Basically in my Science Fantasy novella series, there are human mages on Earth, witches (any species that are basically humanoid can use magic) and shamans scattered across different dimensions and planets. The system on other planets (aka not Earth) mostly uses shamans. I like to use a scientific approach to magic and it shows. Psychic power is heriditary but extremely rare amongst local populations

The alien deities of other planets (according to my novel) greatly forbid magic because it contrasts with the definition of miracles. Unlike deities of Earth, the deities of the other ecosystem take an avatar and commune amongst alien species, so they are bodily and present amongst them. So that answers the first question at least. Also the deities in my novel are powered by the local beliefs.

What isn't possible using magic is resurrecting the dead, which is mainly done by the deities, but healing minor wounds is possible amongst the local population of succubi. Zombies are quickly given a beheading by the deities involved once they are pointed out...

Magic potions and alchemy with traditional herbs are also sold in alien bazaars in a rural environment. World-changing magic is mostly forbidden unless the situation concerns an emergency. There are a small group of succubi who still practise elemental magic- despite the deities of the planet having the whole planet on lockdown. Shapeshifting by shaman magic is possible, but it's a painful one-way process with no cure, as it's often used in a crucial situation. It follows the elemental system of the Chinese (Fire, Earth, Water, Air, Metal)

Minor miracles done by deities include turning water into alcohol, healing the injured and controlling basic nature on other planets... Shamans are often leaders of their clans and the locals look to them for leadership and guidance. The higher ups (The Espers) are otherworldly and use their psychic foresight to help the local succubi in a crisis. There are telepathic dragons present on the planet as well, of which Lady Depthsayer is one.

Basically is there more that is needed to create a magic-system for my novella, or are there any contradictions or loopholes I need to address?

The setting right now, from the way you describe it, doesn't seem all that cohesive. It has a lot of apparently jumbled elements, and your post focuses more on just listing them and not on how any of it's going to be used.

I would focus right now on what parts of your setting you need to make this particular story work. Before trying to add anything new, develop and grow what you currently have, and consider the effects of each fantastical feature on the world and how each feature interacts with others.
