Given how much they got in just one day, I'm wondering if they'll actually end up with enough to just make the damn movie on their own.
With all the memes about women choosing a bear over a man, Hollywood might wanna get on an 'East of the Sun and West of the Moon' adaptationWill it be an actual movie, or will they break into song every ten minutes?
Your momma's so dumb she thinks oral sex means talking dirty. One would hope not. Not that that would necessarily ruin things, though.
I remember playing the Dragon's Lair game back in the day. And watching the series on CBS Star Cade (boy, I'm old). It'd be great to see this realized. If it's successful, maybe they'll do a Space Ace one, too.
I admit, my reaction is a resounding "eh". Let's be honest here, Don Bluth had a really good run in the 1980s, but it was followed by what I just recently called in my overview of his work a decade of decay. And no offense to Dragon Lair fans, the game is incredible dated...especially the design of the female main character. I guess you could turn it into something fun, but I would prefer him tacking a new idea instead of treading old ground.
His animation itself never became bad though(hey even bad movies can have good animation) and he did always want to do Dragon Lair movie considering how long that has been vaporware
The only film he made that I actually overall hate is Thumbelina. I find the majority of his films fun to watch. Yes, even Rock-a-Doodle.
With all the memes about women choosing a bear over a man, Hollywood might wanna get on an 'East of the Sun and West of the Moon' adaptationGuys we have two topics on this (I linked the other thread above already), can we decide which one to keep the discussion in?
I agree, but titles can be changed, so if the previous thread is used, we can just ask a mod to change its title later.
We usually go by the oldest thread anyway.

Isn't Bluth a little old to still be working?
I mean, not even looking at the Kickstarter, I assume that he plans for this to be his final creation, but...
Richard Williams is still working, and he's four years older than Bluth.
Great, another reason to die young...
I respect a guy who can keep going like he's doing at his age. And yeah, same for Richard Williams. He's even lampshaded his age in his final project title during production.

My art Tumblr![1] Really need to get back on that...Excuse me, but isn't it against the rules to have a duplicate thread?
We've already talked about that, now is just kind of a waiting for one to get kicked.
My art Tumblr![1] Really need to get back on that...I think mods can get duplicate threads merged into one.
Chuck Jones was still doing cartoon shorts in his mid-to-late 80s.
With all the memes about women choosing a bear over a man, Hollywood might wanna get on an 'East of the Sun and West of the Moon' adaptationSome of the last things I know Chuck Jones did were some early (if not around the first) Flash cartoons with a character called Thomas Timberwolf, so he still had some life in him before he eventually passed on.
That might be handy, ahah.

My art Tumblr![1] Really need to get back on that...I'd watch this movie.
Threads can't be merged. Locking this one as a duplicate.
For those who don't know, Don Bluth, creator of several animated classic movies like The Secret of NIMH, An American Tail, and The Land Before Time has launched a Kickstarter to make a movie of the cult arcade game Dragon's Lair.
From the looks of it, the Kickstarter itself is to fund the 10 minute short they want to create to pitch to studios to make a full length movie.
