For the uninitiated... A contingent of tropers (mostly from across America) holds regular get-togethers over the Interwebs on this site called Synchtube which lets individuals, such as ourselves, open and join in text-based chatrooms within typical web browsers (Firefox, Chrome, et. al.) that allow the chat participants to view YouTube videos in synchronization with everyone else present (without even needing to set up an account)... and we've decided to use said chatrooms to play cheeseball webvideos and feature-length movies found in the public domain which stretch all the way from letters B to Z, which everyone subsequently riffs on a la MST3K.
For over EIGHT years, everybody who gets involved mostly finds good enjoymentnote in calling out tropes that are recognized in the videos and stories and coming up with jokes to fling back at whatever's happening on the screen, many of which turn into various in-jokes and running gags (a Coven Glossary is kept and maintained for everyone's help and convenience HERE) to repeat in the chat.
We're always looking for new ways to better coordinate and expand our activities and are more than happy to welcome newcomers interested in joining our gatherings.

The day has come, and it's been LONG overdue... Tiptoes, featuring "command performances" from Matthew McConaughey, Kate Beckinsale, Peter Dinklage, Patricia Arquette, David Alan Grier... and Gary Oldman "in the role of a lifetime." (Also, some other dwarf performers of note, including Michael J. Anderson of Twin Peaks and Carnivale... and Ed Gale, who wore the character costume for Howard the Duck)
You may think from just watching the trailer that the main "conflict" is about Kate Beckinsale's character learning to accept her fiancee's family and getting over fears that their baby-to-be will inherit the dwarf gene... But, oh, a love triangle forms when Kate Beckinsale's character begins to fall in love with her fiancee's brother (Gary Oldman's character)...
Also, as a not-so-subtle nod to Gary Oldman having to stand on his knees, tonight's pre-show will be the late Tim Conway's horribly dated videotape Dorf on Golf...

We've seen every pre-LOTR Peter Jackson movie apart from Heavenly Creatures; Dead Alive / Braindead got a perfect . Cosmos is fucking shit and got a . Not of This Earth is the only one we haven't seen, and that version you linked is a remake of a 1957 Roger Corman movie.
Anyway, I'm still unsure what tonight's movie is really about, but coming all the way from India is Roadside Romeo (with English subtitles).

Well, one thing it's about, is an alpha douche. Who sounds like one despite being voiced by an Indian actor. They got the perfect voice actor for him! He sounds just as douchey and showoffy as the character's personality.
Also, voice acting and song lyrics are in both Hindi and English. But it's subtitled for when they're not speaking English.
Also, this movie was developed by Disney of India. Reflect on that.

Well, it got 🐕🐕. It was quite a trip alright. A city of stray dogs, an alpha douche who has women fall all over him ends up falling for the one woman who tells him to fuck off, and it turns out she's the mob boss's crush.
The constant mixture of Hindi and English is interesting. I thought the English pronunciation was fine, and the voices fit the characters.
Wow, does this movie not culturally work outside of India. Like, I know it was by a Disney studio, but I just don't see this as being very exportable.
And it ends with outtakes - both animated and actual in-studio of the voice actors. Interesting.

As we are fans of Johnny Mnemonic, I thought we, or at least a few of us, would like to know What's the Difference? between the movie and the short story it's based off.
That just so happened to come up on my Google feed earlier today. Yeah, I already watch it (of course I already watched it), and because I've already seen that movie for a completely healthy 167 times, I feel like I'm a big enough elitist to say that I (and any of us who've seen it here multiple times, for that matter) am mostly above it. Indeed, we can scoff a bit upon noticing that the entire premise of the video is based on the American edit of the movie, when the version we've always watched includes deleted scenes that aren't present in the version IGN showcase contradict some of the very comparisons that they try to highlight (i.e. they say that Jones, the dolphin, isn't depicted as a drug addict, like in the short story, but the cut of the movie that we always watch explicitly shows Ice-T pumping the dolphin up full of drugs with a syringe, and we wouldn't have it any other way!)... But everybody go watch that video, anyway. Just for shits and giggles. Anyway...
