This thread is for questions regarding creating or cutting pages in Franchise/ namespace and Franchise Index.
As a reminder, being a Series Franchise doesn't mean a Work can have a Franchise/ page. For that it needs existing (not Red Link) and connected (official releases for the same trademark) Work pages in 3 different Mediums, not 3 pages for the same property in general.
If it doesn't meet those criteria, the section about related releases can be on page of the first installment.
For instance, Video Games. Take a look at this page. I guarantee that we don't even have that many listed in the Franchise namespace.
Also, I set up Franchise pages for Duke Nukem, Deer Hunter, and Grand Theft Auto.
Wouldn't it be more appropriate to list multiple games in a Franchise page as opposed to a Video Game page?

Alright.
So can we make that move?
Question: Does a toy line count for a separate medium?
I ask because in a Wiki Walk I came across Franchise.Ever After High, whose description treats the toy line as a medium along with the web episodes and a book series.
All your safe space are belong to TrumpYes, but it needs to have its own page to justify a Franchise/ page.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanHell, as far as I can tell (after an admittedly brief skim via Google site search) it doesn't even have a literature page for the book line.
So that leaves the question about what namespace to put it into, but that's not the topic of this thread. Not sure which thread it would belong in, however.

All your safe space are belong to TrumpAny action gonna be taken on the FMA thing?
I'm of the opinion that Doom is overdue for a franchise page. There's the games, the books, the comic, the movie, and the board game (although we don't have a page for that one yet). If no one objects, I'll throw together a sandbox.
Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)Yeah, I think a Franchise/ page would be good there.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanThe Witches Of Eastwick has a franchise page despite only having works listed in two namespaces, the film and the tv show.
You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"It really does seem that tropers can't resist moving series pages into Franchise/ and shifting every wick over, even when there was only one medium covered to begin with, and often no subpages for individual works. (Franchise.Devil May Cry, Franchise.Tokimeki Memorial and Franchise.Ys come to mind.) I worry that the title and OP of this very thread are setting a bad example.
The problem is the namespace name. It should've been Multimedia Franchise from the start.
Link to TRS threads in project mode here.Ys also covers novels, a manga and an anime as well as the video game so at least it's not terrible, but they really need their own pages.

Reality is that, which when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away. -Philip K. DickIts "coverage" of those adaptations is little more than noting their existence.
Deadpool might need a franchise.
There's Deadpool, Deadpool, and of course, Deadpool.
The only problem is that the comic book namespace page is currently a mere redirect to the Self-Demonstrating page, for no reason. So it'll need to be de-redirected and made from scratch. But anyways, the necessary 3 media are there.

What about A Song of Ice and Fire?
I think that needs its own franchise. I mean, there's the main novels, the supplementary novels, the TV shows, the games...
Now known as Cyber ControllerSo I found Franchise.Drakengard. Which is a purely videogame only franchise. The only thing is that the first game in the series is also called Drakengard, which is currently in the VideoGame.Drakengard page. So where should the Franchise/ page go?
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them. For starters, if there's only one medium (video games, in this instance) that has wiki pages for it, the Franchise namespace is the wrong place for the page. The Franchise namespace requires three or more different media with pages on TVT.
That said, since there seem to be numbered sequels for Drakengard, VideoGame/Drakengard1 for the first game, with VideoGame/Drakengard as the series page, a la how Final Fantasy is handled (even if they use pretentious roman numerals )
All your safe space are belong to TrumpAnother VG franchise thingy.
Bioshock has a franchise page even though it's exclusively a VG work.
It seems to me that the obvious solution is to move the Franchise page to VideoGame/BioShock (currently a redirect to VG/BioShock1, the first game), but given that there are almost 600 wicks pointing to the franchise page, I want to make sure before starting in on changing that.
All your safe space are belong to TrumpYes, please make that change.
Link to TRS threads in project mode here.Well, Bio Shock's got at least two mediums on this site.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them.So save the franchise page as a redirect until it gets a third medium. That doesn't justify an incorrectly-namespaced page.
Link to TRS threads in project mode here.Kirby has a franchise page despite only having one medium listed for it.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Ok, set up VG/Bioshock with the content from the Franchise page (tweaked the "games in the series" list to point to BS1 as well), and set the Franchise page as a redirect to VG/Bioshock while working on the nearly 500 wicks pointing to the franchise page at the moment.

All your safe space are belong to TrumpFranchise.God Of War has the same problem as BioShock: There are only videogames listed on the franchise page. Should I move the franchise to VideoGame.God Of War and move the first videogame to VideoGame.God Of War I?
Being pushy does not help, just as a note.
Anyhoo, since we don't have a separate franchise-wide trope list, I'd be fine with moving the material back to the Manga page.
