xochi: Oh thanks for coming, I was really missing having some help around here, especially with that blue haired slacker. Anyways come on and let us repair this base!
He then assisted the team in building the base providing the blueprints of the base's structure.

While Blu and Jewel wear plastic flip-flops and sing along to RM's latest mixtape, the viperfish floats into the Library to borrow a book. 6k1 says hi to it and reminds it to return it to her when it's done.
Power then calls her via earpiece for the mini-recap, and 6k1 tells her that the other tributes voted for Vegeta and Bulma to be executed. The pony gets up, looks for Ichi, and pats him on the head.
"Sorry that you're missing out on the Battle Royale... Don't be surprised if 6k1 misses out as well, that would be the end of her streak..."
