Law of Conservation of Narrative Detail says it has to be important, especially given the sparseness of the details this medium provides.
Checkmate. For some reason, saying that is just so satisfying. CheckmateStarted a new thread in the Poirot section of the forum. I might have something here. Love it if you would check it out, though it's pretty massive.

No, you can't eat my soul. Stop asking.Good job on warning Poirot, Adell. That was probably the most you have been able to get out of him for this entire game. I wonder if it could have been possible to make him reveal more details about his fictional state, perhaps telling him that we need all that available information to really help him.
Of course, it's not entirely impossible he doesn't know he's Poirot. He could just have lost his memory on the way through the wall, or something similar.
Holmes, on the other hand, seems to have understood the situation rather well.

Marching on together.https://twitter.com/AVeryMadCat/status/252918008643723265
It appears we're going to be introduced to a few deaths, and a few more characters.
Hello everyone.Good god I can't go on. Good night.
Marching on together.Well, I think that it is safe to say that things are gonna go quiet for a bit. No further clues on the whole detective debacle, or at least, nothing that can really be called a "clue". I've got some theories, but until more information appears, it is just baseless speculation, so I won't share it yet. No point in getting people's hopes up. Besides, since it is baseless, and I habitually account for every possibility my mind can come up with it would result in a giant Wall of Text.
There is a possibility that there may be another burst of plot sometime in the near future, but I may miss it. I have school related things to do, so I won't always be monitoring things here. Just to warn you.

Checkmate. For some reason, saying that is just so satisfying. CheckmateGreat job on detective work by the way Sicon. Really top notch stuff there.
Yeah, I think for now it's best to just let all this current information sit until something else comes up. It's a bit to digest, really.
Hello everyone.Dadblammit, someone went and told Poirot before I was able to mention my "Poirot is Moriarty" theory. However, looks like someone already thought of that as well.
I don't follow the WT Forum much, so I dunno if this has been posted, but it seems that Raikespeare, our friendly writer-to-be (!) is connected to both of these goodly detectives. We need to get into contact with him. Someone check FB and Twitter?
"Your mission is not to nuke the squid god." —FaramirThanks a bunch Shaner! ^_^ I know I say this a lot but I really do need to be getting off to bed. I just can't seem to pull myself away... It's almost as addictive as TV Tropes. Wait... it pretty much is TV Tropes. Well that explains a lot.
Checkmate. For some reason, saying that is just so satisfying. CheckmateNice work, Sicon!
\*sees Minds-and-Matter's cat picture*
...Cats?
MORE cats?
Crikey Moses, how many flippin' cats are we gonna have on our hands?! I mean: Carl, Jung, Chesh, Joe's cat, Poirot's friend's cat...
Wait. I gave the Gnarbydh the body of a lion. I helped contribute to the cat number.
...
Should I feel proud, or ashamed?

"We're home, Chewie."Just noticed something. No one ever did go in and analyze the name of that dude who led Holmes to Les. I just did. It isn't good.
The name is jmartysknight2e4.
I give it a 90% chance of standing for James Moriarty's Knight to E 4. Oh, Crap!.
Ironically, I'm only mediocre at chess. I have attempted to educate myself a bit involving the game, but I have never had the time to take it up seriously. Any chess geniuses here wanna take a look at that move?
All I can come up with is part of a counterplay to shore up a weakness in the Kingston Defense, but that doesn't seem to have any special connotations.
It's Sicon. XD And yea, I know. I read that page too. My memory isn't that good.
I say we take your siggy's advice and nuke him from orbit. That outta do it.

Checkmate. For some reason, saying that is just so satisfying. Checkmate@silicon well when i read through Kingston defense on wikipedia it basically said that after that opening move that white chooses how the game will progress from there
which is more worrying when you consider this is Moriarity we're talking about. Sorry about the name thing I'm multitasking this with class so I'm scanning some stuff

-dramatic music ensues-
Oh SH*T
This is just gonna escalate further and further isn't it.
I'm on Youtube Reviewing Things Cause I can.I knew that quote was gonna come in handy someday
-dramatic music ensues-E4 is one of the central squares on the chessboard. They're valuable in the opening and midgame because pieces on them can reach so many places.
Moving a knight to E4 isn't a possible opening move for either white or black, so it's possible Moriarty has had this plan running for a long time. It's also an interesting move because the space is so exposed - moving a knight there is quite aggressive, and implies that he's pretty confident he can defend it.
(Not that I'm a chess whiz either, but my interest in chess theory has far outstripped my capacity to play the game itself.)
EDIT: , Whoops, missed that post. Hadn't heard of the Kingston Defense. If that's what he's running, that means he's playing black.

I mis-spoke when i said opening move, what I meant is that knight to E-4 is the first move of the Kingston Defense. my bad
-dramatic music ensues-Hey guys running to be a site mod any chance I can get a few votes to get in?
I'd gladly support Dryu, Adell and Scion as mods. They're our key players, more or less.
A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they will never sit in.Daw, you're making me blush!
...shit. My computer's charger finally gave out completely.
I have a replacement in the mail, but I'm going to be sparse until it arrives. I'll have to use the computers on campus to do everything for a while...
A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they will never sit in.It seems to be a bad idea to make our best players mods. That takes away their ability to solve puzzles because they have to deal with moding b.s. the reason I am going for it is because I am not good at puzzle solving and other such things of that nature.
I don't think the clock thing matters and the comic seems to support a disguise. I don't think investigating the clock will help.
EDIT:I'm not convinced but looking at it can't hurt I suppose. I'd try the letter first though that's our best lead.
