Made a page for this first BCU movie. Still pretty threadbare at the moment. To those familiar with or have seen the movie and comic, please help to expand and tidy it up.

Untuk orang Indonesia yang kenal karakternya entah dari jaman bahuela dulu atau dari komik barunya, tolong bantu isiin dong.

Could you share literally anything about it? You've shared nothing aside from "it's probably called Gundala" and "it has a page (that I'm not linking to)."

If you're trying to get people to be interested and contribute, a bit of effort helps.

That's the link. I'm not sure if it's in the right location or format. I just started it, and will be adding more in the coming days.

It is, indeed, in the wrong location. It should be at Film.Gundala.

Additionally, you need to work on the examples. Most of them are lacking in sufficient context.

  • Badass Normal: Sancaka kicks ass just fine as a normal human.
    • Okay, sounds good, though it makes it unclear if he contends with threats above "normal human."
  • Early-Bird Cameo: Sri Asih, who will have her own movie after this one.
    • EBC is a character showing up earlier in an adaptation than in the original for a small role. This doesn't say anything about her role, her future role, or when she originally appeared
  • Empowered Badass Normal: Sancaka's powers as Gundala provides him with increased strength, endurance, and the ability to shoot lightning out of his hands. He was also able to identify and resonate with a sample object to destroy other objects like it across great distances. How far: An entire city.
    • EBN is "already badass character gets superpowers and becomes superbadass." This, as-written, is just "character with superpowers."
  • Henpecked Husband: Funnily enough, the boss of the gangbangers who just got married turned out to be this.
    • "... is this." and variants are never sufficient context.
  • Noble Demon: Pengkor. He was an evil mobster who will not hesitate to kill politicians who disrespect him in any way, but he truly cared for the orphans he fostered into successful adults and assassins. He outright told his flunkies to escape when all was lost for him.
    • Noble Demon is about a villain who has a code of honor he abides by. This seems to be more "villain who isn't 100% evil"
  • Refusal of the Call: Sancaka was very hesitant to turn into the hero Wulan saw he could be in the first half of the movie.
  • Okay
  • Sympathy for the Devil: Pengkor was a truly evil man, but given his background, where he lost his parents, had half his entire body burned, and was abused in the orphanage he was sent to by his uncle who wanted his inheritance, you can kinda see where all his hate came from.
    • The way this is written it comes across as an audience reaction, not SFTD

Gundala is a 2019 superhero film from Indonesia which was made in an attempt to create a Shared Universe filled with Indonesian-made superheroes called the Bumilangit Cinematic Universe, which was obviously inspired by the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The way this is worded, doesn't it sound like they failed? Isn't it a bit early to claim that?

Cleaned it up a little bit, and other tropers have filled in a lot of entries. I'm not sure how to describe the movie in a more neutral way that does not imply failure of the franchise in general, though.
