It's best not to expect a Direct until September, and I would say not expect one until next year at the earliest.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."2021 seems overly pessimistic.
Well, with the PS 5 and the XBX on the horizon, Nintendo's future does seem bleak. The lack of Directs and the uncertainty of whatever plans they have for the rest of 2020 merely aggravate the problem.
(By the way, if they're indeed planning a general Direct in September, it'll be the first in one year since the last Direct of that kind, with the last one being in September 2019)

135 - 169 - 273 - 191 - 188 - 230 - 300Nintendo is arguably still in a decent position at the moment.
- The pandemic will likely have a negative impact on the sales of the (probably expensive) next gen consoles while a bunch of people already have their hands on the Switch.
- Next gen isn't coming until like October anyway.
- Even if Directs aren't in the cards for a while, Nintendo is still capable of dropping a random high profile game reveal or two. We did get Paper Mario with no notice.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Saying their future is bleak is odd. They've never paid much attention to Sony or Microsoft as competition since they're focused more on unique gameplay innovations and their stable of first-party titles, and it works out for them fine.
You cannot firmly grasp the true form of Squidward's technique! The other key thing to remember about XSX and PS 5 is that they will also be supply constrained just like the Switch is at the moment and based on what there PR has said, they are planning to expect shortages during the launch months because of it.
Also, the Switch has a starting user base and both the XSX and PS 5 will need to build there's up and both new consoles will be around US$200 more than the Switch.
The only thing saving either will be any backwards comparability and Game Pass-esque services.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."So bleak that they're having trouble keeping enough Switches on shelves in its fourth year while still at launch price.
Switch is on track to sell better than any console in history.
Nintendo's fine.
Speaking of, any good eshop games? I just finished Murder By Numbers. Great Phoenix Wright inspired Picross that got a bit lost in the last act (as a lot of Phoenix Wright-esque games do, including the originals). I'm looking for something else to play in between Xenoblade sessions.
Blossom Tales is a really good indie Zelda.
I also like The Messenger.

Ukrainian Red CrossPanzer Dragoon is a fun rail shooter
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life! The Binding of Isaac Afterbirth+ is a fun roguelike game, if you don't mind gore, Body Horror, and other dark shit.
It's been 3000 years…Tbh even if you count Nintendo as competition with Microsoft and Sony, it wouldn't even be the last place. That belongs to Microsoft. XBOX hasn't had any FFVII or Animal Crossing-caliber exclusives for a while iirc.

Where there's life, there's hope.IIRC, Microsoft's supposed to do a stream showing off exclusives for the Xbox Chimney in July, so I wouldn't write it off just yet. That being said, unless the next Halo game is freaking good, I don't see how it can compete against Nintendo and Sony who are both absolutely killing it.
It's been 3000 years…They announced a bunch of studios they acquired at E3 last year. So it looks like they’re going to be trying to step up to the plate.
Whether that succeeds...we’ll see.
Xbox has the inherent and eternal problem of being owned by Microsoft.
I predict that Microsoft will bow out of the console race after this or the next generation. They are a software company with a side line in hardware, and would prefer to rent out their servers as a streaming solution. Nintendo and Sony are both dabbling in the use of Azure, so when that takes off, Microsoft will stop making consoles, instead releasing their games on Windows, PSN, and Nintendo Whatever. Sony and Nintendo will host their Internet services on Microsoft servers.
Ukrainian Red CrossSo, with Sony and Mircosoft coming out with new consoles, will Nintendo do the same soon?

I predict around 2 years. The Switch feels like it's in its midlife right now.
Where there's life, there's hope.A Pro-esque upgrade is imminent but we probably won't see it for a couple more years.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with? The Switch has legs. I'd be surprised if it didn't keep going for at least another 3 years. If a Switch Pro/*New* Switch/Super Switch/whatever comes out, I can easily see Switch support continuing through 2024, though 2025 might be pushing it.
We're likely to see a mid-gen hardware upgrade next year at the earliest, with rumors of the next gen beginning to pick up speed around then (Iwata announced Project NX after the launch of the N 3 DS).
Nintendo could stretch the Switch into 2023, maybe 2024 at the latest.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."A quick Google search tells me that there's usually a five year gap between Nintendo systems. Which means that the Switch's successor should in theory release in 2022. That said, with current world events I would be surprised if it came out in 2023 instead. That would also still work because whenever there's a gap longer than five years it's usually only one year longer so a gap of six years.

Pokemon Presents live broadcast tomorrow June 17th at 6 am PDT.
Does not mention what it's going to be about.
Probably just a showcase of the DLC since it releases right afterwards, but maybe they throw in some surprise like another Galarian Form or additional info's for the other DLC.
Yeah, I read the same thing. It's consistent with how they revealed Origami King, as well.
