For once, I think I like all of the characters, even the Children of Monokuma.
The Ultimate Inventor (I can't remember her name) is definitely channeling Ibuki, though.

"Nice to meet you. I'm not anyone suspicious"
Sure bro
"I have not failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work." -Thomas EdisonI'm starting to get used to the designs, even with how much Kaede looks like Sonia.
I already have some favorites just from their designs.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."They're doing so much to paint Amami as sketchy and Ambiguously Evil that I'm becoming convinced he's going to end up completely nice and genuine.

Dang, the soundtrack at the end sounds amazing.
I'm not sure why you think Akamatsu looks like Sonia. Aside from the hair, I don't see any physical similarities between them.
Everything is Vanity and a chase after Wind.I just found Iruma's quote in the self-introductions part of the video is actually a Japanese meme and now I really really regret not having translated it as I AM THE FUCKING STRONG.
No, it should be 'EYE AM TEH FUCKING STRONK'

Everything is Vanity and a chase after Wind. The DR 3 dub is on the So Bad It's Horrible page, by the way. Well, just Junko.:

Okay as someone who's played D1 & D2 on the vita only in the dub, I gotta ask: Why the fuck does everyone sound so different? Especially Monokuma, does he have a different VA?
Damn man & I really wanted to watch this shit's dub.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Funimation wanted to use their own actors from their dub of the first anime over NIS' choices...
And their infinitely more annoying Three Stooges Monokuma laugh, some reason.
edited 29th Oct '16 7:52:26 PM by Grounder
No, Funimation didn't know about NIS doing a release of the game and used their own cast. The voice actors confirm this, and the dub was recorded around the same time the dub for Attack On Titan was, which is why Naegi has the same voice actor while everyone else doesn't.
Well, the DR 2 characters in the DR 3 dub are mostly (all but 5) the same people who voiced them in the game, so them sounding different can be blamed on the director.

You might recognize Gundham as KaiserNeko, for what it's worth.
Oh God! Natural light!...Am I the only one who enjoyed Jamie Marchi's performance as Enoshima? She sounded absolutely perfect as both her Valley Girl side and her serious side.
Everything is Vanity and a chase after Wind. You know, it's kind of weird.
Kyoko was one of my favourites in my original play of the first game, and yet in the fourth chapter of the LP I'm watching now? I absolutely can't stand her.
She refuses to cooperate with Makoto in the third case, and simply demands that he assist her. She tells him about the room after the case not because she trusts him, but because she wants to see the mastermind's reaction. And then, when he keeps Sakura's secret from her, she goes flat out aggressive on him, essentially taking over Celeste's role as "Argues for the sake of needing to argue". Only instead of doing it in the trial, she's doing it for their discussions on the plot at large.
If everyone were normal, the world would be a dull place. Like reality television.Huh I haven't played the game in a long while but Kyouko was made at Makoto because he actually decided to not tell her something he alone knew for once right?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Yes. It's the But Thou Must! moment where even if you try to tell her, Makoto refuses.
It just feels very hypocritical, since the only reason she told him her secret was because it was convenient for her, so if he were to show the same amount of trust, then he'd hold off until there was a chance of Kyoko getting bludgeoned over the head by telling her-
I'm worked up about this. It's just weird that despite liking her the first playthrough, this time it frustrates the hell out of me.
If everyone were normal, the world would be a dull place. Like reality television.I liked Kirigiri at first but there were 3 big points about that I grew to hate after.
Finally, someone mentioned Kirigiri's hypocrisy.
I too really disliked Kirigiri for her behaviour during the mid-point of DR1. Kirigiri 'placed her trust in Makoto' to use him as a tool. Makoto 'lied by omission' to protect Oogami. Their intentions made all the difference.
I'll be honest, Kirigiri doesn't really deserve a person as sweet and beautiful as Makoto (WAIFU4LAIFU).

Everything is Vanity and a chase after Wind.Makoto isn't blameless in that situation either.
If he was angry at Kyoko, and doing this to get back at her, then being so closed about the secret would make sense. But it isn't.
He's doing it because he doesn't want to cause trouble, and yet lets Kyoko treat him horribly and accepts her anger as if it's some sort of penance for what he's doing. All he says is "Sorry, I can't tell you yet." Just adding something like "Not until I'm certain" or "I don't want to cause trouble with false accusations" probably would have made her less aggressive on it, but Makoto just leaves her hanging like that, and then lets everyone walk over him.
Honestly, I hate the Chapter 4 Daily Life, which is incredibly ironic since the chapter 4 case is one of my favourite mysteries in gaming. It's just a really frustrating segment caused by the two main characters being an idiot and a hypocrite.
If everyone were normal, the world would be a dull place. Like reality television.Well Makoto is a bit of a goober & he's not really that smart anyway. He's a bit too nice for his own good & coupled with his self-esteem problems it kinda makes why he fucked up a little during that round.
Still which is worse, acting like an idiot or acting like a jackass?

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I have no idea.
Picking between someone who'd confront a potential traitor more than capable of killing them, without confiding in anyone, or someone who will demand that you aid them while refusing to cooperate unless it's convenient for them? That's a hard choice.
If everyone were normal, the world would be a dull place. Like reality television. You do realise that if Makoto added something like 'not until I'm certain', that would have only made Kirigiri even more angry because it would be an explicit refusal to share his discoveries and hypotheses instead of a vague period of silence?
Makoto didn't trust the others to not jump into conclusions, and for extra caution, that included Kirigiri. He was just being careful for Oogami's sake.
Plus, what he witnessed that night was Oogami's rebellion against Monokuma. Why would he believe she had any reason to commit murder after that?
