It is real, but the story is a bit blown up. She is a storyboarder at DWTV and worked on She-Ra for at least 7 weeks, according to her Tumblr and resumé. All in all, pretty low on the staff food chain, as she has no say in story or direction. She's also apparently pretty chummy with Voltron anti-shippers (if not one herself), who are known for their... unsavory treatment of the Voltron Staff (also produced by DWTV).
It is very unprofessional to diss a show produced by your employer on a work account, considering Twitter likes are public, but it wouldn't be that big of a deal if it weren't for a tweet where she thanks Joaquim Dos Santos (one of Voltron's showrunners) for gifting her a piece of art, calling him an inspiration to get into DWTV, while her likes are full of people calling him and co-showrunner Lauren Montgomery bigots for not making a gay ship canon or not having the focus be solely on their favorite character.
So, she was unprofessional, but she technically didn't insult her coworkers, just liked tweets that did.

We should probably drop it after this point, because it’s only going to result in more vitriol. I imagine Dreamworks HR has had words with her as well, since her Twitter shut down.
As someone on another board said, hopefully the fight scenes will be well done, that's pretty much the selling point for action cartoons (heck, even non-action cartoons, shows like Regular Show and Steven Universe have great fight scenes in them). Maybe if this show is a hit we'll see other filmation properties like Bravestarr make a comeback (yes, I know She-Ra was made by mattel, but several characters never had toys and were a creation of filmation).

J. Michael Straczynski, one of the creators of She-Ra, shares a few of his thoughts regarding the character creation process and some of the anger over the new character design. One post in particular that I found interesting (which seems to be a response to certain people saying "She-Ra is supposed to be the ideal woman"):

I REALLY hope that is aimed at the Boob Nutjobs.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.Well it's aimed at the 'ideal body people' and the boobs who complain about..Ra she's appearance
New theme music also a boxWhoa, I didn't know Straczynski was involved in the creation of the original She-Ra. And a good chunk of his words, especially at Post #2, reinforce my piece of mind on what I think of how She-Ra affected my youth pages ago:
"Most of us saw She-Ra as a woman not only a role-model for the gender, but also one on equals with He-Man. Instead of just brute-forcing shit around, she found pacific means to end a conflict most of the time. She felt empathy for her enemies. You didn't usually see stuff like that on animation in The '80s, and that, not her goddamn body, was what made She-Ra magic for people like me."

Growing up, it's like a civil war, don't turn away, it's something you can't ignore...You know he isnt on the side of the Big Boob thing.
Discord: Waido X 255#1372 If you cant contact me on TV Tropes do it here.Neither am I, what's your point?
And before you lift that finger of yours to point at me, read the previous pages of discussion.
I am on neither side on this stupid war. And I am actually sick of this, so I'm heading over to the Videogames section, where Sonic Mania Plus is being discussed and things are healthy unlike those culture wars everyone actually seem to be wanting to wage.
God, we're really on a point where a Sonic the Hedgehog thread is healthy compared to anything on modern western animation. That sorta sucks.

Yet another piece of evidence that you can learn something new every day.
I wonder how he feels about She-Ra making a comeback...

One of two creators, apparently. The other one is Larry DiTillio.
What's with all this framing of people being creeps as "culture wars"? Feels like an attempt to legitimize people who definitely shouldn't be.
Agreed, calling this culture war seems odd, when it's once again the usual suspects from GG/Comicsgate/other reactionary misogynist internet movements doing their thing. It's not really a two-sided thing.
Yeah, I'm honestly more than done with the toxic and entitled shit from the "animation community". Not the people who just happen to not like something and leave it at that, but the stunning lack of self-awareness from certain people that the world doesn't personally revolve around them and what they want, especially when it comes to a show meant for young girls.
I shudder to think how these guys would have redesigned She-Ra.
Disgusted, but not surprisedHow I would of redesigned She Ra I would of give her a look similar to Sophita or Cassandra from post Soul Caliber 2 games (y’know the fanservice-y kind where their tits are out and plenty of panty shots).
Yep, that’s how I will design her in my idealized Master of the Universe that is aimed for adults that takes the whole Conan the Barbarian in Space premise to its logical conclusion.
Now if I was redesigning her for a younger audience . . . yeah pretty much it would be the current design for this show. I always envisioned her looking similar to Amythyst from those DC Nation shorts in terms of designs. My only complaint would probably be just the face in certain shots (which is funny enough the same issues I have with OG She-Ra’s design). Otherwise this is a pretty good rebooted look for the character.
Honestly the whole controversy surrounding said design is the very definition of a “nontroversy”.

For a brief moment I had forgotten that Youtube is a cesspool. I'm not making that mistake again.
Disgusted, but not surprisedIf its not related to anime or video games, there is a good chance that you will end up in the bad part of Youtube by simply typing an existing property.
Don't Judge me, need more views: https://www.deviantart.com/big-k-2011 | https://bigk1337.newgrounds.com/ | https://twitter.com/BigK64133I would say that not even anime or video games (especially video games) are exempt.
Okay at least the anime that isn’t moe and video games that have the Nintendo Seal of Quality.

"They truly were a Aqua Teen Hunger Force"Was She-Ra supposed to have a presence at SDCC this year? It’s probably as good a time as any to debut footage for an October release, if said footage is ready.
Okay, so the linked shit is hoax?
