&I agree with both of these posts.
Personally, I think we can easily move examples to Fanon and/or Ascended Fanon.
Edit: As I said later, I think moving examples to Fan Wank would make more sense, and maybe also turning the page into a redirect to Fan Wank.

Yeah, I've defended some pages before that are seen as a bit negative, but I believe they still offer legitimate critique. This isn't one of them.
The description is in open mockery of the people who participate in these debates (even if we really would be better off without the flame wars it references), and the page seems to pretty much exist only for that reason.
The examples may not be anywhere near as negative, but the idea of people arguing headcanon to solve their issues feels like it's better covered by existing Continuity and fandom tropes.

&Considering the page's tone and this thread's response to the page's tone, all I'll say about the inbound count is that the Internet likes negativity.
Speaking of negativity, the "forget the MST3K Mantra" part wasn't there in the YKTTW draft. Quite the opposite, actually.
(Disregard the lack of hats and bombs. That's just part of YKTTW/TLP's Early-Installment Weirdness.)

Still negative and obnoxious, but not as much as the current. Huh. Side note, how did anyone ever know what the hell was going on circa-late 2000's/early 2010's when every example was some form of ZCE?
Back on topic, I wonder if it would be possible to recreate this trope to be way less negative and Holier Than Thou, as "fans try to make sense of the all-over-the-place timeline" is definitely a common concept. Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢

Can't Fan Wank be used for that? Now that I think about it, if those inbounds need to go somewhere, we might as well turn this into a redirect to Fan Wank. Wicks could probably go there, too.
Edit: Now that I think about it, this page is basically Fan Wank but with more complaining. None of the on-page examples for Canon Wank strike me as anything that couldn't easily be moved to Fan Wank's example list.

I don't think Canon Wank is thriving.
The trope page was created back in 2008. Yet there are only 7 examples on the page, 9 wicks to the page, and it's only had 20 edits over the past 11 years.
