IMO lock the damn thing.... You are never going to stop the warring on this 100% serious.
Also lots of people arnt spoiler tagging ending spoilers too.
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!Can't we just give it a little time to calm down? People are probably just starting to finish the game, so obviously there's going to be a lot of editing going on right now.
The forum title is broken, so you can find it at Mass Effect 3. The big issue is both the longevity of the complaints and if it is concentrated towards least somewhat appropriate tropes (such as Multiple Endings rather than a generic Idiot Plot complaint).
EDIT: I checked it over and the MAJOR issue is really in the YMMV section (the Ruined Forever section has like 20+ entries), which I think will pass over in a week and can be cleaned up after that.

Yeah, I was going to leave it blank to ask for both help on the main page and the YMMV page.
Good luck; I suspect the war's only going to get louder as more people finish the game. Might be a month or more before it truly settles. I'd lock the main and YMMV pages for at least a week.
As I said on the discussion page: I'm definitely in favor of a lock for at least a couple weeks to a month. YMMV is turning into Complaining About Endings You Don't Like, and I foresee continued edit wars, intentional or not.
I have that page on the watchlist; I'll keep it clean, and there is no need for a lock so far.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI am also watching the page and all it's subpages. We should be able to enforce some sort of order.
If it gets too bad, we can always lock it later.
Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.I am with CCOA. Just let it burn out. This is pretty much expected of any anticpated new releases. Flurry of activity with a bunch of a obviously new editors making a mess. Those who are experienced editors can keep it from getting too bad. Someone can add a commented out note at the very top about the endings and proper use of spoiler tags.
Wish we could just keep new editors from editing for a couple weeks or get back to that test required to edit pages idea that was pitched a while ago.
Who watches the watchmen? It's not even that bad, there are a few complaints here and there but it is mostly concentrated on the YMMV page. Most examples I've seen of pages getting locked is about edit warring on controversial topics, this is fairly tame and easy to control.
Just as long as we keep on top of it we can keep the page from becoming a problem. A note at the top about ending and spoilers should be put in though. Anyone want to do that? I am not sure what to say about the ending officially. The spoiler thing should be obvious.
Who watches the watchmen?I haven't played the game, but I'd be happy to put an "official" comment on the page if someone would tell me what to say about it.
Something like:
- %% FIRST NOTE: We are aware the ending is controversial. This is not the place to complain or react to it. Audience Reactions go on the YMMV tab, and must be kept reasonably neutral and free of excessive complaining, natter, conversation on the main page, and justifying edits. Edit warring on any page is against the rules, and may lead to an edit ban.
- %%
- %% SECOND NOTE: Please put anything regarding the ending in spoiler tags, as the game is very new and people are still working on finishing it.
Is that what you're looking for?

Waiting on a TRS slot? Finishing off one of these cleaning efforts will usually open one up.Two nit-picks:
- "Natter" is redundant to "Conversation on the main page"
- "Edit ban" was renamed long ago to "edit suspension" and the terms aren't interchangeable.
Otherwise, it's good, ccoa.
Also, there is already a note on YMMV.Mass Effect 3
%% Unless a meme has become very prevalent and has lasted a long time, do not add the Memetic Mutation trope. Brief forum in-jokes are not memes.
%% This page is for YMMV items. Trivia or objective stuff goes on Mass Effect 3 and Mass Effect 3 respectively
%% There are legitimate concerns about the ending; however, this page is not Complaining About Endings You Don't Like. Focus on the tropes, and please don't just try to shove in tropes purely to vent about how much one dislikes it.
The middle entry is from me, but I am not sure if the first one is legit.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanIt all sounds good.
Who watches the watchmen?I still dont' understand the meme thing. The ME 3 Ending Reaction Meme is not confined to forum in-jokes.
IIRC you are not supposed to put memes on the main article page in the first place, they instead go into the YMMV pages. Unless it is something like an Ascended Meme entry or something similar.
Who watches the watchmen? The problem is the YMMV page, not the main page.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanYMMV is not an excuse to rant.
Sparkling and glittering! Jan-Ken-Pon!From YMMV.Mass Effect 3:
Is this really a valid rule, or can it safely be zapped?
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanAhh if that is YMMV I think that can be zapped. I do not recall that rule ever being in place.
Who watches the watchmen? The only meme anyone can really confirm is Marauder Shields.
^ Well, there's this.
#IceBearForPresidentLast I checked we didn't need to confirm a meme either.
Who watches the watchmen?King Zeal added them back in in YMMV.
There's a lot of edit warring going on in that page and in the YMMV, nearly all related to the endings (for obvious reasons). Some natter's getting restored and problematic entries that are excuses to bitch are getting tossed in as well.
