Windy as fuck earlier, especially before sunrise. Temp soared into borderline hot territory of about 80F (~27C).
Mind you, it snowed not long ago. This is typical for April, it can be winter one day and summer the next (and sometimes back to winter the next day after that). And there's not a lot of April left. May is a summer month in Colorado despite the mountains still usually having a fair bit of snowpack still left in em.
"Allah may guide their bullets, but Jesus helps those who aim down the sights."I miss the wind.
"Listen up, Marina, because this is SUPER important. Whatever you do, don't eat th“ “DON'T EAT WHAT?! Your text box ran out of space!”Speaking of weather rapidly switching, that happened to me as well today. No thanks to my day of work, by the time I got back to my flat, the incredibly warm temperatures we were having all day suddenly took a nosedive. I didn’t even get to enjoy the warmth. :( Now I know what the girl in that science fiction story “All Summer in a Day” feels like. Yeah, thanks a lot, Jewel-Osco. >.>

Flora is the most beautiful member of the Winx Club. :)So I guess spring has finally come. We had the first rain shower of the season yesterday, and it was a short one. Today, we had some more showers, and in one place, there was even a thunderstorm, much to my surprise; I thought it wasn't warm enough for that yet.
I look forward to getting to go outside and watch thunderstorms a little bit later on this year. I really love the sound of rain.note

My AO3 profile. Let sleeping cats lie and be cute and calming. The rest of the week is now the opposite from what the weekend was like. The temperature has fallen from the 80s to the 50s (Fahrenheit) and the clouds and rain are going to be on again/off again all week.
Sheesh, enough of these tastes of power. x_x I want it to be warm and sunny on a constant and consistent basis.

Flora is the most beautiful member of the Winx Club. :)It rained a bit, and it smelled so nice.
"Listen up, Marina, because this is SUPER important. Whatever you do, don't eat th“ “DON'T EAT WHAT?! Your text box ran out of space!”Rained most of yesterday after a hot weekend. My rain gauge has just over .8 inches of rain collected. That's more than half our entire month's worth.
Kinda cool today as a result, I have also briefly seen through the off and on clouds today that the mountain got a noticeable dose of fresh late season snow up high.
We're probably done with snow for the season at my elevation (6000 feet) however.
Summer is roughly upon us, it's gonna get real hot real fast these next couple weeks.
"Allah may guide their bullets, but Jesus helps those who aim down the sights."I was hoping for rain today so I could get a pic to accompany my new track, but it looks like the rain's not going to end up coming.
SoundCloudSpeaking of rain, Monday and Tuesday (yesterday) brought about 2-3 months worth of rain in a single storm that lasted most of a whole day. My rain gauge had 3.5 inches (~90mm) measured since Sunday. Every last creek and stream and river came back to life yesterday and went high as a result. Very little flooding otherwise though, the soil was way too dry, the water tables way too depleted from last year's dry summer.
Normal for the month of May in my part of Colorado is less than half that. (Usually around 1.5 inches.) We've had coming up on 6 inches of rain this month, at least 5 for certain.
And from what I see of the mountain, there was a veritable blizzard up there from about 9000 feet and up.
Which begs the question, why are we getting March/April level moisture in what is supposed to be the opening of summer? I don't want it to stop yet but I'm curious as to why.
"Allah may guide their bullets, but Jesus helps those who aim down the sights."So apparently our village saw a local hailstorm while we were at work today. Dad and I were going home and saw all these white pellets in the ditch, and we were like "What the hell happened here?". Then we understood that it was hail.
And holy shit, what a hailstorm it must've been! The hail was the size of soft-air gun pellets, lying almost in piles on our yard. Our poor maple tree had a lot of its not-yet leaves (Blossoms?) strewn all over the lawn. And apparently, it had been hailing so hard that it destroyed a fix for a leak Dad had made some time ago somewhere near our chimney, resulting in me slipping in an unexpected puddle of water from the rain dripping through (Because, yes, it was also raining when we came home). Good thing our attic is mostly sawdust that dries out quickly, but Dad realized that this meant that he has to fix the leak again.
Our neighbour had been out planting new flowers during the day, and the hail completely destroyed them. She was quite upset about that.
The weird thing is that it was very local - We had good weather for most of the day in town. It only started raining when we left work. And since today was apparently one of those days, this meant fairly heavy rainfall and a thunderstorm.
Weird weather today, in other words.

My AO3 profile. Let sleeping cats lie and be cute and calming. There was a tornado up near Limon today. (Over open prairie, nobody hurt nothing damaged as far as I’ve heard.) A bit of a long way from me yes but the same storms that caused that are hitting here today.
"Allah may guide their bullets, but Jesus helps those who aim down the sights."been a few weeks of "cold" and rain over here, which is honestly surprising. not that i'm complaining, it's just unusual to have this kinda constant weather in a place that usually feels like hell's waiting room
https://nightmarecho.bandcamp.com/ https://zdiminished.bandcamp.com/ https://twitter.com/lynnsmadmoneySo far counting what I had yesterday in the rain gauge, the month of May in my part of Colorado had around 7 inches (~177mm) of rainfall, not counting the three or so inches (76mm) of snow that fell a little over three weeks ago.
Normally the month of May had less than a quarter of that. That's almost half a year's worth of rain (about 40%).
And how do we start off June? It's raining again. I'll take it over fire danger any day.
And this is the first year I can remember in a long time that it is NOT north of 90F (~32C) by June 1. We haven't had any such days yet anywhere in Pueblo county. Normally they're common by now.
"Allah may guide their bullets, but Jesus helps those who aim down the sights."I hope there is a while before the next heatwave, cuz yesteryear there were at most 40+ degrees Celicus!
"Listen up, Marina, because this is SUPER important. Whatever you do, don't eat th“ “DON'T EAT WHAT?! Your text box ran out of space!”I love how it smells when it rains.
"Listen up, Marina, because this is SUPER important. Whatever you do, don't eat th“ “DON'T EAT WHAT?! Your text box ran out of space!”Same! Sadly, we don't get to experience that smell much now that we have to wear masks outside...
A great Mascot Mook.Best way to get around that? Open la window!
"Listen up, Marina, because this is SUPER important. Whatever you do, don't eat th“ “DON'T EAT WHAT?! Your text box ran out of space!”Me too.
To me, each season has its own distinct smell, and while spring and fall both smell like water, the smell of spring water is different from fall water.

It’s finally sunny and 77 degrees today. (That’s 25 for the Celsius fans). For some reason, though, a few of my coworkers are still dressing up like it’s the autumn or winter. :S
