It's reminding me A LOT of Evil Con Carne, which is a good thing in my eyes. It's also genuinely funny too, the exchange near the end of the first episode about Lincoln and his one weakness, BULLETS, was great.
I really don't like how they localized the title
Er, for the show itself, the first episode was entertaining but I really have no idea where it's going to go. Could well end up sucking
No idea where it's going to go? To world conquest of course!
I'm reading this because it's interesting. I think. Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot, over.&: Yeah I mean, the Opening kinda gives the end of the series away.
These are the words that shall come from my mouth. I shall be known for speaking them....Ignoring that that kind of prologue tends to be misleading, I meant more that I'm not certain what kind of series it wants to be
You mean a giant stamp uh...stamping "conquered" on Earth?
I'm reading this because it's interesting. I think. Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot, over.Giant hands that kill all of humanity?
"No, the Singularity will not happen. Computation is hard." -Happy EntI prefer a show where I don't exactly know where its going to one where I know exactly how it'll proceed.
Like I left it out of the OP, but when trying to watch Witchcraft Arts, I think someone said it best that there's just no chemistry between the leads. Like there was some cute stuff there but it was sort of drowned out by how generic the main characters were. But with this it just seems to have a good deal of fun about itself.
These are the words that shall come from my mouth. I shall be known for speaking them.Episode 2: In which we get introduced more properly to our cast.
...You know, I think the /how/ of their world domination is easily the more interesting factor, since we know that in some way it's going to happen, but...these people are /so/ incompetent and seem mostly like they're just playing around, so how they'll get from that to success will make the show.
In any case this does continue to be quite amusing and interesting, and I hope to see it do well. Definitely one of the more intriguing shows of the season. Also apparently all the previews are going to be Yasu fanservice. Rad~
Why do you fight? Why do you exist?I found the second episode to have at least some redeeming qualities. Might actually decide to follow this.
Check out my fanfiction!Well its like Firestorm said, it's like anime version of Evil Con Carne.
These are the words that shall come from my mouth. I shall be known for speaking them. When I saw Episode 1 I just thought it was something like a Widget Series. I then heard somewhere it's supposed to be a Perspective Flip parody of Sentai, which made it make more sense.
Episode 2 seems to be what we should expect out of this show: The adventures of what should be a Goldfish Poop Gang, but somehow isn't.
The second episode continues the first's themes of home and family. Frankly, it seems to me that that's the real "plot" here rather than the nonsense about secret organizations and world conquest. Not that they won't conquer the world, just that it will be less important thematically than the personal feelings of the characters involved. I'm expecting "abandonment" to be a theme for the other members, if the show ever bothers examining them closely. As always, there is a danger of aiming too low.
I think it's cute but otherwise fairly unremarkable, and will take a lot to get to "remarkable." I'll probably keep following it though since I like Yasu and Itsuka pretty well, and I'll want to see how exactly a ten year old manages to take over the world once they get back to the plot.
Episode 2:
- Worry not, Asuta. They'll get your name right in due time.
- Like your chair, Doc.
- White Light, huh? And their codenames are birds. Instantly reminded of The Yakainu.
- Since their home base can switch locations(as long as there's an empty lot, I guess), I suppose it's alright for them to have a sign outside. Wait, no it's not alright.
- Yasu's so cool. In his dreams.
- Deathly cooking. Good thing Asuta knows how to cook.
- World conquest begins at home.
Post over.

So yeah, it was a pretty fun episode, but I'm still wondering what the overall structure of the show will be.
These are the words that shall come from my mouth. I shall be known for speaking them.My guess is Zany Madcap antics punctuated by Sentai battles.
Best case is it turns into something like Gatchaman Crowds where it goes off in some unexpected but cool direction. Probably a bit unlikely, but would be neat and the possibility is there.
Blondie's choice of cape and clothing is either very brave or very foolish. Not sure which.

There are themes of "family" and "finding a place where you belong" sprinkled in right now. (The speech in the first episode, the "anyone who shares a meal is family" plaque, the regular dinners together...) That seems like a pretty good indication it isn't going to be gags and fun forever.
Sadly lacks a Hajime, though. Or anyone even nearly as charismatic. But it's really hard to see how it will turn out so far.

Ok....so I still have no idea where this is going. That's kind of impressive. Entertaining though, at least for this season.

Surprised there isn't a thread for this. I thought someone would've made
Anyways actually caught this on a pre-show of a Toonami Stream, and I actually was surprised by how fun it seems. I know the Lolicon Bait might be offputting to some but to me I didn't mind.
Err, don't really have much to say but I just thought it was a shame that it doesn't have a topic yet. It seems like its gonna be a really fun show and of the new shows airing this season its probably there besides Space Dandy in terms of being interested in so far.
