On the matter of Tenchi Muyo!, there is this fantastic video going into the detail of the philosophy therein, with a lot of Junian analysis and linguistic elucidation.

Perhaps, some thirty years from now, someone will make a similar work studying the profound and mind-shattering implications of this touching little show, in all its flaws and glories, all its confusions and frustrations and triumphs and catastrophes.

"Curse of the Blood Moon": *Removes the Blood Moon from the equation*

Me: Oh good, now Starco can happen without any uncomfortable implications.

"Cleaved": *Starco directly causes an unprecedented interdimensional event, bringing sudden change and chaos to the people of two worlds*

Me: Oh.

Mina could have been a great Fawful type villain, but all we got was this.

Great, dimensions are merged. Hopefully the new influx of predators and prey won't end up destroying societies as we know it. This is a textbook Esoteric Happy Ending at its finest.

So I guess Toffee really was Killed Off for Real and his Famous Last Words meant nothing. I was REALLY hoping for a big battle with Mina but it never happened. Well, unlike "Adventure Time" and "Gravity Falls", the hero did get the girl (um, I think he did?), but there wasn't nowhere near as epic a battle as the last one. It looks like "Adventure Time" and "Gravity Falls" had the better finales over all.

I guess by default Regular Show had the best finale of all of these cartoons as it had both an epic final battle AND the hero got the girl. Why is it that Regular Show wasn't as good as those other shows, but it had the best finale of all?! That is something that will puzzle me if I live to be 100.

Yeah, they should have made this a full hour long considering they released two half hour episodes for the last season. I'm going to say it right now. The last season was the weakest of them all. It was still great, but not as good as the other three. I wasn't expecting this AT ALL. The finale DEFINITELY could have been better, but it was still awesome. I had no idea that would happen.

I think it's safe to assume Star and Marco will get married eventually. Also there's definitely a Sequel Hook as Mina is still out there and Star and Marco have their whole lives ahead of them. Yeah, I was thinking it would end with a Babies Ever After, but there's always fanfiction, my friends.

There's always fanfiction...

Thank you Daron Nefcy, for giving us one of the greatest animated shows of all time. Starco infinity.

I did felt that this season is weaker than the previous ones, but anyway for some reason I almost always find series finales to be underwhelming. Exceptions I can count on my both hands, especially if I'm not counting series that were cancelled early.

[up][up]Mordecai got "a" girl, not either of the 2 established characters.

Also could you stop with that, it's kind of important here...it's not important in those other shows.

probably, since Ludo was able to go to where Quasar is, its unlikely to be an alternate timeline

@randomness

Pretty much. Shipping never really felt like a driving force there or any of the other major animated shows. Like yeah there was shipping, but it was never to sheer extent as in Star vs. Also, this has to be the first time I've seen anyone criticize the AT ending since most everyone I know loved it, ditto for RS. And isn't SU on extended hiatus and not ended yet?

[up]

Yeah there's a lot of stuff that feels like they really didn't think it out in the greater context. Only in how it affected Starco...which isn't new these past two seasons.

Yeah that's why the talk about its finale threw me since as far as I know it's still ongoing.

On Star vs other shows though...I'd say it was the weakest. My grounds for that are that it felt incredibly disorganized with a lot of plot threads not going anywhere and lots of characters being massively under utilized to say the least and I think that was due to the show trying to tackle FAR too many plots and themes all at once instead of focusing on just a few and often times also wasting episodes on what was ultimately just filler. All of the others felt more focused and better utilized their respective casts. This isn't to say it was a bad show, just very flawed and could have been done better if they trimmed a few things and used characters better and differently.

Welp season 4 as a whole was terrible. As far as I'm concerned, "Conquer" is the ultimate true series finale, and s4 isn't canon

I can ignore a full season of shipping drama, character derailment, and a crappy ending that involves the main character being responsible for the deaths of possibly millions.

Just mostly, can you settle for that?

Wouldn't be the worse choice made by a desperate and emotionally charged magic wielding teenager.

I think we can agree none of this would have happened if Justin Butterfly was made the kingdoms ruler like Skywynne originally wanted.

[up][up][up] But season 3 had Marco as a bit of a Jerkass, no Echo Creek episodes except two...one of which was just there to dump Jackie-Lynn. Oh and the shipping was even more obnoxious then.

This season was actually pretty relaxed with everything until the final arc, which itself was fine until, the end of "The Tavern At The End of the Multiverse"

[up][up]Yeah season 3 had a lot of problems. After the Battle of Mewni, the show went downhill fast.

However the Meteora arc was handled great and I was left satisfied at the end. I guess ending the show at "Toffee" would keep it's god-tier status, but I think season 3 is still solid on its own.

Season 4 was just blah throughout and then ended with Star committing genocide because finale. None of the double length episodes were good. Butterfly Follies, Curse, and Cornonation, were all milquetoast, Cleaved was just rushed. At least season 3 had Monster Bash and Divide/Conquer

I'm okay with the ending, though the Inferred Holocaust does bug me. Glossaryk and Heckapoo may have been willing to make a Heroic Sacrifice, but none of the other creatures made of magic got a chance to agree.

I actually liked the way they handled Marco and Star's relationship. It was nice to see them date and flirt with other people. That made their relationship more real and more earned. They did date other people, but still decided to come back to each other.
