Cat lover here as well. I have three and I love 'em to bits.

Despite growing up with cats, I never realized how much I loved cats until I got my current ones and saw them grow from kittens. They're just so smart and have such distinct personalities, and it's so rewarding when you like them.

If you told me three years ago that I'd be living with multiple cats and have co-ownership over one of them, I'd have looked at you funny. Now, my boy Kovu essentially demands daily belly rubs.

Powder has had an unfortunate tendency to get harassed by magpies.

So today, when the radio played the sound a magpie makes, the poor cat stopped relaxing and ended up on high alert. Seems like a magpie’s ”laughter” has become a Trauma Button for her.

We've always had a house full of animals here. Mostly cats off course. Really, I've only experienced a two week period where we had no pets.

Currently we own two young cats. First we have Patoe (Pronounced something like Pattoo). He's a orange shorthair and little over a year old. He's a sweet little guy with a very distinct "stuttery" meow, though he's a bit withdrawn at times. Then we have Plumo, the newest member of our family. He's a black cat and quite the little shit. But he's also very sweet and loves to be pet.

It is a sad day today. My cat got diagnosed with both FeLV and FIV from a blood test taken after abscess surgery.

Oh damn. I'm so sorry. Love your cat as much as you can while you still can.

He successfully ripped open his stitches today, but the vet says he's in a lot better shape than a week ago.

Poor kitty. :(

My little Dusty turned ten years old at the start of this month. I'm pretty sure she still thinks she's a kitten.

He's still getting used to the cone, but is starting to figure out how to eat and drink with it.

Hard part will be today because I get to rinse his wound with disinfectant before putting the cone back on.

Dusty hated her cone when she'd had to have surgery. I had to reinforce it because she wiggled out of it a couple of times. Silly cat.

Does anybody else's cat make growling noises like a dog? And I don't mean yowling, I mean guttural growling like a dog. I swear the way he meows sounds like a howl too. He was raised as a kitten in an environment with several dogs and we wonder if he learned from them because the other cats weren't as kind to him.

I'm not a cat owner myself, but apparently it happens enough that you can find plenty of YT videos.

Eddie doesn't growl but he has a very deep meow and one HELL of a yowl. It's nicknamed The Mighty Screm or The Velociraptor Scream. He does it when I'm not in the same room as him and he wants that to change.

People legit think he's sick or injured when they hear him do it but he's not, he's just being lazy and dramatic.

Dusty's never done that, just howled a bit at times. Usually when she's about to get the zoomies... or when I wasn't looking where I was walking and almost tripped over her.

Am I the only one who sings "Delilah" to their cat? (The Queen one, not the murder ballad.)

I make up song parodies for mine ("Dusty Dusty, give me the mews, I got a bad urge to snuggle you") and also sing "Memory" (from, of course, CATS).

Have you heard Queen's "Delilah," though? It's from Freddie's swan song, "Innuendo." I don't want to say my cat's name - he's a tom - I kind of force his name into three syllables, but other than that...

I’m continuously amazed by what an excellent hunter Powder is.

Today, she brought in a rodent (Not sure what kind, migt’ve been either a field rat of some kind or a gopher) that was the size of my foot! I’d upload an image if I could figure out how the blasted function worked… and also it might be against the rules now that I think about it, so perhaps it’s for the best.

I don't want to be "that guy", but you should keep your cat indoors so it doesn't kill wildlife like that.

I consider my cat an indoor cat; he disagrees.

As an Aussie I can't help but agree, cats are a menace to our native wildlife, not to mention I have heard horrid stories of people killing wandering cars.

That said I'm not gonna push people.
