I come to his videos to be entertained instead of to be informed, so I’m never really bothered when he says things that are incorrect.
It's been 3000 years…I think the reason the "g*psy" thing sticks out is because Jenny Nicholson just posted a video the day before expressing Old Shame at how she used the word so much in Friendship is Witchcraft, and she explained how it's a slur, though not as many Americans seem to be aware of it until recently. She said in a Twitch stream later that it surprised her he didn't seem aware.
I brought the issue up to the Walkers on their Twitch on Thursday and they pretty much said "yeah we'd heard about that but it's used so much in the movie it's hard to get around." It's a bit different than using it in an abridged series that didn't have the word to begin with. (Though I'm sure it's not impossible to review the movie while avoiding using it.)
I do some cleanup and then I enjoy shows you probably think are cringe.A bit late, but here's newest addition to Dark Toons, Twisted Sister from Powerpuff Girls:
Yeah never reference Doug for being insightful, only for entertainment. Was the broadway play he's referencing the one Lindsay was talking about that went to the other extreme?
I'm not sure what you mean, but it's basically the middle man between the novel and the Disney movie in terms of darkness. Frollo is a genuinely holy man that's ruined by his lust instead of a mustache-twirlingly evil man from the get-go, the gargoyles are nowhere to be seen and are instead a chorus in Quasi's head, and Esmerelda dies.
It's been 3000 years…Oh so it's not the one Lindsay was referencing? In her vid she mentions a stage play that tries to "fix" the movie but instead swerves to the other extreme.
You know, there are content creators out there who are both entertaining and insightful.
Even Disney Frollo was at the very least holy enough to not be a baby-killing monster. But only because he was affraid of judgment in the afterlife.
Everything evil he does do he seems to reason away as 'not my fault, they were the sinners'
Oh yeah it's been years, but Nostalgia Critic started when blurays weren't a thing yet right?
Blu-rays were first released the year before he debuted.
Ah I see, was wondering on some of the quality of the videos of his old reviews.

I assure you, I'm a completely trustworthy person.'d!
Stray observations:
- "Well, that was the saddest featurette I've ever seen..."
- Hey, if there is a lot of Chaplin and Buster in the video, I'm satisfied.
- "I expected more from the writer of—huh, maybe I didn't."
- "Pussy-ass bitch."
- "I'll just leave that part out of the Facebook post."
- "Thou Shalt Not Let Seth Rogen Sing."
- "JESUS, you've dug him up?!"
- "Cancel Simba, cancel Simba!"
- "Don't look at me, I voted for Libertarian Pumba!"
- "Yeah, my desk has Skype buttons now."
- I liked the video, it was a well-balanced review.

Just a person. He/him.I'm pretty sure Shenzi was the hyenas' leader in the original film as well.
Not necessarily, they all have "equal" say, but she is the smartest. More to a point, they're more like buddies than some military front.
So like, this movie is...not that bad, right? Like the comparing this movie to selling drugs to children is very extreme.
I get the point is that the movie itself is creatively bankrupt (and it definitely is) and we really should stop supporting these remakes because the same talent could be going towards something original and better, but I don't think this film necessarily hurts anyone by existing. Hell, in all honesty, I'm happy that the movie with an almost all-black voice cast made so much money. Same thing with Aladdin (2019), even though I genuinely hated that film.
And there are far worse products that Disney (and its subsidiaries) have released that have terrible moral implications. Both before and after this movie.
He killed the cast of Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog when everyone here said it's a guilty pleasure. It doesn't really matter what exaggeration he uses.
Personally, I did in fact like this movie and yes, it's more because of the technicalities than the actual story. Everyone was at least in character and it sent a pretty good message, but obviously the original will never be topped.
I'd rather have a movie saying As You Know than a movie using Stuffy Old Songs About the Buttocks. Now THAT'S a death warrant in my opinion. Hmm...maybe Sing broke that curse?
You see, The Lion King is Doug's favorite Disney movie, so he's entitled in his mind to equate the 'live action' remake to selling drugs to kids.
I mean, The Lion King's my favorite Disney movie too, but to be honest, it's one of the better ones just because it's a shot-for-shot remake of one of, if not the absolute best Disney movies out there, so of course the cinematography and story are still going to be top-notch.
It's been 3000 years…I always seem to be in the minority with these live action remakes. Namely I usually find them to be alright. Nothing great, but usually decent. So I don't really get why Doug always seem to get so worked up. Then again I am one of the few people who like the original Teen Titans and Teen Titans Go. So what do I know?
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadForgive me, but...was that sarcasm? I’m only asking because I remember Doug saying that he actually thinks The Lion King is pretty overrated. And that he hates most of the songs in the film other than Circle of Life and Be Prepared.
My issue isn’t really that he’s exaggerating as that’s what the NC is supposed to do. He’s an over the top guy with anger issues that takes movies way too seriously. I get it. Really, I do.
But...Doug actually seems to genuinely hate the movie as much as the Critic does, so pretty much everything he’s saying in his review about the film can kind of be taken at face value, especially considering he often repeats the same critiques in his regular Doug Walker reviews and carries them to his NC reviews.

I disagree. It's bad because it has a needless photorealistic filter and minor changes that adds up that ruins things. Also lack of expressions, generally poorer voice acting, etc.
I think even Lindsay gets the point across as well.

I was indeed being sarcastic.
It's been 3000 years…x3 I mean, if anything, he's much more fair about the movie than he was in his initial vlog.
Just a person. He/him.Scar's redesign is still underwhelming as hell.
