Which I did.
I think it's a little weird that the most epic action sequence so far was a fucking food fight.
I have an issue, though: You can't just introduce this Semblance stuff without telling us what it is or how it works.
Also for some reason the White Fang makes me think of the Black Fang.

"I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." -Thomas EdisonI thought they covered it pretty well when Pyrrha's was introduced; a semblance is a person's unique power (although so far it can be passed down through the family). Everyone only has one semblance, and so far from where you seem to be up to we have Ruby's speed, Weiss' glyphs and Pyrrha's is controlling polarity. According to Word of God we've already seen Jaune's by the end of volume two.
Ok then
Well now I'm at V 2 CH 6
That mecha fight was cool but it would have been really awesome if Roman and his mech had put up a better fight.
"I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." -Thomas EdisonApparently it was just a incomplete prototype and Roman, despite his many talents, was not the best at piloting mechs.
Well I didn't know that.
And now this dance arc. Ship Tease everywhere. Dammit canon stop getting in the way of my ship (thankfully only one is getting blocked by reality)
"I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." -Thomas EdisonSo...what are your ships and do you know the names of them?
No I don't know the names but anyway so far I've got
Ruby/Weiss Pyrrha/Jaune Sun/Blake and Nora/Ren
I'm not that big on shipping usually.
"I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." -Thomas EdisonHere is a handy spread sheet of names of all ships up to the end of Volume One. There are even names for Selfcest parings (Cinder's is Irony, Nora's is Smashing, Glynda is "a VERY badwitch", etc.).
Fun fact; almost all of the names Ruby calls out for team attacks in the Mech fight are the names of the relevant ships. Only one is different, although I don't know off the top of my head.
Ruby/Weiss is either White Rose, Combat Skirts, or Ice Flowers.
Pyrrha/Jaune is either Arkos, Private Lessions, or Death by Snusnu.
Sun/Blake is either Eclipse, Dusk, or Black Dawn.
Nora/Ren is should be pretty obvious; either Team Sloth or Boop.

or you could just ignore the names
But they're just so clever/funny!
90% of those are godawful and I bet were named before the ship had followers
There are some clever ship names like Eclipse but most of them suck and don't have wide usage
which is a goddamn blessing
And yet 100% of those ship names are more creative than 90% of other fandoms' ship names who just stick two character's names next to each other. If they are feeling really creative they might put an X or slash in-between the character's names!
I might not care for shipping all that much, but if nothing else then RWBY's fandom at least does it right.

#IceBearForPresidentWait until you meet Mercury.
Oh, you have.
Wait until you see Mercury when he's actually trying.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!Man, along with Qrow, Mercury stole the whole damn season for me.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.Personally, the best fight was Pyrrha versus CRDL, but Qrow and Merc do give it a run for its money.
Unrelated topic: I know it's completely redundant given that it's a World of Badass, but looking at the character page and not seeing Badass under Pyrrha and Qrow and Merc just feels wrong.

You know what i am thinking - Angst RWBY Fanfiction. I have seen it done well "cough" Innocence and Vengeance "cough" but generally i think it is portrayed very badly
I'd blame Ruby for that. She has so much to be angsty about and yet still manages to be such a beacon of positivity it's almost infectious.
This could be the Pokémon fan in me speaking, but Dark Fics are rarely done well.
Dark is hard to do well.
Mix it with Sturgeon's Law and a fairly light source material, and angst-fics ain't happening.
Given the settings, RWBY can result in a plenty of Dark Fics. The problem is that characters seldom behave accordingly, so if you write a story that plays the setting and its atmosphere straight, you have a problem because of characters and the limit on how one can portray them as.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel. You mean that since RWBY is fairly light, the characters' personalities are also light, so fitting them into a dark and angsty story would make them OOC, or out of place?
Check out my fanfiction!Yes, but unlike in other light stories, the ''setting' ' of RWBY is legitimately dark; it's just that characters and atmosphere are inexplicably light.

Start on season 2 it's awesome.
