I'm just forever amused at how Matt Ryan's Constantine is seemingly as hard to kill as the comics character. Cancel his show? He immediately migrates to Arrow. Copyrights make it hard for him to appear again? He gets basically a solo animated film. And now his own animated series.

Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureJ.M Dematteis gives me mixed feelings but I have faith. Justice League Dark was mediocre at best, but part of its central problem was the fact it was a Constantine film trapped inside a Batman film wrapped around a Justice League Dark film. Like, every other member who's not Constantine or Etrigan is kind of useless (Zatanna suffering from the flipside issue that she's too OP so the plot keeps bending itself backwards to take her out of comission).
He might work with Constantine alone.
Btw, has it ever been clarified that this is the same format as Vixen? (small minute episodes) The only source I've ever said that was our own tvtropes page.

So I heard this show isn't set in the Arrowverse after all?

Constantine based on the DC/Vertigo series Hellblazer which starred Matt Ryan was a show on NBC which lasted only one season. Fans petitioned the CW to pick it up.
That allowed John Constantine to show up on Arrow in season 3 and he will also appear on Legends of Tomorrow in season 3
The CW recently revealed that they were working on a Constantine animated series on the CW Seed starring Matt Ryan as John Constantine. It will premiere in 2018.
