Final Fantasy VII

So, anyone who is interested in RPGs should have a familiarity with Final Fantasy VII. The story's about a BFS-wielding SOLDIER named Cloud Strife agreeing to help the group AVALANCHE take down his former employer, the Shinra Co. Initially, he's Only in It for the Money, but one thing leads to another, a former comrade of Cloud's named Sephiroth, who was believed to be dead and who Cloud despises, resurfaces, and the fight becomes personal and turns into a quest to save the world from both Sephiroth and Shinra.

This game is what introduced me and a lot of people to Final Fantasy, and I still love playing and watching this game. This is the game that made Square Enix a household name.

So, I figured I'd state this now in regards to an infamous plot point that brought up an Ask The Tropers query, but unless someone says otherwise, SPOILERS WILL BE UNMARKED!

It was about spoilers regarding Aerith's death.

Also, there are threads for FFXIV and FFXV, so I figured we can have one for FFVII.

We can sure, but XIV and XV are also games that actively have content coming out. VII... Well, fingers crossed we get an update at next year’s E3.

I feel like Aeris's death is well into It Was His Sled territory at this point. Like, if you're even slightly familiar with video games, you know what happens to this character. Spoilers seem unnecessary.

Yeah. Aerith's death is just so well-known due to its sheer surprise the first time it shows up.

Aerith's death is just one of those moments that have come define video games as a whole, like Samus Is a Girl, "YOUR PRINCESS IS IN ANOTHER CASTLE", No Russian, and so on.

Which, like it or not, has become a rather well-known moment, even to those not familiar with gaming (though that was mostly due to how FOX News overblew it as "You're killing innocent people!" even though you really don't have to).

For those who haven't played it, it's pretty cheap on steam right now because of the summer sale.

I downloaded this game and finished it several months ago. Although I don't think it's the greatest game of all time like some people do, I still think it's a good game. I knew all about Aeris' death and when the mission where Cloud had to crossdress, but the rest of the game was kind of a surprise to me. I'm glad I played it.

The crossdressing part is one of my personal favorite parts of the game. It's funny to discover who wants what in order to get the things needed for the clothes.

I like the Shinra Building as well. Good fights.

Also,I really wish this game had mouse control

I've done every side of each choice (sometimes using save states, like for the Big Safe vs Small Safe for Great Gospel), so yeah, I've taken the stairs, gotten the worst crossdress, and generally done everything I could do.

Speaking of, the crossdressing scene better be in the goddamn remake. If no crossdress we riot!

I actually hope the Cloud and Barret date scene gets the full treatment, same as Tifa, Aeris, and Yuffie.

Partly because of a little bit of gay rights that would take too long to explain in a place that it doesn't need to be discussed in, but mainly because let's face it, Barret taking out the dragon's actor in the play with his gun arm would be fucking hilarious.

I rather liked the original Barret date scene, I dont want them to really change anything.

They don't have to take anything away. Just add the play in. Maybe have them assume Cloud and Barret are a couple, while they both hastily try to deny it but still get roped into doing the play anyway.

I'm a little nervous about the honey bee inn,I'm hoping it makes it in but I could see why they might drop it

They said they arn't planning on dropping anything, but this was way before the leak that they are abandoning all the work they had done with CC 2.

You mean dropping anything from the original game? Nomura isn't gonna drop, which sorta makes me feel safer about the game. My concern is with the content added after the game, like Crisis Core-related content.
