Since Sora and King Mickey are the primary canon characters who'd qualify for Big Good at the end of KHII (unless we count Yen Sid), and the primary Knight Templar, Eraqus, is kinda sorta long since dead, my options are to either infer that Sora and King Mickey are the Big Good Duumvirate from lack of stated evidence otherwise, or to assume that there's some big council of OCs who do a lot of shot-calling and who are such hardliners as to make Eraqus look like.... well, like Sora.

It's less trying to imply things on my end, and more trying to make sense of a puzzle without all the pieces that go into it.

Trying to deconstruct OC/Self-Insert Keyblade-users:

Most 'Keyblades' are forged: Since Keyblade can be made by normal means (Sora's version , it's not really that special then any other weapon really. The only notable exception is when a Keyblade naturally manifests like the canon characters, the jerkass rival OC's and Sophie (the female OC).

Natural Keyblade-users are given special treatment and training: The military would make sure that they're well trained and have good leadership skills. Though since they're teens (The usual age I think these characters are? I'm not sure but I'm going to assume.) they're naturally going to get a big head/get arrogant. I actually consider 'getting a big head' and 'arrogance' two different things. Getting a big head can be made gone by a slight taste of humble pie. Arrogance however, would require a high dose of humble pie and something traumatic. The reasons why Sophie isn't affected is as follows: One, she's twenty and mentally older then that. Two, she witnessed what the Heartless could do first hand. (Read: Doomed Hometown) Three: She's to busy being the Team Mom to care. Four: She's friends with a guy who is trying to be Adam West!Batman prepared to make up for being the Team 'Normal'.

Teens are dumb: True fax. But seriously, they could make impulse decisions that ends up killing them or the enemy seduces and kills them because teen hormones.

Oh, sorry. The M9 pistol that Snake and Raiden use is modified to shoot special tranquilizer bullets instead of regular rounds. It lets players to do pacifist runs.

I can see the SI using it to non-lethally capture enemies and to avoid killing people when he can.

So, I have a rather odd dilemma. To make a long story short, I want to have a Cait Sith cameo in Disney Town for my fic. The dilemma? The accent.

I'm much more familiar with the original FFVII, where he did not speak with a Scottish accent. Do you think people would object if I wrote him based on the OG script? It'd be a lot easier for me than trying to hunt down clips of his compilation self. I've tried with... next to no results.

If you're trying to avoid writing a Funetik Aksent, you could just have one line saying that he speaks with a Scottish accent and then never mention it again.

To answer your actual question, I don't see any reason why people would object. (Not that that's a guarantee.)

It's honestly just a matter of localization dissonance. In the original game, he has a very casual way of speaking up until disc 3, when he randomly starts speaking with a Southern accent. Come AC and beyond, he's suddenly got a new dialect, throwing out 'lass,' 'lad,' etc. It makes sense, given the character's origins. It's just tricky to reconcile the two different sets of speech patterns.

Oddly, I don't have the same issue with Cid and his spontaneous southern accent.

If you don't want to give him the Scottish accent, then by all means, just don't do it.

I don't think anyone is going to give you grief over it.

I... have a desire to write the self-insert a Violently Protective Boyfriend at best and a Yandere at worst toward his friends. This is because I'm making him The Unfettered and The Determinator when it concerns his friends survival.

Does that extend to "hurt them a bit now to keep them from getting hurt worse later" type of logic?

Generally, though, the Self-Insert is you. So if you don't think that you as a person would behave a certain way in certain circumstances, IMO generally the SI should respond as you would. In theory, that's the entire point of an SI to begin with.

My parents might be dead or Heartless.

My brother is missing.

I'm in constant danger.

My friends and my love interest might die at anytime.

I have to kill people. It's a war after all...

We're facing the most Badass Final Fantasy villains ever, not to mention the OC villains.

And all my games get destroyed! And I have no form of escapism because of it.

I've already posted my works here, like, numerous times before, and all I'm seeing is more about your self insert character and his Gundam powers.

For what it's worth, I'm planning on checking your thing out at some point, because a setting post-worlds-finding-out-about-each-other sounds interesting, but right now I'm awash in a sea of backlog so it's not likely to happen any time soon.
