- We recently discovered that a non-US IP address was hitting us with thousands of SQL injection attempts, none of which succeeded. They did, however, put additional load on the database. This wasn't intended as a DDoS attack per se but rather an attempt to take control of the site.
- The administrators activated additional security measures on our Cloudflare firewall that have had the unintended side-effect of causing frequent ReCAPTCHA prompts for users. We are aware of this problem and working on a resolution.
- Improvements to new user registrations and the user experience when suspended or banned. See this post for details.
Mar 21th:
- The adblocker bug (popup message) will now appear for logged-in users after a certain threshold of page views has occurred while blocking ads.
- You may snooze the bug for up to 7 days at a time if you have contributed to the wiki (by editing articles) recently.
- There is now a subscription option to use TV Tropes ad-free for certain periods (monthly, yearly).
- You can use this link to access the subscription system.
- Subscriptions use a third-party payment facilitator called Stripe. TV Tropes does not collect or store any of your payment information. You will be rebilled at the indicated interval unless you cancel.
- Subscriptions are linked to your account. If you change accounts, or are banned, you will lose your subscription.

I noticed that all the little pictures next to "Awesome" "Laconic" "Quotes" "Nightmare Fuel" etc. at the top of the page are gone. Is this an I Pv 6 thing, a bug, or streamlining? If the former, it's a major inconvenience. If the latter, it's taking away this site's personality. If the inbetween, I hope it gets fixed soon. I checked this on Chrome and Firefox.

I see them fine on Chrome. May be a problem with images loading for you.

trope Launch pad - then go to "History". "Active YKTTW's you have started" is there and lists everything I've put out for discussion. But the list of personal edits ("Replies to active YKTTW's") that should be underneath is blank. Is this the same for everybody or is it just me?

Oh, and this thing about adverts suddenly appearing on the search page. not the usual ones at top and bottom and down the sides - but before you get to the search proper, you get two or three entries of irrelevant text, advertising links to external sites which seem to be triggered by the terms I want to actually search for on tvt. Couldn't be in the least bit interested in any of this stuff and it's bloody intrusive. Are you just experimenting with that or is it here to stay?

That's the same issue that I have been asking to fix. The same thing happens with the YKTTW Salvage List. My thoughts are that it still uses the old YKTTW name instead of the current TLP name.
Bunch of updates:
- Bugs should ideally be reported on Query Bugs as - time permitting - I do send a list of bugs to the admins. Reporting them elsewhere only results in stuff getting lost.
- The admins have been dealing with ad and traffic issues lately, that's why there hasn't been much progress on bugs. The traffic issue is especially a problem since the revenue depends on it thus it received priority (if memory serves it was also part of the Kickstarter).
- We are probably going to see a faster rate of bug fixing now that some of this work has been done, and there have been some bug fixes today.

Speaking of bugs, I think the CSS and buttons are broken on my end in the Browser version of the site. I dunno if it's a me problem (I tried deleting a big chunk of my browser history and deleting cookies on this site) or a site problem involving uBlock (site works fine if I disable it or open one page Incognito, but it runs super slow without an adblocker) or some other thing. I'd use the bug report page, but the submit a bug button doesn't work for me. Anyways the problems are Folders, Display options, Resource drop downs, Crucial Browsing, and the Login/Sign up buttons don't work when clicked, the notes put on trope pages do nothing, and for whatever reason, the buttons on the header (such as History) don't load and are vertically arranged in a way where I have to use inspect element to find them. That issue has also resulted in a good chunk of the buttons below (such as Laconic, YMMV, Fridge, Etc) being unable to be clicked unless I use Page source to find them.
little glitch: if you make a new wikiword to a page (that exists) it shows as red until that page is edited. And indexing these takes a series of three back and forth edits.

When I click on Wiki Word to make a new name for a page I get an error saying "Sorry, no Wiki Word exists for this page." The Captain Obvious point being that my reason for clicking on the button is because one does not exist and I want to make a Wiki Word!
For that matter the "Upload Image" button is gone so I cannot upload an image onto the new page.

What article are you trying to make a wiki word for? It has to exist first. Also, image uploading is available only from the edit screen now. This is part of the new design and not a bug.

My observations:
- I assume that "pagination to all namespaces" refers to namespace_index.php (e.g.: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/namespace_index.php?ns=Anime); however, it appears that the pagination is bugged and goes out to infinity.
- "GDPR Integration": This refers to the EU General Data Protection Regulation. Users from affected countries will get a privacy consent popup.
- Locked pages fixes:
- Locked pages now display a popup when edited that contains a link to Locked Pages.
- The lock icon only shows on the main display for any article, not other displays like history and related views. However, clicking those takes you back to the main display without doing anything. So does attempting to load the edit URL manually.
- Moderators can no longer edit locked pages. I assume that's unintentional and we'll get it fixed ASAP.

- I tested the Image Pickin title fix and it seems to work properly. I can change both the title of the topic and the article it links to.
- Crowner fixes are incomplete as noted above and more are forthcoming.

I started a separate thread on the issue, but maybe it's better addressed here... This popup keeps reappearing for me, even though every time I've clicked the "save my choices" option. It happens every day when I open TV Tropes for the first time that day. I wonder what's causing it, and can I do anything to fix it?

I do not have I Pv 6 and for some reason all the Super Smash Bros Ultimate pages are edit locked for me, even though the history shows that edits have been made recently.
