HGS Convergence Discussion Thread

I don't know if this is okay since Mett has since disappeared from the site (his only post in this very RP was his last one overall), but I plan to give Asriel some backstory due to his connection with 6k1 as a tribute and a long-lost family member. This also extends to Mett's other tributes (specifically Sunset Shimmer, Lyra Heartstrings, and Steven Universe, since they were also 6k1's tributes in the OT), should I decide to play as them one day. In all fairness, however, he was facing a creative slump in CVG, which is why he gave me the rights to Mettaton before going on hiatus.

Happy Anniversary to Convergence! Yes, we're using April 14 as its official birthday because the pre-split era's part of it.

Unfortunately, we don't know if that can be celebrated in-universe because 1. several nominators are busy/in trouble right now, 2. it's the 1st anniversary of Valecor's rebirth out-of-universe, and 3. someone must have 4th Wall awareness to acknowledge it.

Sorry for triple posting, but I should've said this before the season began, but Bale granted me temporary rights to his tributes for it.

To anyone who's interested in RPing Alina, feel free to take over her if you want to, I've no further use of her for now.

Not so much a suggestion as much as a concept i regret not using, but i has an idea involving non-anthropomorphic, but still cute, objects that could turn into superpowered humans. And these ones aren't anthropomorphic, meaning they can't really move and have to be carried around by someone.

It's basically Soul Eater, but instead of humans turning into superpowered objects, it's objects turning into superpowered humans.

Then again, this idea came to me very recently, when i looked some things up on the internet. Also, the most prominent one is a magical girl's wand that turns into a magical girl herself.

I wonder if i could still pull this off?

Just in case Scipion isn't on Discord, since I've sent the Equestrian Royal Guard to fight two of his bosses, here are some notes regarding their equipment:

They're all wearing the Voidlands suits, but they're slightly weaker than the real ones due to being made with Equestrian materials. I say slightly because they're still magic armor.

As for Flash's shield, it really is indestructible in canon as long as it stays clean, and Shining Armor's forcefield is strong enough to resist most physical and magical attacks since it held off the Changelings long enough before breaking when it bubbled all of Canterlot.

Sorry for the insistent terminology, but the Voidlands Armor is more of a magitek armor

Also reposting from the Discord for Scipion. Should have clarified that the fleet has strong enough armor and shield before that, but again since it will not be a good sport even if I keep getting more losses despite Kendor being quite advanced in both tech and magic, I suppose I can let it slide by having the destroyed ships from the Kendorians only being very few (after all I do admittedly also hold back a bit as I'm afraid I could get called out for being too OP). Also, the Kendorian's battle armors can protect them from drowning, though I suppose the tornados are still strong enough to rip and crush them inside of their armor.

And for the undead, can they be freed from the control? I'm not familiar with Metroid lore. Also I think anyone in universe won't appreciate the fact that all the victims are turned into undeads

Is Panem currently being invaded by the Legion of Doom or something? I feel like I've missed out a lot of things when I was inactive. If that's the case, I have a thought of having the Neon Quarters intervene the fight to boost their reputation as one of the major arms suppliers. They would start the fight using ballistic missiles and white phosphorus ammunition before sending in paratroopers in protective gears to finish off the wounded enemies.

Well, the monster is already defeated, and I think the Legion fleet is defeated too. Will wait for Bale and Scipion though

There goes the only chance for the Quarters to establish their reputation and retake their position as Panem's primary military force. In that case, the only thing they can do is to go for a more convoluted plan and try to indoctrinate children through the church and wait for two decades until everyone would blindly follow the Quarters.

I know the Voidlands suits are magitek, but I said magic because of what the Guard's suits are made of since Equestria is primarily a magical universe. There are a few technological stuff there, too, but they're powered by unicorn magic.

Actually, in-universe, he already knew this fact for a long time, as he spends his time studying and observing the Nominators for a long time.

How does he know that?

Did he left spy-cameras on every Nominator without them knowing? Is he using some sort of device to spy on them? Is he The Omniscient?

You know you can't just have your character know everything "just because" and just say that he's been observing everyone without elaborating

Alright, just make sure not to make your character all-knowing out of the blue.

6K1, for example, tracks down tributes' moves. But she doesn't know everything about the other Noms

Additonally, she's not aware of who founded the Legion because she was busy time traveling when that happened. Studying the tributes is only for Database purposes; outside the Arena, she respects their privacy.

I'm going to bed, but I do plan to finish this mini arc with Power and Miranda before the former disembarks, so yeah, I have some more scenes inside the train.

~Oggy 123 In regards of the murder of Taco, most of us RP players (me, Billy, Psyche, Scips and 9k1) believe that Taco had attacked Psyche instead, as he had a beef with her earlier in the day. You went with a different interpretation where Taco ambushed Fake!Mr. Star, which we would normally be fine with. However, as it turned out, Scipion went with a slightly edited version of the opinion of the majority, which creates a massive plot hole. We'd advise you to further discuss this at the Discord server, as this lack of communication has been a bother from you since a while back, while the server is where most ASAS discussions are placed. You may PM me or Psyche for an invite link.

Also, to help prevent another case like this, we seriously implore everyone to communicate with others to discuss certain interpretations of multiple events when writing it in ASAS, especially if another player is involved. Poor Communication Kills, after all.

Also for my interpretation on the Taco kill as I can't RP for the whole season due to final tests IRL, I headcanon that Billy used his Stand to kill Taco alongside other tributes. Since Billy's Stand can launch various attacks, I'm going to have him go with the generic lasers and bullets for his kill, as Taco isn't a strong tribute. Plus Billy is helped by Fake Mr. Star and Psyche, so he doesn't need to pull much tricks or stronger attacks. And for another detail, while his Stand's units surround Taco, Billy doesn't go overkill on him. I imagine Billy will just fire the necessary shots to kill Taco, all of which hits the target accurately in the vital areas like the head or chest

I won't post until the Taco matter is sorted, but I think it is best that I point out my interpretation of how Ichi's murder went down: basically it was just a typical sibling argument taken too far, and Psyche, already stressed from the Games so far and her increased workload at the fanfic school, loses control of her emotions and accidentally summons Epiphany, which does indeed beat Ichi to death. She deeply regrets this immediately afterwards.

I hope Ichi is okay with this.
