Basically being an offensive stereotype of latinos. He's a teenage, latino con artist.
Flim Flam was latino? I've never seen him as an Ethnic Scrappy, just a Scrappy.
Either way, he was annoying without any of Scrappy's charm.
I think Flim-Flam was Chinese, actually.
"I shall not be foolish again, my dear Gwendolyn!"I always assumed he was Tibetan, since they met him in Tibet. Though characterizing the series' only ethnic character as a natural born scammer is still skeevy no matter what.
He did have his moments, so I didn't hate him as much as some other people did, but I understand why he would be disliked. I do think the series should have fixed him rather than lampooning or avoiding him, though (same with Scrappy).
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. The 13th Ghost movie's depiction rescued him from the scrappy heap without any lampooning. They just wrote him as a really nice person.
The Boomerang app revealed new promo art◊ of Scooby Doo and Guess Who?, featuring a classic looking Mystery Inc and a looming array of familiar guest stars (from the fictitious Sherlock Holmes and Batman to celebrities like Weird Al and Chris Paul).
Just a reminder of the show's premise:
Pretty much, though I don't think the episodes are going to be an hour.

So basically this generation's The New Scooby-Doo Movies.

First trailer for Scooby-Doo and Guess Who just appeared:
Spotted the The Funky Phantom crew in that trailer (where is Mudsy himself, though?), so it looks like other H-B properties are fair-game.
"I shall not be foolish again, my dear Gwendolyn!"...Sia?
Wow, this really is retraux. I was expecting something more modern. Going with the retro aesthetic isn't bad, though. The series basically lives on nostalgia, so nostalgia they'll go for.
It's on Boomerang? Not the main Cartoon Network channel? Bummer.
Since 2015, Boomerang became the home of updated, re-imagined versions of classics like Scooby-Doo, Tom and Jerry and Looney Tunes. So, it's a given that Boomerang was considered to be the perfect home for the series. And yeah, I also wish that Cartoon Network had it, but since March 2016, it's not CN's business anymore to have those kind of properties described above.
But I still saw in the credits "Executives in charge of production for Cartoon Network", so it's weird to me all this situation.

"Scooby Dooby Doo!"I thought Boomerang was just for reruns. I wonder if this show will rerun on the main CN channel.
I don't think so. Maybe just a few times, but I don't expect that to happen.
"Scooby Dooby Doo!"It might, or it might not. While Boomerang is pretty much 80% new versions of old shows, it’s rare that a show is outright made for that network. Most were made for CN and eventually moved. If the show proves popular, I wouldn’t be surprised if it made the jump to the main channel, a la most of Disney XD’s shows.
On the other hand, CN does generally treat Boomerang the way Nick treats Nicktoons - that is, the place series go to die a slow, neglected death. They haven’t really invested in new content for it before, but I’d their approach to it is less like Disney Channel’s and more like Nick’s, they could be already setting the show up to die.
Which, given the tumultuous politics of the last Scooby Doo series, is perhaps an actual - if cynical - possibility.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.According to Kidscreen, Cartoon Network will be airing the show, starting on July 8th. The Boomerang channel, as expected, will air it sometime in 2019 too (presumingly after both its app counterpart and CN).
Rachel Kimsey will also be reprising her role as Wonder Woman from Justice League Action. If the casting choices for DC characters continue like this, can I just pretend JL Action's having some crossovers in the meantime?

Wonder how that Zombie Island sequel will go. Seems some people are concerned it will pull a Maybe Magic, Maybe Mundane again.
I'd argue that's not, in fact, what 13th Ghost did but that's probably largely irrelevant.
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."We got a trailer.
The unsolved mystery thing is odd considering they did solve the case.

Agree. They know the zombies are for real reanimated corpse and not animatronics, souls of all the victims haunt the island warning away just about anyone who sets foot on the island, the criminals responsible for the murders are immortal cat people using voodoo magic rituals to retain their immortality and they all almost died for real in the movie. The only unfinished business they have was regaining all the proof that had to show the world that monsters and demons do exists.
I think the movie is going to have the main villain (whoever it is) recreate the incident for whatever scheme, but I hope this doesn’t pull the same magic maybe excuse as the last movie. It would be an insult to our intelligence to write off all the above shit I listed as some kind of delusional state from eating those hot peppers.

Another obvious difference is that this is the young, still mystery solving gang, where Zombie Island had them Older and Wiser and split up.
"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.IKR. Especially with the trailers implying this is happening after the events of Thirteenth Ghost where the Mystery Inc has recently disbanded officially.
If it is a sequel, then that means Mystery Inc retired twice and for some reason went back to their old school 70s attire despite in the late 90s calling it outdated. Either they are following Friday the 13th logic when it comes to continuity or Mystery Inc are just the Terry Funk of mystery teams.

This movie also seems lighter and softer than Zombie Island.
So about Curse of the 13th Ghost, I've been hearing recently that the "ambiguity" over whether there was something actually supernatural going on was enforced on the writers by the higher-ups. Anyone have a source for this?
The pig of Hufflepuff pulsed like a large bullfrog. Dumbledore smiled at it, and placed his hand on its head: "You are Hagrid now."Tim Sheridan mentioned the supernatural ambiguity in this podcast at around 25:15.
