Maleficent 2? Really?
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."Yep,gotta make a franchise from it,they're probably hoping to make it a trilogy
New theme music also a boxI guess Aurora fell asleep again.
Wait I'm confused. Weren't people complaining that the Beauty and the Beast remake didn't deviate enough from the animated version? Now the Mulan remake is diverging fairly wildly from the animated version and people are complaining about that?
This song needs more love.Big difference here is that their cutting a character who people really identified with (Shang) and replacing him with another and it;'s viewed as move to please china
New theme music also a boxYeah, Shang was a lot of girls' first crushes.
Isn't the Rose Red thing really old news?
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?I thought it was dead in the water, but then again, it is only a rumor, so it could very well be dead in the water still.
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."Rose Red sounds a bit too fanfiction-y for my taste.
Nah it's a pre-existing thing.

This song needs more love.
Yeah, despite the name, that Snow White has nothing to do with the more familiar one we all know and love.
I know I'm just saying that they didn't pull the name completely out of thin air.

This song needs more love. They kind of did. What they did was take a name from something entirely different and mash it into a story they already had. The connection is, at best, superficial.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.I don't really see it as all that different from when Alice in Wonderland conflates the Red Queen and Queen of Hearts into a single character? Two separate entities that don't make sense as the same person? Yes. Common mistake that even fans have made and has simply seeped into our Pop Culture for one reason or another? Also yes.
Well, the most glaring difference would probably be that those are two characters that are part of the same narrative, and the fusion involves fusing both aspects of that narrative into a single distillation of the story.
Given what we know already about the plot of the Rose Red movie, this is basically just grabbing the name from a random story and throwing the rest of that story away, sticking it onto another story that's more famous for the sake of brand recognition, and delivering a plot that has little to do with the narratives of either story entirely.
It's, again, the difference between convenient Composite Character and a rather cynical In Name Only.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Someone was at CinemaCon and got a first look at Tim Burton's Dumbo.
I lost all interest the moment they revealed it was a Human-Focused Adaptation.
They cut Shang? But...but...Shang :(
First look at Tigger, Eeyore and Piglet. They all look great and cute! I have to say, it's pretty odd seeing Piglet wearing green like he originally did after being so used to him wearing pink.
"Lucian, don’t be afraid, we’ll make it through this."So, here's something somewhat related to this thread:
You know how there'll be a live-action Kim Possible movie?
The "casting roll" with the previous voice-actors of the characters is hilarious, too.
Tony Bancraft reveals that Mary Poppins Returns will have 20 minutes of 2D Animation in the latest episode of The Bancraft Brothers podcast.
So, two massive 'WHY?!' within 3 posts. GG Disney.
