I ‘member a second Series was green lit before the green light was rescinded.

I also remember being forlorn at What Could Have Been.

It seems to be earmarked as a replacement for TT Go. That alone should inform your decisions as YMMV.

It had it's flaws but that's rather hyperbole.

It looks like they're trying really hard to be funny,forced humour does really work well

I honestly don't care one lick about Thundercats but I struggle to see the benefit in trying to make it look exactly like another show.

Looking at the preview, this seems less like a rehash of TTG, but with ThunderCats and more like ThunderCats, but with a style more in line with, say, OK K.O.!.

At the very least, it looks like it'll be more action-packed than TTG, and the guy behind this isn't saying dumb stuff like "we never seen the original show." It sounds like this guy sees ThunderCats as his bread and butter.

It amazes me how CN thinks that this is the future of animation: Take a great action series from the past that had substance and suck out all of the style and Action and turn it into a hipster memefest that only attracts the kids/demographic who like bouncy, non-threatening, brightly colored junk food tv.

I want to blame TTG for this trend, but I think Adventure time is sort of the culprit when it comes down to overlysimplistic character designs and LOL RANDOM humour. But it's Go's fault for making it seem like turning an old franchise into a comedy is a great way to make a cartoon show. Y'know those TMNT shorts done for SDCC by the Bread Winners crew? Yeah, that's the vibe I'm getting out of this!

I'm going to look into this with more of an open mind, but I don't really like what I'm seeing so far. Too much O.K K.O & Teen titans go for my taste.

That's not much of a difference. They still want to make this a lot more comedic and chibi than the original, and that's what TTG is like as well.

Also, The ttg creators already adressed that that was a joke that was taken the wrong way.

So this show probably won't have the same depth as the 2011? Showing how the Cats were prejudiced against the other species and all that.

I don't know why they didn't just revive the fairly solid 2011 show, which had some really decent lore, character development and a good aesthetic.

Cost and legal issues I bet.

Mostly cost. IIRC a Japanese studio did it and they weren’t cheap.

Honestly, I kinda get OK KO vibe from it. (besides TTG)

On the upside, Molly Knox Ostertag (author of Strong Female Protagonist and The Witch Boy and girlfriend to Noelle Stevenson) has evidently done some writing for the show and approves of its presence.

Because fuck new IPs and ideas, amirite? Just find some old shit to bring back and get dat money.
