And not just any Doc Ock but the well-intentioned scientist who also lost his wife during an accident that made into a supervillain.
Let's also not forget he voiced Destiny in Justice League Dark.
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadOkay I'm seeing people theorize that next season Joker may become his White Knight Jack Napier persona as a result of being dunked in that special acid while Bats may become The Batman Who Laughs because he may have gotten dunked in acid.
How would that sound seeing those 2 versions adapted here?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Well after watching most of the show, of which I was skeptical, I would say that:
- The show is good and enjoyable but certainly is a parody of the DC Universe, I mean if you expected something on the lines of Young Justice or Batman: The Animated Series is not, is more like watching Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law.
- Ivy is more like Daria than her comic counterpart or is just me?
In general I feel that the producers must be applauded by taking risk, the show is certainly risky by many reasons, specially by playing so much with this kind of material and spoofed it (which is sacred for a lot of people and we know what happen when you "touch" someones "childhood" by changing it in any way *ahum, The Looney Tunes Show* ahum*)
In fact I'm amaze on how the "YOU'RE RUINING MY CHILDHOOD" is not a thing on the internet right now for this show, may be Internet culture is getting less toxic (?).
But anyway, as I said if what you're looking at is more of a nostaliga trip with the superheros/supervillains of your past, like the announced sequel of Batman TAS that recently came, or a straightforward action superhero show like Young Justice, well is not. Is a parody comedy show, again, more like Harvey Birdman or even like Ugly Americans but with more action.
This of course is not a bad thing, it's only different, again the Looney Tunes examples comes to mind. Let's see where it goes.
PD: The closest example that comes to mind I think is Batman: The Brave and the Bold which was also comedic and spoofy, just that it was PG of course.

I actually enjoy how comic books spend years establishing sacred status quo and now when we make stories that defy it, it feels really special.
Also,I find it funny how the main cast obviously has the Plot Armor but reccuring side-characters always suffer sudden death out of nowhere.
well that also remembers me of Ugly Americans, what I wonder is if the show was an influence, I mean both have a very similar style, we see all sorts of monsters/creatures/witches etc walking around as part of society in both shows and both shows have a little Audry expy on them (and the voice and accest is even similar).

I've said this multiple times now. But I feel bad for Kite Man. I like him, but his relationship with Ivy was doomed from the start. I don't expect them to make it far in the second season. Don't get me wrong, I want Harley x Ivy, but I hope we can do it with out loosing Kite Man.
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadI’m just hoping they don’t make him a jerk to push it. Especially because the wide cast of exaggerated characters doesn’t need to make up jerks when it’s easier to lean into canon jerks like Joker.
Ya know Harley critiquing Ivy on dating Kite Man is hella hypocritical considering who her ex-boyfriend, like she has any right or moral ground to judge her.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I can imagine it becoming a problem for her how presumptious Kite Man is about their relationship.
I mean, proposing marriage after a few weeks of dating is at best rushing things. But the fact that he posthumously refers to her as his fiancée even though she never accepted his proposal, that's just poor etiquette.
Funniest option is if he breaks up with her because he takes a long hard look at how he was behaving after her death and goes 'yeah, that just wasn't healthy'.
What's precedent ever done for us?Weirdly something I could see happening.
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadI like the theory that the hand we see at the end of the episode wasn’t Joker, but Batman.
Also - and it’s Black Comedy at its finest - but I’d love a “who gets custody of Robin” episode, with Harley somehow getting thrown into the middle. Bring Dick, Jason and Tim in, but none of them want him.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Man I would love that.
Edit: Removing my stupid joke.

Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadBut the hand goes from white to normal and you hear Alan Tudyk's laugh turn into a normal laugh.
Regarding Joker, I hope they lean more towards either Going Sane or just do something original. I hate, hate, HATE Batman: White Knight and the less that is legitimized, the better. I also think the Batman Who Laughs is already getting overexposed.
Latest blog update (November 5th, 2022).I kinda wish we could see some sort of Normal Man scenario where the suddenly normalized Joker is struggling to find his place in the world. It could lead to some unexpectedly profound places.
Perhaps he becomes a hero and be leads a resistance against the villains.
Well they’re cut off from society if it is Batman: No Man's Land, so having the White Knight mess with Harley and her crew could be interesting.

I have never heard of Batman: White Knight. What happens in it?
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadThe Joker gets "cured" and tears apart all the usual stuff that happens in Gotham.
Wake me up at your own risk.Batman: White Knight is an alternate universe story (continuity is weird) where the Joker fixes the chemical imbalance in his brain and becomes sane, then decides both Joker and Batman have messed up Gotham something fierce and actively works to repair the damage.
Also, there are two Harley Quinn’s. Harleen Quinzel, psychiatrist and more akin to the Harley in the show, and Marian Drew, who is Suicide Squad Harley Quinn and later the Neo Joker, a representation of every negative aspect of Harley.
I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if we get Harley vs Neo Joker next season.

I actually wouldn't mind them going the route of jack napier where even as a human he was nasty and th is would lead to him not Changing but wanting to return back to how he used to be in order to return to being the clown prince of crime.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."The weird thing about White Knight is that it try’s to be a Joker redemption story but then it reveals that Joker hasn’t committed any major crimes. Apparently the police at one point say they can’t arrest him because he hasn’t committed any felonies.
And that the 1st Harley left him when she thought he just killed a guy & so the 2nd Harley is portrayed as an insane violent killer to make the 1st Harley look better.
So it ends up majorly white-washing both characters all the while portraying Batman as such a violent lunatic that even his own family think he’s losing it.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."
Oh hey, Doc Ock is voicing Mr. Freeze.
