[up] I suppose that can work... although a lot of those are audio/video blogs IIRC.

I guess I haven't covered the Let's Play genre in my suggestions... I guess its closest would be Fanvid/, but I'm not sure what would cover it for sure...

Made a crowner and swapped it out with all the suggestions in the thread I could dig up. Feel free to add others, or remove some if I missed where they were decided against.

Downvoted everything with "Fan" in it as it seems simpler to use the format as a namespace rather than the source.

Not sure if Role Play needs to be on the crowner since we already support that. But nobody's downvoting it so whatever. tongue

Question: what's the fundamental difference between Web Video, Web Animation and Abridged Series? Doesn't Abridged Series already fall under the other two, just differing in how it's built.

Abridged Series is a parody of a show, but dubbed over existing footage from that show. The video footage is ripped straight from the source, with different dialogue.

Also added the option to keep WebOriginal/ for whatever won't be covered by the split (as it was brought up in the thread before). Although come to think I don't think we'll need it.

EDIT: Also, as for Web/Serial Novels, I'm still fine with those being covered under Literature/.

Web Video can be for original Live Action works.

Abridged Series is a Parody(Live or Animated).

Web Animation is self-explanatory.

I don't really think Abridged Series needs a namespace. It's more a genre than a format, and a narrow one at that. Plus the fact that most of them have "The Abridged Series" in the name makes it redundant.

I'm for Web Series prioritized over Web Video; it just seems to make more sense with our current conventions. In time, everything's going to be on the internet, and then we'll have to split Web Video.

Should we have a headline for this? I realize its not all that contentious, its just something that a lot of people will want to vote on, and its in kinda a weird section of the forums.

For the above reasons, I too am opposed to an AbridgedSeries/ namespace. Personally, I'd have them under FanVid/, because FanWork/ would be too broad a category. That said, I most likely wouldn't want any more "fan" namespaces beyond the two.

How is Let's Play going to work? We currently have LPers with pages. Would those go under the namespace, as well as any individual LP someone wants to make a page for and LP-ish things like The Terrible Secret Of Animal Crossing?

[up] I think if we did do the Let's Play namespace, modeling it after Music would be the way that best fits how they're already structured, so yeah, that's probably the way to go.

That also makes sense to me, especially since Wrestling/ is also in this route (so it would seem in the case of aliases).

Oh, and another question here:

In the event that neither AbridgedSeries/ nor FanWhatever passes, what would The Abridged Series be classified under? Still standing by my earlier thought, but just wondering.

I would say Web Series, but it looks like that's not going to pass, either. So I suppose Web Video, at least for those that are videos and not Webcomics.

[up]The pass ratio, I think, is 2/1 unless we want to have more namespaces. Also, three days should take care of this, unless we see a massive vote swing in this timespan.
