They should totally bring back Prince Haru and Prince Pine as opposite-gender Peach and Daisy analogues.
Just bishie them up a little.
Bleye knows Sabers.I'm feeling a little skeptical about Origami King at the moment. I think part of it is No A marketing feels like its focusing on bells and whistles like the music or this commercial emphasizing how funny the game is:
I don't know, I'm getting flashbacks to Team Sonic Racing which also went all in on the songs and animated shorts rather than really highlighting the gameplay all that much; eventually amounting to game that was okay but not really with much depth present.
Still waiting for a Legion of Losers movie...I mean, game for kids, but also the last few trailers already went pretty in depth as far as i want to know without getting spoiled. Honestly the latest 5 minute one revealed a little toooo much.
Yeah, they actually told us enough a lot at this point. Not sure what more they can show without spoiling everything.
"They truly were a Aqua Teen Hunger Force"Plus the game comes out soon, so any more gameplay trailers and they spoil.
From what gameplay I saw, it looks fun.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.Nintendo Force had huge articles and letters about the PM series as a whole in their latest issue. About... I'd say 10/11ths of them preferred the 64/TTYD style, in particular TTYD. I love that style too and also the newer styles (my fave PM games are 64 and Color Splash), but it was the way they were written that felt disheartening, like a step beyond a joke. The articles were like 'and many long-term fans of the brand are certainly not fond of its recent reality' or 'somehow 16 years have gone by since the last time Paper Mario fans were sold a game that truly feels like the brand'. There was also some SPM complaining for good measure, talking about how the story was good but the gameplay was paper-thin and the puzzles were 'about as fun as looking for your keys.'
They had a highlight section of Paper Peach's highs and lows and had CS as one of her lows because she sent Holo-Peaches to talk to Mario, which didn't make much sense to me—I could see if it was 'she got drained of color' or 'her spying was offscreen' but nope, it was Holo-Peaches. Meanwhile poor Sticker Star Peach barely appeared at all but she wasn't even mentioned. There was also a 'Peach turned evil in TOK on purpose because of her reduced role in the past two games' joke. I kinda felt like it was pre-emptively hypekilling for TOK or at least a 'temper your expectations' thing even though the game isn't out yet.
I guess the issue title, 'Bent Out of Shape,' was a clue about the content inside XD The issue's poster was even a double-sided TOK/TTYD poster so you could choose which style you liked best. (I should check the Color Splash issue and see if they had a CS/64 poster!)
Either way, I'm excited for Origami King! :D Just 9 days to go!
On another note, as unlikely as it sounds I hope one of our partners in the next PM game with them is a Bombshell Koopa from Super Mario Land. That way you get a Koopa AND Bob-Omb utility in one partner!

The Protomen enhanced my life. This is really funny for some reason
Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢That's amazing XD
Speaking of, I found some cool fan art depicting a battle between Mario, Olivia, and an origami Luigi, plus art of human Olly and Olivia that's basically 'oh no they're hot.' XD
The Protomen enhanced my life.Ooo, that Luigi art is cool! I like that extra detail of his logo on the kart being replaced with Olly's.
Those human designs are cool, but I think if Olivia and Olly were human, they'd be shorter.

Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢You know, i've been wondering how this game would work in a regular non-Paper Mario Setting.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.I also saw art of Olly and Olivia that wasn't origami-style but still kept to the Paper Mario style, and another human Olly.

The Protomen enhanced my life.I feel like the Final Boss will be a Bowser/Peach fusion as a Fandom Nod to Bowsette. I obviously could be wrong though.
It's been 3000 years…Edited by Crossover-Enthusiast on Jul 8th 2020 at 9:17:28 AM
Jawbreakers on sale for 99¢I think the penultimate boss with be a Dual Boss of Origami Peach and Bowser, while the final boss will by Olly, possibly fused with Olivia.
Either way I'm convinced Origami Peach will be a boss somewhere, somehow.
The Protomen enhanced my life.10 minutes of gameplay footage are out, revealing battles give confetti and coins in place of EXP, with the former fulfilling the same role as paint in Color Splash.
Can't say I'm totally surprised, a lot of the mechanics from the beginning felt inspired by the more recent titles.
Still waiting for a Legion of Losers movie...I get less and less enthused about the game as more about it is revealed.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with? For me its just shifted to something I'll get down the line used or at at discount rather than full price at launch. It looks to be a charming title, but its an action adventure game with battles more than anything else. From what I've seen its unfair to call it another Sticker Star, though Color Splash 2 might not be that far off.
Still waiting for a Legion of Losers movie...yeah ill wait for this to go on sale
"Have a good day. Have a good week. Have a good month. Have a good year. Have a good life." ~CiviaNintendo games don't go on sale.
Bleye knows Sabers.I'm waiting for impressions but "no EXP" just kinda killed dead any chance I had of being interested unless they really bring their A-Game.
Count me in the still excited camp.
Combat looks fun, and the game feels energetic.
No EXP isn't really a deal breaker.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.I'm waiting for reviews on this one.
As I said before, as long as the money you get can be meaningfully used towards getting upgrades, I'm fine with it. Okami made that work. As far as I can tell from the footage, you get most of your money from the battles. I too though am waiting for the reviews.
You can only write so much in your forum signature. It's not fair that I want to write a piece of writing yet it will cut me off in the midI'm just saying I've never played an RPG that tried some kinda No EXP mechanic that worked better than "kill dude, power up."
I found two important things before the big database hiccup:
One: You can pet the Chain Chomp in the Origami King.
Two: I think Flavio from TTYD is a native of Jewelry Land from Yoshi's Safari.
