So, apparently we're going through all four seasons here in the Illinois/Indiana area tomorrow — The high temperature for the day will be in the 70s, there's a chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon/evening, and then the temperatures will drop as low as the high-20s with a chance of snow.
Regarding thunderstorms, we're also in the 2 out of 5 category for severe weather, so... I'm keeping an eye on things.
Cold turkey's getting stale. Tonight I'm eating crow.Been windy in Colorado. Chance of rain today, snow likely in the mountains.
Not a great chance but it exists.
It’s almost March so the snow better step up. Mud season is soon in the mountains so we need that last bit of snowpack buildup. My house has 45 of 60 inches for the season since last October. Still need more.
Well... the severe threat in my area has been upgraded. Pretty damn terrified right now.
Cold turkey's getting stale. Tonight I'm eating crow. For some reason we're getting a "dip" in the temperature. It was around 40-50 degrees within the past week, but for the next few days including today we're in the 20s-30s. I'm wondering if this is an annual thing here in Minnesota, like how we get blizzards during "March Madness".
If you play with fire, you're gonna get burned.Oh, I'm not far from you... I'd better check the radar.
SoundCloudCount me in. I just got a tornado watch.
I smell magic in the air. Or maybe barbecue.Had a snow squall warning earlier. Quickly intensified band of heavy snowfall with some relatively high winds with it.
Gave us a quick half inch to an inch maybe. Not bad considering it was cloudless and dry and halfway warm at 10 this morning.
I'm also under a tornado watch. There's a lot of uncertainty right now, and I'm not liking it.
Cold turkey's getting stale. Tonight I'm eating crow.I’m also feeling it. Aren’t we still in February? Aren’t tornadoes usually a spring and summer thing? :S
I smell magic in the air. Or maybe barbecue.February is a spring month. At least if you use the astronomical basis that is the cross quarter day. Cross quarter day to cross quarter day as a season. So in our case, February 4 through roughly May 2 is an astronomical spring with the vernal equinox in the center. Just as May 2 through August 5 would be astronomical summer centered on the June solstice.
I’ve noticed it makes a better signpost for seasons because I’ve noticed seasonal changes do not start with an equinox or solstice. We had winter cold and conditions long before December 21 and the ground thawed and started slowly turning green in the lower foothills and plains of Colorado in the last 10 days. Already things have begun changing, getting warmer and that’s how it always is here.
I always thought March was. For us northern hemisphere folks, that is.
I smell magic in the air. Or maybe barbecue.Yeah, February typically is a winter month, but I've been noticing that February and early March even sometimes show the signs of spring early, depending on the year.
Speaking of that, I'm apparently under a tornado warning right now (they're seeing some radar-indicated signs of rotation in a city I live about an hour away from)... and I'm home alone in an apartment. Well, uh...
Cold turkey's getting stale. Tonight I'm eating crow.Where I am, summer seems to last far after August. We get lots of ~80°F (~27°C) days into early October. 😓
It reached 66°F (19°C). Sprinkled a bit, but nothing too major. Nice breeze, good cloud covering.
He/they | Mostly here on my free daysI can still remember that one year when it was already 80 on St. Patrick's Day. That was fun. :)
It does make me miss my grandma, though. :(
I smell magic in the air. Or maybe barbecue.Apparently, all warnings/watches in my area have been canceled — and it doesn't look like there's much of a chance for anything else to happen at this point. (To be fair, all I was really seeing tonight was some thunder/lightning.) There were apparently some tornadoes that still touched down in the Chicago area tonight, though... hope everyone was okay.
I remember that earlier this afternoon/evening when we were under a tornado watch, I still saw quite a few people outside enjoying the 70 degree temperatures. (I've seen a lot of fellow Midwesterners joke about how we don't take tornado watches/warnings seriously )
That being said, the temperatures are expected to plummet tonight, and we may even get a little bit of snow. Good thing I brought my coat...
Cold turkey's getting stale. Tonight I'm eating crow.Yeah, I'm okay. :) And so is my car. If there really was hail tonight, it must have been very, very small.
I smell magic in the air. Or maybe barbecue. That's good to know!
Yeah, part of the reason we had to clean out the garage earlier was so that we had enough space to park in case there was hail tonight — I was hearing that we could've gotten hail the size of golf balls, eggs, and even limes. Talk about Serial Escalation...
Unfortunately, my dad doesn't have a garage (he lives in an apartment complex), so he and his neighbors' cars would've probably been fairly damaged had we gotten hail that big.
Cold turkey's getting stale. Tonight I'm eating crow.In my area, a tornado is confirmed and I woke up to a weather alert from my phone.
I'm in shelter right now.
He/they | Mostly here on my free daysWeather wise, it’s not uncommon for Colorado to do the same with the pattern of one day is 75-80 degrees, then it plummets to 30 and snow and never recovers the temp until spring.
Likewise it’s quite common coming up here in April to be upwards of 75-80 and it snowed two days earlier. March can be anywhere from near zero early in the month to north of 86 (30C) has happened before. (It’s unusual when it does that, but not impossible).

And yesterday’s snow squall brought us at least a solid inch maybe two to my house. Froze up underneath pretty good too. Today is cooler and a lot less wind. I expect nearly all of it to melt today. Rumor is we might next get something on Sunday but the chance is low.
It feels warmer than just 59.
I smell magic in the air. Or maybe barbecue.I like heavy rain, if only because it reminds me of Bubble Man's stage theme from Mega Man 2.

I smell magic in the air. Or maybe barbecue.Overcast, barely any wind, and cool; 50°F (10°C). Perfectamundo.
He/they | Mostly here on my free daysIt just snowed here so I'm gonna use the walking pad indoors.
If you play with fire, you're gonna get burned.
That moment when Ohio weather.
But seriously, we got maybe 5-7 inches of snow the other day, and now it's 60°F (15°C).
